+x+x+x+xThe rumour mill is going strong. Not only Ninkovic but Le Fondre and Redmayne to Macarthur is the latest. Source is SBS which rates just above SST. very lazy build your own team Nonsense. Over 80% of the squad has to be Australian and they will all be contracted at the moment. Everyone coming off contract at the end of the year is fair game and all clubs will be talking to some of them. As for imports the same goes. Pay up and sign them or risk losing them. Just because the can do it doesn't mean neutral fans should applaud it. Fact is a new club should be trying to establish a something unique. Bringing quality foreign players into the league is one way to do that. Just look at Shinji Ono for Wanderers in their first season. If Western United can go searching for (and find) quality visa players outside of Australia then so can Macarthur. It's not only Macarthur that will be approaching players coming off contract but all clubs will do it as they do every season. Fact is Macarthur has a full squad of players they have to sign so any good players that are available will obviously be looked at. I would expect that having lived in Croatia for a couple of years Milicic will have seen quite a lot of players that he would be interested in but like all good imports they won't be approachable until the end of this season and the same will be the case for any overseas Aussies that he might want to bring home. The agents of the players from the A-League that don't have ongoing contracts will be chatting to every club to gauge any interest in their players. It's what happens.

Lang Walker/Walker Corporation has further extended their involvement in the South West Sydney community with a donation of up o $26m to WS Uni to establish a medical research facility in Macarthur and a Chair in built environment at the uni. This added to their majority ownership of Macarthur Bulls and sponsoring the Charles Perkins Soccer Academy is a significant contribution to the region.

Surely these players would be on their list Bernie Ibini Rhys Williams Jack Duncan Oliver Bozanic Tomi Juric Alex Gersbach (loan) Cameron Burgess Jason Geria Spiranovic Jedinak Imagine this - then fill bench with youngsters and NPL players Duncan Geria, Williams, Spiranovic, Gersbach Jedinak, Bozanic Ibini, Visa, Visa Juric

Note the use of "new club" rather than "established club" and the examples used of the wanderers inaugural season and Western United. I know you have an axe to grind against Kosta but come on mate.

Macarthur will do what is best for Macarthur. The suggestion that they should care about the squad strength of their opponents is just silly. The bottom line is that there is more opportunity for aspiring professional footballers in Australia.

Lang Walker seem to be the best sponsor out there, salt of the earth kind of people. Also, Macarthur fc shop to open downstairs at Macarthur Square in January which tells me, new jerseys and apparell to come out rather soon.

Glen Moss is apparently going to retire at the end of the season and become MFC’s GK coach. https://twitter.com/aleaguehub/status/1220499396049039360?s=21

ANTHONY CREA IN AS HEAD OF HIGH PERFORMANCE
MACARTHUR FC have secured the signature of one of Australian football’s most experienced coaches with Anthony Crea joining the club as Head of High Performance. Anthony played a central role in delivering a swag of silverware during his spell with Melbourne Victory and has worked with some of the Australian game’s biggest names including Harry Kewell, Mark Schwarzer, John Aloisi, Tim Cahill, just to name a few.
Born and bred in Liverpool, Anthony understands the community as well as anyone and the long-standing appetite for a team to call their own. “When you do your job, you do it to the best of your ability. But I think when it becomes local, it becomes personal. You always invest a little bit more and it hits the heart a little bit differently,” Anthony said. Since starting his career in 1997 at Marconi Soccer Club, Anthony has been part of some of Australian football’s most memorable moments, including the 2004 Olympics and the unforgettable 2006 FIFA World Cup campaign that saw Australia reach the finals for the first time in 30 years.

MACARTHUR FC’S LOCAL INVESTMENT GROWS
MACARTHUR FC’s future was strengthened today with investment committed from two new local businesses.
As the Club moves into its next phase, two local families, the Gerace and Mammone families, will formally support the Club as a new shareholder. Walker Corporation will continue as a major five-year sponsor of Macarthur FC, while the Gerace and Mammone families will take Walker’s place as a shareholder, strengthening both the local support and investment in the Club to keep expanding and providing pathways for local footballers. “The goal from the beginning was to establish a professional football club for the region’s future generations – we have successfully established a grassroots club thanks to the strong and significant support from local businesses and communities, junior football associations, and Macarthur’s local councils,” Walker Executive Chairman Lang Walker AO said. “And now as the Club moves into its next phase, local investment will help it deliver opportunities to the region, while Walker will continue our support in the health and wellbeing of the community through our investment in the Macarthur Medical Research Centre.”
Roy Mammone, said he was thrilled as one of the regions largest employers to have the opportunity to support Macarthur FC and the region. “The Club’s next phase is only possible because of the significant support and investment from the current shareholders, businesses like Walker, local home builder Wisdom Homes, Australian tech innovators Solos and homes.com.au, as well as the Club’s community partners, Campbelltown City Council, local shopping centre Macarthur Square and Western Sydney University,” Macarthur FC hit the ground running, establishing a Centre of Excellence and a grassroots community engagement program to support three local football associations, representing 28,000 players and more than 90 clubs.
Michael Gerace added: “The Club is very excited to be so close to our inaugural season. I’m looking forward to seeing families and football fans getting behind the region’s first professional football club.”
Macarthur FC Executive Chairman Rabieh Krayem said “This investment by two of the most successful business people in the Macarthur region is a great endorsement of the Hyundai A-League and the achievements of the club.”

You'd think Lang as an owner would be better for the Bulls.

+xYou'd think Lang as an owner would be better for the Bulls. It depends, is he a football person? A large ownership group is usually better than ownership concentrated on one rich individual. Maybe Lang invested because he can see the social good in his region getting a team, but isn't really that interested in football. If the new owners are football lovers it will be good for the club IMO.

MV have a broad group of investors and it pools together corporate networks & skills. Much safer than a sugar daddy approach where all the eggs are in one basket ie. Tinkler & Palmer.
