Oh rusty

Complains about vicious, personal attacks on ScoMo. "Typical of the left" etc etc.

Then talks about throwing acid in the face of a politician, failing to see the hypocrisy in the process.

But even I am terrible, it doesnt excuse the left for their behaviour does it?  The left is still vicious and evil, regardless of what rusty does.

Hmm nah I'd say what you just said was just about the worst thing I've seen on this forum.

I don't remember anybody taking about mutilating Scott Morrison.

My response was motivated by the lefts reaction to Rush Limbaughs cancer diagnose and the various news platforms and public persons who openly and candidly celebrated the fact he had advanced lung cancer, and the subsequent silence from the left media who condone such appalling behaviour.  Celebrating someones cancer diagnosis is about the most heinous thing you can do, much worse more than my obviously sarcastic comment about throwing Ell Wazza in an acid vat.

Rush Limbaugh was a c*nt who's life's work was to propagate hatred of homosexuals, minorities and the poor. He deserves to spend the rest of his life in agony. Hopefully hell is real too, because that's where he's going.

See this is exactly what Im talking about.  When I say something off colour all the lefties are quick to wave their little naughty fingers at me, yet when 433 basically orgasms over the fact that his political nemesis has cancer there is crickets.

It just proves how selective the left are dispensing their moral and confected outrage.

Bernie Sanders is the ultimate hypocrite.  The twat owns multiple mansions and has net worth easily exceeding a million, yet has the gall to complain about then rich while pretending to be on the side of working and middle class Americans so they vote for him.  I hope he suffers a heart attack or catches coronavirus and dies a miserable painful death, and spends eternity burning in hell because he is an evil wannabe dictator who hates small business people and inspires hatred against Republicans that directly lead to political violence and attempted murder.

That is exactly the modern day Left wing voter.  They positively drip with hypocrisy

I suspect deep down its a guilt complex and rather than self-flagellate, they take on whatever grievance/minority cause of the day, go the odd rally with their placards and chants, drive home in their SUV to resume their comfortable middle-class lives, telling themselves and Jacinta and Tristan their kids "Be Proud kids.  We DID something about it...".

Not sure I agree with wishing a horrible death, even though he is an Old White Male, which SHOULD please the Left, but you can never be sure.

Not sure why you can't be rich and want to help people have basic health care or a free tuition or have perhaps live in a more equitable and just society where billionaires pay more taxes than their secretaries.  Yeah what more prick Sanders is.

What's he supposed to do?  Live in a cave so he can spruik his povo credentials.

Such a pathetic crock of shit argument.

Yes you are 100% correct.  For the left its far more important to show virtue rather than practice it.  Lip service and placards and hating Trump and supporting LGBTQ rights are the only things you need to do to prove that you are a deeply compassionate and highly moral person, unlike all the unwashed deplorables on the right who hates blacks and gays.  The DOING part of virtue, the actual act of volunteering for worthy causes and providing resources (money), well thats too much work and inconvenience, and interferes with their ability to buy iphones, flat screen tvs and high end fashion labels that are built on the exploitation of slave wage earners in poor foreign countries.

The perfect example of how inane the left is the Q and A audience, how when they look doe eyed and nod their heads eagerly whenever some progressive guest starts spewing platitudes about climate change and human rights, before bursting into thunderous applause that shakes the heavens, yet when its a conservative providing a balanced common sense perspective they have these snarling scowls on their faces and vigorously shake their heads with disapproval as if someone suggested we start killing babies (oops thats a leftist policy).

Not at all.  Sanders earns well above the minimum wage, to preach equality and not practice it is the definition of hypocrisy.  The idea of outsourcing the tax burden to billionaires is just a convenient way to maintain the pretence of the moral high ground without having to give up any of your own resources and capital.  Its PURE HYPOCRISY.  Besides there are far more millionaires and billionaires, why shouldnt people who are disproportionately privileged compared to everyone else  not pay more in taxes?  Ill tell you why, its because people are selfish and like to keep what they have, and that applies to socialist millionaires like Bernie, who probably has wads of cash under his bed and counts his money every night before he goes to sleep.  If you were serious about socialism and equality, you would give up your excess wealth and give it to the poor.  Or you would open up that spare bedroom in your house to some homeless guy so he can sleep in a bed rather than a dumpster.  But we, all people, prize our privacy, independence, money and materialist things over the welfare of others.  At the end of the day socialists like Sanders dont want real equality, what they really want is to feel they are more equal than those on the right, by promoting policy that is itsy bitsy more egalitarian, so they can have sit around and have a circle jerk about how moral and compassionate they are.

Nailed it Rusty.

That's why their side of politics is getting hammered by the very people they proclaim to be helping--"Oh but they're voted against their interests, oh but they didn't understand it because they're uneducated, oh but the media, oh but the political donors".

Everyone can see through their bullshit except them.

The classic was how they beat themselves up in to a frenzy arguing that the Brexiteers "now regretted it, they were misinformed and would change the vote if they could"  That went all quiet after Boris's landslide.

Not for long I bet.  They will try to make the next election all about Brenter (reentering the EU) as a false flag to sneak their next communist leader into government.

It's not about giving up everything you own.  Why can't you understand that?  Its not an all or nothing proposition.

For example I would happily pay an extra 1 per cent surcharge on my medicare levy if it meant poorer people could access free dental care.  It's practically no skin off my nose but would improve the lives of those in need.

I would pay an extra 2 percent if it meant we could all retire earlier or university or apprenticeships are free.  For the same reason as above.  It's fuck all in the big scheme but it makes the world of difference to others.

What is so bad about that?

I don't have to give away all my money to want a more equitable world.  It's nonsensical to suggest that. By your logic only a bloke living in a lean to without a brass razoo would be qualified to speak about poverty.

I don't care how much money people make.  It's what makes the world go round and drives civilisation forward.  But is it fair that a billionaire pays less taxes than you?

In your warped world probably.

Screw the billionaires. That's what is known as an edge case being used to argue is the norm.

What your lot does is use the argument derived from a small number of very wealth individuals who often have legitimate reasons as to why they didn't pay much or any tax in a year to enact social and tax policies which go after the top 10% of income earners who are paying more of income tax collected and as a greater percentage of their income than at any time in the last quarter century,

Straight from the Lefty playback: Envy, Class wars and division.  Screw the truth and facts

These are the facts when it comes to income taxes in Australia.  When will it be enough for your lot, exactly?  When will you have "equality"?  When will things be "fair"

"In addition to the overall falling share of personal income taxpayers, there appears to be an increasing concentration of the personal income tax incidence on those on higher taxable incomes, and reducing tax incidence on those in the bottom half of the income distribution (Chart 8a and 8b). In particular, the share of taxable income accruing to the top decile of taxpayers increased by 5 percentage points, while the share of revenue collected increased by 9 percentage points.

The increasing tax concentration, beyond trends in taxable income growth, appears to be particularly influenced by the income tax compensation designed as part of the introduction of the GST, and the mining boom, with a subsequent share stabilisation since the global financial crisis. The increasing concentration means that, in 2015-16, the top 5.4 per cent of the adult population (the 10 per cent of taxpayers or the approximately one million taxpayers earning more than approximately$126,000) contributed 45 per cent of personal income tax revenues at an average tax rate of 36 per cent. By contrast, in 1994-95 the top 6 per cent of the adult population (the 10 per cent of taxpayers or approximately 800,000 taxpayers earning more than $48,750) contributed approximately 36 per cent of total personal income tax receipts at an average tax rate closer to 31 per cent.

I can actually buy some of that.  I too may pay an extra few % taxes if it meant free dental or better aged care.  Screw free education though, someone has to pay and you’ll get too many career students binging off the taxpayer and universities offering frivolous courses that provide no utility in the real world.  However none of those things are socialism, nor are they egalitarian, nor will they solve poverty, inequality or homelessness.  And should those things come to pass, the socialist imagination does not stop there, they would start agitating for the rest of their agenda such as nationalising banks, schools, media and transport, and once they control production they will start to control all aspects of society such as speech, religion and eventually the political process.  But what you will never is millionaires like Sanders and the apparatchik giving up their wealth to bankroll their utopia, instead this will be foisted on the lower and middle class, while billionaires leave the country in droves taking billions in jobs, capital and investment with them.  Its a recipe for economic catastrophe.

So while Sanders may have some reasonable debatable policies regarding healthcare etc, they are really the thin edge of the wedge in terms of what is the pursuit of a Marxist ideological agenda.  Very dangerous.

Anyone who feels they pay too little tax- I don't- can pay more tax. On the part of your tax return labelled Deductions, write NIL.  Or better still donate to a charity of your choice so that the money goes where you want it.  And then still right NIL. I would actually respect that.

Rusty, you've hit on an important point.

What you describe has happened in every socialist state in the past.  The problem is those on the Left are too young to know about it.  What they do know is either very old information form the days of Marx himself, and or very recent as told by the current wave of university Marxist hacks masquerading as teachers.

The young Leftist minds are seduced by it all-and it is YOUNG minds, as you can tell from the demographics.  As such they have no idea where it is all going to end up.

This is why history of the 20th Century should be mandatory in Australian schools-but then the risk is a revision of it as seen through Marxists that infect the school education system as well.

Christ almighty, I thought the lefties were the ones who needed safe spaces? Yet here you are, having a sook.

Dont get too excited.  The lefties were all excited and full of beans when comrade Corbyn became Labour leader.  Then the election happened.

His ideas aren't too different from the Gough Whitlam era.  I don't mind old Bernie.

Unfortunately you lefties are "too young to remember" that Uncle Gough nationalised banks and the media, outlawed religion and free speech and sent all dissidents to the gulags.

Be careful what you wish for America.

He's really just an FDR democrat, nothing in his platform is really socialist at all (taxes and government programs =/= socialism).

Interesting question coming out of the US : if you were a Russian agent of interference and you wanted to surreptitiously support the candidate who would do the most damage to the USA, would you go for Trump or would you go for Bernie???
