+x+x+xI work down in the Camden/Narellan area a few days a week which is smack bang in the middle of their catchment area. The growth in population and development that I’ve witnessed myself is crazy. Talking to a lot of football fans down there, most seem to be adamant they will continue supporting WSW. Despite this, I reckon rams will be a hugely supported club. They’re a very proud and involved community which still has that very country style feel to it where everyone gets around it. I don’t agree with their inclusion but I don’t think they will be a concern like WU are. I wouldn't hold them to that. Macarthur is close enough for an away trip but far enough that travelling every fortnight will get annoying. When I moved to Oran Park I stopped going to WSW games altogether. Now that I'm back in the West I have started again, but I eventually will move back to the Campbelltown area. I'm about 70-90% sure I'll be switching to Macarthur FC when I do. I expect many of the new arrivals to do the same, even if they don't know it yet. Sorry mate, but you are everything that is wrong with sport in this country. You can't just swap backwards and forwards between clubs. did you forget, this is australia. people switch teams all the time down here and theres no consequences for doing so

+xThe way this club may eat into the Wanderers fan base is still a huge risk. It’s like killing the golden goose. It’s not all about population and metrics. I would have preferred Canberra but that’s old news and an old argument, so maybe next time for us, when we go from 12 to 14 teams and before pro/rel. In the meantime, I hope this new franchise succeeds and also doesn’t have a negative effect on WSW. Yeah thats the fear, but also theres a chance that it could fuel up a new and solid rivalry and we should be hoping for that. It could create a real clash between the North and South of Western Sydney.

The review of the potential clubs was done by Deloitte's and in their report 17% (2,944) of Wanderers members lived in Macarthur's territory. I am aware of quite a number of people that intend to switch but the majority aren't intending to switch.

The men running Macarthur FC have fired back at criticism of their progress in building a new club in readiness for the new season. Former Socceroo Robbie Slater had warned the group’s new powerbrokers that “alarm bells are ringing” after key backer Lang Walker sold his 50 per cent stake, the chairman was bumped and the technical director was sacked last week. The new club will enter the A-League in October, and so far has announced only one signing – former Socceroo Tommy Oar, currently with the Mariners. But new chairman Gino Marra said the club would welcome Slater to visit their offices and go through their plans, with foundation coach Ante Milicic starting to assemble his inaugural squad for their first campaign. It’s understood that around 10 players have been signed so far, from Australia and overseas, but will only be identified once their clubs are out of contention for honours or finals. Marra insisted the club was ahead of some expectations, with a “foundation membership” drive currently halted at 3000 and full memberships to go on sale shortly. ... https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/football/chaos-at-macarthur-fc-before-a-ball-even-kicked-with-football-director-forced-out/news-story/d5066fc3356be9e066c1565858bc8b1c

Heard Dennis Genreau will over there, Bulls should go for Rostyn Griffiths as their DM as well. His experience and physical game is important for the new club, even as captain.

Twitter posts from zenithsem . If I recall correctly this is the same site that made allegations about Wanderers during their first year and I think was pro Qatar getting the WC instead of Australia.
"Campbelltown Croatia" NEWS - @FFA & @ALeague bosses are opening their eyes with implosion of @mfcbulls under stewardship of "Honest" @Gino_Marra & "Citizen" @SKrslovic .. sackings, walkouts, broken promises, fake sponsors, fake academy owned by others, missed TReplying to @Zenith_SEMsponsors withdrawing interest, illegal poker machine trading, fraudulent acquisition of other people's IP, abuse of office at @SDSFAFootball, no more "proof of funds" ... as a prominent rival bidder pronounced this week "everybody in the game has been duped"1🆉🅴🅽🅸🆃🅷 🆂🅴🅼@Zenith_SEM·... time for @rorkygreg

Continuing there good development, whilst were yet to see them play and much traction they actually get going, what there crowd numbers and memberships are all like, theres been many positives. This foundation package looks like a smart move, selling a one off purchase, get some kits out and about, let the fans promote the team themselves by wearing the colours. A lot better then how West United paid a bunch of people to paint there faces green, black and white and say some shitting 'togetherness' and 'united' messages. Lesson for future could be to allow new franchises 8-12 months ahead of there arrival into the league to develop there franchise to there catchments and regions of fans.

Hope the team will attract enough quality in players, with all the complications of late, so much potential with this team. Excellent home ground as a major advantage.

Macarthur-ites, now that FFA have stifled your pre-season with an August start up, as opposed to even a July restart, how will the new club go about assembling a squad, playing min 3 trials and finding cohesion? I know, they will have to postpone your new team's entry, to the following season.

Pre season kinda starts around august-September, but assume the usual seasonal start of October may be delayed to mid to late November. Provide a gap between the end of the resumed season and the start of the 20/21, also less cross over for NRL and AFL with A-league for the opening matches, due to the NRL and AFL being delayed and pushed back in the year.

Looks like they’re planning on competing next season if they’re starting training next month then.

Possibly, you never really know, heard from someone who follows mariners and knows people in the club, that they think no one really knows whats going on. But seems intentions are obviously to survive through this and want to keep some of there key players.

Apology to @RabiehKrayem from @TheWorldGame & @lewieatlarge over an article in February. (I wonder who the source was for the original story? Surely not a FFA Board member?) https://t.co/Cq8pIfNWCM— Bonita Mersiades (@bonitamersiades) May 12, 2020" On 24 February 2020, SBS published an article on SBS The World Game website, and SBS The World Game’s Twitter and Facebook accounts, which referred to Mr Rabieh Krayem. Rabieh Krayem complained that the article conveyed a number of false allegations about him. To the extent that any reader understood the article as conveying those allegations, SBS withdraws those statements.
"SBS and Mr Lewis apologise to Mr Rabieh Krayem for any distress caused to him.
