This thread is a great example of why football in this country is in the state it is. People here (who all follow football) are more interested in a political argument than the part that is actually to do with football and what's good for football.
Forget about politics for one minute and think about the implications for football.
Every other code has indigenous jerseys, and they would all be making a truckload of cash through selling replicas to punters and from gaining extra sponsorship from big business for those indigenous jerseys.
If it's acceptable for every other code, why not football?

As said 3rd kit with black, red and yellow pls. Would love to see a simple design with those colours with the Australian crest. Would love to see us play a team like Brazil  who we clash wiith for 1st and 2nd kits  in those colours. Might trigger some PTSD for Brazil with the Belgium and German colours too. 

I guess the main issue is that they're not uniquely Australian, they are part of our identity as a nation though so I don't see it being an issue to incorporate elements from them.

But just so I understand your position:
1. People, like myself, who believe all races are equal, and that our national team should not recognize any one race over any other, are 'racists and 'clueless'.
2. People, like yourself, who believe we should celebrate one particular race but not others, or that our national team jersey should 'give a nod' to one particular race, are virtuous, smart and not racist?

You claim to be for equality, but everyone in this forum has seen how much of a racist you are.

It's not racist to think we don't need to celebrate Anglo-Saxon culture. The centre of Australian culture is Anglo-Saxon, its the way we speak, the way our government is run and the people who occupy the most positions of power. There's nothing wrong with having or being proud of having British heritage, I do and I am.


There's nothing inherently damaging about Anglo culture anymore than any other culture, but if your desire to 'celebrate' it means rejecting even one tiny acknowledgement of the people who have lived on this land for tens of thousands of years, whose culture exists nowhere else in the world but here, all in the name of celebrating Anglo-Saxon culture, you're damaging the culture you're trying to 'celebrate'. Only bringing up Anglo-Saxon culture in response to people trying to celebrate other cultures is disingenuous. You're not actually trying to celebrate the culture, you're trying to dismiss someone else's.
