+x+xI reckon they may be waiting for the decision on independence to be finalised. you have to factor in the fixture as well. will they be playing 11 or 12 home games next season? that will affect all teams from a revenue standpoint. I guess that can be said about all teams as well. I wonder if the teams playing less home games will reduce the prices of their memberships.

“Head of the A-League Greg O'Rourke has confirmed the competition is set to have its regular season cut from 27 to 26 games.“ https://www.goal.com/en-au/news/ffa-confirm-a-league-seasons-will-get-shorter/drcdrcvvupng1t6qrpjxhi5ysif that helps?

No dramas, hard to say but every second season is a 13 round home season so I’d imagine they’d stick to that plus maybe a price increase for inflation. also depends who the additional three home games are against I guess - Victory, Sydney and Wanderers souls command more than Mariners, Nix, and Jets say.

I can't believe, after all has been said about the lack of football professionals in their country play and the effects on player development, that we are SHORTENING the season.

Even when they get to 14 teams (whenever that may be), I assume everyone will play each other twice and there will still be only 26 H&A games. Need to get to 16 teams eventually.

+xEveryone’s playing 13 home games not next season we aren't. with 11 teams, there will be byes. If we are moving to 26 rounds (which O'Rourke has confirmed), that means 23 games each and 3 byes. So some teams will be playing 11 home games and some teams will be playing 12. This will surely affect club revenues? in 2020-21 we'll be back to an even number of teams, meaning 13 home games each.

O Rourke and FFA don’t even know what they’re doing. Competence has never been their strong point. The wording used is confusing. Is it 26 matches per team, or is it 26 rounds/match days for the league? I think they mean each team will play 26 matches, but it is not entirely clear. Don’t forget though, for an 11 team league with each team playing 26 matches, you’ll need either 29 rounds with the last round having only 3 matches or 26 rounds with teams to play more than one match per round. Ie some mid week matches.

-PB It should be. WU have already poached two of their starting XI players in Burgess and Kurto. Other players like Williams (Who still hasn't signed a new deal for next season) and Taylor (Before his extension) have been linked.

If it's only Nix losing out I can't see any reason why the FFA should pursue it, any loss their team suffers has no bearing on Australian football.
Let NZ Soccer have a cry, but of course if they did that it would be their first involvement in professional football in their history, so I won't be holding my breath.

Western United quickly becoming the biggest pieces of crap in the league without even kicking a ball. That's a fair effort.

Whether or not you like the Nix or not, they don't deserved to be scumbagged from within. The FFA should absolutely investigate whether or not Rudan has had any input into WU signings whilst contracted to the Nix especially the players who have left Wellington. If he did, then it most certainly breaches FFA and FIFA laws in regards to contracts.
