Great news, hopefully Sains gets his chance at last.

I think he's taking a big risk staying at PSV. We've got some depth in the centre of defense, if he's not getting gametime he could lose his spot in the Socceroos. However if he pulls it off he'll be one of the first selected. Could go either way

Schwaab is leaving PSV.

What he will do next season is not yet known. It seems logical that he is aiming for a German or Swiss club, where names such as Greuther Fürth, SC Freiburg or FC Basel are conceivable. PSV, with Derrick Luckassen, Trent Sainsbury, Nick Viergever and Armando Obispo, still have enough defenders in the short term, but will in any case attract a newcomer. In many media the name of the Mexican Edson Álvarez (21) from Club América falls, but it is currently considered too expensive.

Great news, hopefully Sains gets his chance at last.

Hahaha. Comparing Bebou and Mabil. Bebou is a player with huge potential and Mabil’s ceiling is probably a bottom tier top 5 league club.
These clubs have incredibly detailed scouting structures. Don’t pretend there’s some sort of conscious bias involved.

So Hannover are Bundesliga 2. If Mabil's ceiling is a top 5 lower team, wouldn't it be a decent fit? A lot of clubs do have decent scouting. Hannover on the other hand would have to be one of the worst. The number of people I've spoken to at the club about it confirm that they barely know who are out there. It appears agents do a lot of pitching as well.

Now that Hannover have their new manager and director, it kills me to see the blindness of their scouting department. I teach one of the assistants and often here how small their network is.

They moan about not being able to find a centre back. Why not approach Sainsbury for a loan? They complain they've lost Bebou to Hoffenheim. How about looking at Mabil who has many similarities? They've crying out for a young, classy midfielder. There's this guy called Riley McGree who'd have decent potential.

Will all signings be successful? Of course not! It's just frustrating that Hannover have essentially ignored the Australian and South American regions for their recruitment. The last Aussie at Hannover was Frank Juric.

Santalab scores in the first half of his  NPL sojourn.. Leijer has been taken to the Hospital with what looked like a nasty head collision.

EDIT: Valeri on a yellow.

Hoole to Edgeworth. Perfect example of a talented footballer being held back by his poor attitude.

is this the same article where they said mooy was worth $75 million at one stage?

Australian left backs are in short supply, at least good ones

True but Kitto was converted into one and did well. I want a youth or NPL left back to give him competition and backup.

We also need a DM, AM and a striker as well. The latter two position have an even shorter supply of quality Australia players.

Spectacular decline in his career path. Must be much more to the story like persistent injury or personal problems or maybe he has another job.

If you need a L.B. it's worth noting this guy seems to have played most of his career in that position. Certainly that's where Bielsa played him until Valverde took over and dropped him. I know who's judgement out of those two managers I prefer.

We do need a LB but I don’t want to use a visa spot on one. I just want one a natural LB to give backup and competition to Kitto.

Jakobsen made the HAL team of the year while this guy was playing in the Spanish 3rd Division before joining Comets. We also only have 3 visa spots left (one of which may be wasted on a kid from the Chinese third division) and we need a DM, 10, striker and a LB.

This guy just simply wouldn’t be a good signing for us but maybe handy for a club that has a spare visa spot.

He played nearly 100 games in La Liga and 20 in Europa League. Before last season he played Scotish Premiership. He might be kinda okay.

Isaias
was playing in Spanish 3rd div before he came here.

Maxi Beister played plenty of Bundesliga games early in his career and look where he’s at now. I’m not saying that this guy is terrible, but if he still was the player he once was, then I highly doubt he’d be playing in the NPL at age 27.

Also Isaias’s last season in Spain was in the second division.

Let’s face it, if you’re a 27 year old visa player in the NPL, then you aren’t that good, simple as that.

He literally has played 100 games in La Liga. He lives in Adelaide. He’d be on a tiny wage. This signing is a no brainer. Would probably be better than Jakobsen at a fraction of the price.

Newcastle would be interesting now that it looks like the club has been sold. Benitez apparently has been a long-time admirer but would he still be interested if he has a lot more funds available to spend in the transfer market? Of course, it would be great if Mooy went there and played regularly in a much stronger team than Newcastle were last season.
