It’s great B Smith has some versatility about him, but he knows he’s a No.9 & he’s willing to leave the premiers.... he’s also had the luxury of working under C Smith for the past few years, that experience alone is invaluable. 

Play him where he improves the team most.

The other thing that bothers me is a penalty for breaking the scrum before the ref calls break...

 There is already a rule for this that is not being adjudicated... this is just another thing that will allow the ref to influence the game consciously or otherwise.. 

There is way too much coaching going on by refs already... don’t call break, don’t call players offside, just blow the fvcking pea outta the whistle, and use the bloody sin bin... 

A handover when not making a genuine attempt to play the ball... another grey area left to a refs interpretation.... it’s fekking simple... play the ball with your foot, and be fekking square or get penalised....

Vlan has stopped taking my calls... 

The more that the refs run the game the more opportunity for inconsistency.

Even with a lot of that stuff around the ruck and in play the balls, there is a lot of inconsistency, the crowd baying for  a penalty has an influence. How fast is fast enough?

Smart coaches decided to cheat and the refs have been playing catch up ever since.

2 point field goal is a bad idea, the crowd don't come to see field goals.

More use of 5 in the bin for any deliberate penalty would be a big step forward. Offside, holddown, professional foul, etc designed to stop the attacking teams momentum.

That one isn't bad, the main grey area is defenders hanging on, crowding etc. Penalise and bin defenders, then there is no excuse for playing the ball wrong.

They should better enforce the rule of going back to play the mark. 

It will hurt Soufs the most as they do it on every tackle, but hey....stiff shit

A "genuine attempt".  I genuinely tried to catch the ball but l dropped it.  All ok, I made a genuine attempt.  You can extend this to all areas of the game - off sides, forward passes, head high tackles, getting the ball down for a try.  All BS.  Just apply the rules. Not using your foot can speed up the PTB which is an advantage.

Exactly .. so a genuine attempt must be very close to doing it right. The foot must contact the ball and propel it backwards.

I reckon they should have to have two feet on the ground (so no kneeling) and then place the ball on the ground with two hands.

After that they can step over it as far as I’m concerned. Just the above will give everyone a fair chance of taking position.

I'm not a fan of changing the rules every 5 minutes but if they must why not look at the more boring aspects of the game.  1 2 3 4 5 kick and most sets of 6 having 3 or 4 DH pass hit ups.
Maybe devalue tries from kicks.

I love this line that the game is too predictable. And sure in terms of possession it is. Well how about a handover for playing the ball off the mark? Or not playing it square? Or offloading 2 seconds after the ref calls held? Or calling forward passes from dummy half?
