+xJust caught a replay of NRL360 who mentioned Townsend almost guaranteed to go to Cowboys after Reynolds knocked them back and Sharks now tablingba deal to Reynolds. The smart play from our club is to talk to Flanagan, Sharks and Reynolds about early release so we can then go for Reynolds. I feel Reynolds is what we need right at this time. Sharks can be confident Flanagan can play in their team with the players around him. This is the sort of negotiations we should be having Agreed. I was thinking last year we should sign the best experienced halfback possible. Reynolds is the perfect fit and would be ideal for Burton. Adding B.Smith would be the right choice with two creative halves and just allow him to concentrate on his own me. Talk is we are after Rudolf as well. They are the best signings from what is available and need to be made.

It is unlikely that the Sharks will want Flanagan.

This is the sort of negotiations we should be having It’s a f***in’ knee jerk reaction, you got to have a bit more confidence in the decisions you make for more than half a dozen games. You’d never attract or sign anyone you know, nobody would deal with you for just that reason. sign Reynolds and he doesn’t fit like you expect and you’d be having the same “negotiations” this time next year. I think the knee jerk reaction was signing Flanno in the first place. He became available so we grabbed him without too much thought I presume. Reynolds is the perfect fit while we are signing a young spine.
And if we are comparing them it shouldn’t be hard. Both have had a team of superstars around them. Reynolds looked much better even when he first played for South’s. I still remember thinking it would have been great to put the Reynolds together back years ago.

I have been a huge fan of AR since 2012 when we beat them in the preliminaries final but only really secured the win after he left the field and didn't return. I was pissed off years ago when he was coming off contract and we chased Foran instead (one of Des' specials). Here we are again, he's available, doesnt want to leave Sydney, no fight from his current club and probably the best fit for the club and yet we are hanging our hat on Flano who has been sacked by Roosters as they didnt think much of him and 5 weeks into the comp we are second guessing whether he can fit into our team. If I was Baz or the CEO, I'd be making phone calls to hand him back to Sharks in an effort to get AR

It is unlikely that the Sharks will want Flanagan. Off the bench until Reynolds retires or breaks down Then when Reynolds does retire, Averillo is probably playing for another club. He needs to be 5/8 or fullback. A better option is to play Burton in the centres. I've got the Fox at fullback.... The team will be fine with Averillo and Burton in the halves. If Flanagan is playing well Burton can play another position. Like Kimmorley, Reynolds would be a mistake, because we can't challenge for a title when he is here, and when he goes, we are back to square 1. I had the same concern about Kimmorley, and we went backwards towards the end of his career, and after he retired. Reynolds and souths can't agree on money, in fact I think he will end up staying at Souths, because his numbers will move closer to their numbers.

Wow, just read that "Whinging" Wayne and Gould are banging on about how unfair it was that "poor" Lattrell was so hard done by copping 4 weeks due to priors. So fvcking what, he deserved it for fvcking grubby play. Hetherington got 5 weeks due to having priors so Mitchell has to suck it up and rid his game of sloppy play.

Well the penny pamfers are the darlings ATM. They will get away with shit that the chooks and storm could only dream of. And how dare the commentators label them as the entertainers 2.0. Thr Dogs of the 80's were the original and the best.

Thr Dogs of the 80's were the original and the best. They are a good footy side and mostly home grown players. I would be happy if our side put in 75% of the effort they do. Line speed for 80 mins with good execution and variety in attack, that is the forumla. We could do worse than model our game on theirs.
