I guess it comes down to how much you have invested in the team mate. Unless the other thing only happens 3 times a year.

How good was it to see RMF embrace JJ after the win. There was some real feeling there.

Congratulations on the win. Its been a long time coming. Some aspects were good and others were terrible. Okunbor has given us someone to kick to when the rest of the set has turned to shit. Lewis was actually looking great before his injury and that's the best I've seen Thompson and Jackson play in a while.

Enjoy the win. Go the Eels.

Great to see a win. Just need two losses to Brisbane and we avoid the spoon. I’ll be fucking ecstatic!

In the off season I hope that Barrett can get this team in shape. We just lack the fitness to win most games. I would also love us to sign a dynamic fullback, hooker, or halfback. Just one threat in the spine. Add a couple of middle forwards that can ‘hit and stick’ and we might start to push for the finals.

Let’s be honest, this year is a write off. But it was great to have a win and just maybe avoid the spoon

As the BDP moved around to several different internet venues over the past few decades, it was great to have met MoH & shared footy banter with him during that time.
Really sad to hear the news he has passed away.

Sad indeed.
I cant quite remember who I met in the week leading to the 2012 prelim final but it may have been MoH. Would he have been mid 40's or am I thinking of someone else?

On the original BDP, me and MoH had a loooong ongoing debate holding opposite views over a passionate subject and I can say that between him and me despite the disagreement and the passion, we never degenerated to below the belt insults. Others did, so much so that the subject was subsequently banned, but me and MoH never did and if the f***wits hadn't dropped in we could've went on for yeeeeeears and still kept it all above the belt.

I respected and liked the bloke the more I debated him, and I hope he did with me. I missed my debates with MoH and always held up hope that we could continue them elsewhere one day. I was never gonna convince him nor he me, but I enjoyed the banter. I never did get to ask him what "MoH" stood for as his tag, I always suspected it was "Man of Honour" - and that's the way I took him.

Farewell old mate, I'll miss our little chats.

The Bulldogs Debate Page

If you are a Bulldogs fanatic then this place is all the rage
To show you love the Bulldogs go to the Bulldogs Debate page
It isn’t all that hard to find, its open day and night
Just log on to the net and go to the rleague Bulldogs site

Its there you’ll find some family, maybe a friend or two
But never talk about the team who wears red, white, and blue
When it comes to Bulldogs rugby league where as passionate as they come
When it comes to Bulldogs rugby league where more fanatical than some

Everything that’s Bulldogs, its never hard to find
All the posters on here always speak their mind
Some post every now and then, others all the time
To post about the opposition constitutes a crime

For most of us to post on here is our lifeline for the day
To hear about the Bulldogs and to finally have our say
There are so many different characters, its hard to name just one
So let me introduce them to you. Its time to start the fun

Lets start with the executioner, the one we call JamesS
Many over eager posters have put his axe to the test
He sits upon the Board of Control, he decides who has to go
Everybody knows that James is a director of the show

When he gets the bit between his teeth he can get rather weary
But MattO loves to espouse his old NRL conspiracy theory
Finch is crap, Harrigan’s a cheat, and what about so and so
But the one we hear continuously is that “Gallop has to go”

Fender loves an argument but he calls it a debate
But when he gets too technical then it really starts to grate
He seems to know a lot of stuff, he likes to post the facts
He loves to be subjected to a vicious Smack attack

The Skipper is a debate page legend as if you didn’t know it
He’s talented and humorous and a potentially great poet
Occasionally he will post seriously, but mostly it’s in jest
If you want someone to make you laugh then the Skipper is the best (give myself a wrap)

IanC, the expat Pom, he loves his Chelsea team
Bulldogs and Chelsea in 04 was beyond his wildest dream
Quick with an opinion and a wit sharp as a knife
Since he made the move to good old Oz, the Bulldogs are his life

The biggest Bulldogs fan of all, or so you will hear him say
When Smack gets in one of his moods you best just keep away
He will argue til he’s blue in the face, take on the Bulldogs throng
But just like Fonzie in Happy Days, he can’t admit he’s wrong

This man is an enigma, I talk of TAFKA the Tripper
The page becomes hilarious when he goes head to head with Skipper
Multiple personalities, he will reply to his own posts
“Poster of the year award is mine”, he always boasts

Brisdog is a part time punter, he will give a successful tip
From a colt that’s got potential, to a gelding that’s had the snip
Stride up to the window and present your TAB docket
Walk away with stacks of cash lining your hip pocket

Dino is a Bulldogs fan who travels far and wide
It doesn’t matter where they play he’s always by their side
From the Gold Coast down to Suncorp and even Olympic Park
He’s travelled more kilometres than Noah and his ark

Annav1 is a female fan, she’s the Superannuation queen
On here she is a regular, but in real life she’s not been seen
Her profile pic of Adriana Lima, I wish it was there still
Instead we have to look at all her pictures of Sonny Bill

Blue Noonz comes on in the evening, the queen of the nightshift
Whenever she is stressed from exams she comes on for a lift
Assignments and exams for her, at times it seems too many
But the thing that gets her through it all are her nightly dreams of Reni

His family is literally on this page, I talk of Joe Superstar
To find out what his sister posts, he doesn’t have to travel far
He posts about the Bulldogs and sometimes wrestling gets a start
His favourite wrestler of all time is Brett the Hitman Hart

Speaking of the Hitman he is our legal reference point
But he’s not the only legal eagle in the Bulldogs debate page joint
He loves it when the Bulldogs win and is accepting of a failure
But lets not get him started on the merits of Kris Kahler

One of the young mothers on the page is the lovely HelenP
She’d have us all around for dinner, to try her greek souvlaki
Just like many on this page, her home country is Greece
When a fight breaks out upon the page, she’s always making peace

Darrenb is the resident bouncer, at pubs he keeps drunks out
He knows every single upcoming player, he’s the debate page talent scout
He’ll post early in the morning when he’s finished his nightly shift
And regal us with stories of how he had to go the biff

Rox is in the medical profession, she will always speak her mind
A champion wordsmith of repute, her words aren’t always kind
She used to be much more relaxed, sometimes gentle as a pup
It doesn’t take a lot these days to get her fired up

And then of course there’s dk, who doesn’t mind a bet
Whenever the Bulldogs lose a game, he’s pissed off and upset
A passionate supporter, on here he is one of many
He’s backed the Dogs to win the comp right down to his last penny

Now Peter Bulldog, I know him well. He is a Rugby League tragic
He loves to watch all three grades and see the Bulldogs magic
If you want to know who’s coming through and who’s our next young gun
Have a chat to Peter Bulldog and he will tell you who’s the one

He banned himself for a short time when he copped abuse for a joke
But everybody wanted him back because Betcha’s a top notch bloke
His health may not be at its best, he is gracefully getting old
But the night shift all love Betcha coz he has a heart of gold

The big redhead from Newcastle, the man we know as Woods
When it comes to music and concerts, this guy has the goods
His wife’s a mad keen Knights supporter, they attend a lot of games
I bet Woods has a quiet chuckle when the Knights go down in flames

Then we come to Nathan B who is a tennis fan
When it comes to talking tennis, Roger Federer is his man
If memory serves me correctly, then menacer is his mate
A regular who logs on to the page for some intuitive Bulldogs debate

Controversial describes this bloke, he love to have his go
The King of the Conspiracy theory is the poster known as MoH
And what about our mate Penster, she is a liverpool fan
She hit the roof while jumping for joy, when Houllier got canned

There’s so many more posters to mention like cravoula and Kylie C
To StuMac and Traces of Nuts to the deadpan Iamatree
But wait, there’s more like Lonhro, Shifty and AdamE
Old Dog and Dog-Sothoth and the magazine man pauld

Zef has been here a long time and so has the poster known as MB
Sonny Boy, and Zapo, Brad and Dano and Long term Doggie
What about the day five eight picked McIlwain to be the last to score
We are all now used to JL stating. “opposition by four”

Just how many posters are there, the list gets bigger and bigger
Scojo, JK, canus, Colts Dog, and the new boy named agrippa
Notorious Norton the lunatic, the poster spirit of kingsbury
ToddH, Lauren, pj, ams, and the rubber chook of Joebee

Many posters have come and gone, there are new ones everyday
But we all have one thing in common, we love to watch the Bulldogs play
We all share our opinions, and no topic is taboo
From 9/11 and religion, to the latest signing coup

Its amazing how big of a part this page plays in my life
To me it’s a bigger commitment than trying to find a wife
When you meet the creators of this page, don’t just stand and cheer
Just sit down at the Novotel and shout them all a beer."

I think MoH was a shortened version of his name...extremely nice guy and always said hello though the days of going to many games have sadly passed. Did anyone else go to German Restaurant in Beverly Hills where there was an original BDP get together? I wonder how many have done an "Alan".

I vaguely remember the get together.....I didnt attend as i was still new to the page and didnt know if people where on the Luke Patten is an Origin Player bandwagon or my bandwagon....

What I couldn't understand at the time is why you and I didn't get a mention in that ripper poem (unless you used a different alias)

I was controversial back then as ever!

I didn’t go that night but I have been to that restaurant. They were horrified when I asked for a knife and fork, the waiter just gestured to use my hands, I guess that’s “German style”. I still went with the knife and fork.

"Controversial" is certainly a good example of euphemism!! Your mate Tolman was okay last night...I think the best thing about the win was that they didn't shut down and just try to "not lose" ...there were some great attacking raids down Okunbur's side. I did think he played as well as he has ever done and his handling was great. The catch and pass for RFM try was superb. Though I do think he hesitates a bit when in the clear...maybe incorporate the equivalent of the Fiji sidestep. JJ's tackle of Cameron Murray was superb. The ref definitely needs to go to Spec Savers...the Souths player's foot on the line was visible to the naked eye on the way through...though if he gave it on the word of the linesman....the linesman needs a fakking labrador.

Tolman had a good game, probably his best for us, but 1 game dont make a season.

Reimis was also good but Okunbor was clearly the best out there having created 2 tries, made most metres, most line breaks, never dropped the ball, caught bombs and good hit ups from own end.

As a result of foul play we were reduced to 16 players in our rotation.  After the sin bin South's still had 17.  Not always in this situation is a player binned.  This meant that for much of the game South's were advantaged.
I don't think Su'a should be able to return until the injured player returns.  He should be replaced, replacement to count, thereby both teams have a rotation of 16 players. If the non offending team uses this tactically so be it.  They were the non offending team.

Tolman and Jackson made great last ditch try saving tackles at critical times, it is what they do best.

Tolman still did too many carries in attack and needs to fight more for a quick play the ball.

While Tolman is at fault, I also blame our coaches, dummy halves and halves.

We are mostly scoring tries off kicks Okunbor and Smith are genuine weapons..

I like to think that Barrett  Furner and co can sort out our attack.

Like all of our players Tolman needs better instructions and to be demoted if he ignores instructions..

If you or I are coach, I'm telling him run decoys at the opponents end, halves and dummy halves told pass to Tolman 1 in 10 but no more than that. Get in position early have a plan and have 2 potential receivers in most  good ball areas.

I also suspect our team isn't quite fit enough a lot of that is a disrupted season.

Marki, with reference to the poem Rod found. Verse 2, Line 2, you have already broken the rule on many an occasion. Mentioning a certain team in here with the colours red, white, blue and brown paper bag colour.

And while we are on the subject of long time members, whatever happened to Nancy. She'd be gutted that Old blue eyes is not playing with us next season.

Its an interesting proposition and one i have thought about many times before.
We did however make the most of the 10min sin bin and scored 12 points to take the lead out to 20.

Not sure what plans Georgallis had to use Wakeham and when. His hand was forced so having BW on bench worked out to our advantage.

Afew weeks ago, we had a Raiders player in the bin and instead of capitalising and scoring with the extra man, i think we conceded 1 or 2 tries.....

Extra depth and a bit more size at prop. Can't get a run at Manly, but their pack is strong.
If the age stats are correct 24-25, good age for a prop.
Hard to say how this will play out, but should not be big dollars.
