+x+xKeep it up Macarthur. Pressure on all Sydney clubs to lift. doesnt WSW have these things already? Yes but if there is no competition in the HAL, there isn’t much incentive to push for further innovation and progress.

Australian soccer royalty Frank Farina will head Macarthur FC’s newly-unveiled indigenous soccer academy, which will be based in Campbelltown’s future Centre of Excellence. The former Socceroo coach and indigenous man was today announced as the director of football for the high-performance program, to be known as the Charles Perkins Soccer Academy. Charles Perkins, from the Arrenrnte and Kalkadoon people, was one of Australia’s finest indigenous footballers and civil rights activists. Farina said he was excited about the chance to discover talented indigenous footballers. “The Charles Perkins Academy project is one that can create real impact in people’s lives and for that reason I’m excited to be involved,” he said. “This academy is not only about delivering great opportunities for young indigenous players, but also about promoting understanding and celebrating the diversity that is so much a part of Australian life. “From a football perspective, we know there will be hidden gems out there and we can’t wait to find them.” The Macarthur FC initiative will rollout nationally and look to unite the many active programs under one umbrella. The academy will also work to help other A-League clubs engage in reconciliation initiatives such as pioneering an indigenous football round.

The board of the Charles Perkins Soccer Academy will include Indigenous Business Australia director Roy Ah See, consultant Richard McGuinness, artist Danielle Mate Sullivan, writer and publisher Bonita Mersiades and Western Sydney University pro vice chancellor of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education Professor Michelle Trudgett. The academy follows the club’s decision to choose ochre as a team colour to represent the traditional colours for the local Dharawal Aboriginal people, on whose land the Macarthur region sits. https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/macarthur/frank-farina-to-lead-macarthur-fcs-charles-perkins-indigenous-soccer-academy/news-story/80ba431aa9094c9959fc45f594a8976c?fbclid=IwAR1KDOEbi3y2rlXh6wLFToUCHnNOQ9T3u0OX2BIIyqKkHpdi1-dZD4L7BqM

Everything this club is doing seems to be coming together. I like what they're doing off the field.
Besides from wanting the league to do well, the only reason I don't mind Western United is because I like their kit. Nothing more. Western United almost feel as though they're the complete opposite of Macarthur, an anti-Macarthur.
Macarthur really seem to be engaging with the local community, but also seem to be making all the right noise when it comes to putting together the club. All this without kicking a ball or having a coach yet.

It'd be good to see what he can do in the men's game. He should have had his time a long time ago at Heart.

Macarthur FC’s brains trust will boast a Matilda’s flavour with the club’s inaugural head coach Ante Milicic hiring his trusted right-hand man Ivan Jolic as an assistant coach. Jolic has held coaching positions at A-League clubs Melbourne City and Central Coast Mariners before more recently holding the post of Matilda’s assistant coach alongside Milicic. The 45-year-old said he was excited at the opportunity to play a key role in building the incoming A-League club. “This region has produced so many top players and it’s very exciting to have the opportunity to build a club in such a hotbed of talent,” he said. “The passion of the people here is attractive and infectious. It’s an ambitious club with a positive environment and appetite to succeed at every level.

A Camden-based business will be Macarthur FC’s inaugural major sponsor with the new A-League franchise today announcing a total of $15 million in sponsorship for the club’s next three years. Construction business Wisdom Homes was announced as the club’s principal front-of-shirt partner, with its subsidiary business Hoot Homes’ logo to appear on the team’s shorts. “We see this partnership with Macarthur FC as a great way of giving something back tothe community that has been so supportive of us.”Macarthur FC executive chairman Rabieh Krayem said the community’s corporate support was inspiring.
“To have reached this partnership milestone before we have kicked a ball shows what great support there is for a football club this region can call its own,” he said. Stanno Australia was announced as the club’s apparel and merchandise supplier and Australian technology company Solos revealed as shorts sponsor and technology partner. https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/macarthur/15m-of-corporate-support-announced-by-macarthur-fc/news-story/5aedbbd5603f1c7338661aa9ec9037a1

Honestly thought they would go with a bigger name like Nike or Adidas. Does Stanno supply kits for anyone significant? Get the mock ups happening people! EDIT: Found this on Google, you'd hope that they wouldn't just get given a template kit but even so this wouldn't been the worst jersey in the league once logos and sponsors are added...

I don't think that's going to be the foundation home kit. They mentioned that there would be a special once-off kit. Saying that, it doesn't look half bad. They were smart to go with the ochre as a third colour, it's really going to make them stand out.

I know todays membership gets all of those things.... I'm saying some of their 'fans' think this foundation membership gets them access to games and others are annoyed that it doesn't get them into games.
I think the way they released it has confused a lot of people

I’m impressed with how they are getting on with things, building the foundations now and using their time wisely.
They have no excuse not to get things right given the time they have, which is the opposite to WU, but at least MFC have engaged well at an early stage. WU took their time to focus on the squad and then started engagement, which really left next to no time to embed that support and interest.

They are doing more good than bad, unlike Western United they building links to the community i guess it's one of the good things of coming into the a league later is they can build the foundation they need to have.
They just got to build a team now, when are they allowed to sign players for next season?
