Watching Parra / Manly as always hoping for a Parra loss.
We need to add some size speed and power to our side.

I would love us to sign both Tapau and Finucane. Bring the boys back with Brandon Smith and we might see a change in our fortunes.
As for next week verse the Panthers. Maybe we could ask Burto to go easy on us????

As for next week verse the Panthers. Maybe we could ask Burto to go easy on us???? The only thing we have going for us against the Panthers is no one expects us to win, We need them to party on the way home from Darwin, then get 3 players binned in the first 10 mins. I expect we will put in a performance that wouls have beaten Canberra or the Titans and still get flogged. I agree with Baz the last 2 games were big opportunities for a win. Maybe we will see more young players or a bit better execution... Our defense up against the Panthers attack could be a nightmare..

We need some strike forwards on the edges especially next year to feed the ball to JAC, Naden & co

Breaking:-
Board meeting tonight at Northies after Lies Lies Lies suffered yet another defeat!
Part time whisperer to Idiot Elliot & alleged supercoach Dman refusing to quit, with the board looking at other candidates including Dr Marki ready to take on the challenge & turning the clubs fortunes around.

If our defense was rock solid I would agree. There was very soft defense in at least 3 of the Tits tries including very soft defense up the middle for 3 of them. Outside of Thompson and Jackson we don't have any middle forwards who I would classify as good defenders. Outside of Topine we don't have any hookers who I would classify as good defenders JMK is the best of a bad bunch and is one of the few good scramble defenders at the club. And there has been symbolic defense on the right edge for a lot of the season, with Hoppa and various 2nd rowers in the frame. Overall the attack looks slight better with the combination of Averillo and Wakeham in the halves. It looks slightly better with Atoni, Doorey and Schoupp playing. While our attack is below par for NRL, the defence is even worse. We need to strengthen the pack in attack and defence, we are way off the pace. In fact this might be the worst pack of forwards I can remember playing for the Dogs. Certainly the worst pack since 2008. Katoa is by far the worst defensive hooker we have ever had, no one else is even in the same postcode.

The big difference in defense this year is the lack of Tolman and the injuries to Jackson and JMK. Elliott also seems significantly worse as does Hoppa. Baz needs to sort this out, any team that regularly conceeds high scores will not win many games., The honeymoon for a new coach lasts 1-2 years at best. After that it is all his problem regardless of what he inherited.

We should have replaced good defenders with good defenders who can attack, or taught Tols to get out of the way in attack. Defence is also attitude, fitness and team work, but some players are simply poor.

It doesn't look like Baz sees Topine as a hooking option going forward. If he did I would have thought he would be playing hooker in NSW Cuup and not second row. DH is a specialist position where the more experience the better. On the bright side we can only hope the guy playing hooker is a sensation.

That is probably right long term, but a guy who can play backrow and hooker is handy.

Zef. You mentioned UFO’s the other day. I’m assuming the 60 minutes report had something to do with it.
Have you listened to ‘the skeptics guide’ a great podcast that talks about that story.
Latest episode about the 50 minute mark

Not so much the 60 mins story as much as The Pentagon report which 60 mins touched on. I’m fine with sceptics reports, as I stated I was very much, and probably still am, a UFO sceptic myself, again because of the distances involved and after crossing such distance why would aliens (which I do believe exist) act so f***in’ mysteriously once they got here. But without listening to it, I do hope they’re not pulling the old sun dogs, Venus or camera artefacts argument without taking into consideration that The U.S Military would be quite capable of ruling in or out those things themselves. They believe the have something on camera, on instrument, and multiple reliable eye witness accounts. Whatever it is it’s not Venus low in the sky or light reflections or film grain. It’s physical.
Only question is whether they’re above top secret U.S objects (unlikely) Chinese or Russians, which we better hope not... or.....

Zef did mention UFO's the other day also know as UAP's. I realise that people understand the vastness of space and the unimaginable distances between inhabited planets both within an also beyond our Galaxy thus taking a dim view that travel between these planets could be even remotely possible. Having said that if there are super advanced beings out there that are capable of interstellar travel then they would have been aware that light speed is far to slow and have the ability to travel at many multiples of the speed of light. Otherwise they would never get to where they are going.

And there’s that whole relativity thing where you dash off for a year beyond light speed and when you return home centuries, even millenia has passed. It’s a problematic thing. All very weird.

Zef, I am kind of a bit sceptical about time relativity and light travel because we have not even come close and the testing of the theory is a long way off. What I was referring to with multiples of light travel is 1,000 to 1,000,000,000 times the speed of light or even be able to bend twist and alter the space/ time fabric for instantaneous travel between two points regardless of distance.

Time for PVL to address a long standing problem that is being ignored. Crowds. "Magic round" 130k, round 11 102k. These are terrible figures and as interest wanes it is likely participation will follow. This is already happening. Look at how many districts cannot run their own comps once the teenage years are reached. All this with an increasing general population.

Mdog, I cannot see V'Lad the Impaler changing his mind or rescinding any decisions as that means admitting he was wrong. From my point of view, I do like the speeding up of the game (i.e getting rid of the wrestle) and removing the blatant thuggery from the game. What I don't like is the now almost touch football style of play and with high shots, the players that are taking dives make the Italian soccer players look like amateurs. BTW, I loathe the 6 again rule. Plus bring back the true working of the scrum and clean up the PTB.
