+xSo Ange has been voted as the world's 30th best manager according to FourFourTwo (UK I take). Not a bad accolade if one must say. Pffftt... I'd have him at least 28.

Hard to see ange kicking on to something ‘better’ after this run. Been dismal. Even worse because of other results teams have gotten. really wanted a good run, but he’s been naive again.

pipe dream something better coming up - chicken before the egg but others thought otherwise. In the big picture he's a minnow talking europe despite the promising record to date. Get this season over, build up the squad more so it can compete better in next seasons CL then more notice will come.

+x+x+x+x+xIt's not really 'rubbish' is it? he has a point Look at teams that got a result just today: Maccabi against Juventus Copenhagen against City Shaktar against Madrid If they can get results in Europe against teams like that, then it's not impossible for celtic is it.... yer any small Club can jag a result from time to time, beauty of the game agreed. TBH its not about whats more to learn in the circumstances, its jagging the chance or 2, especially when a major Club is going through rebuild or lack of form. Juve for one, same goes for Sutho's Rangers tomorrow morn at Ibrox, LFC struggling, I can see the jag coming afraid to say, they may just get 1up on the Hoops and Angie baby, might I said :). Na, Liverpool smashed Rangers 7-1, they are flat track bullies, they got away with playing with donkeys as midfielders, workhorses that just pressured & an awesome front 3, with the great TAA feeding them. The better teams has worked them out now & Liverpool now struggles to break down the best defences. And most of them have played in 3 of the last 5 UCL finals. Some fuckin flat track bullies ! hehe flat track bullies is funny. Having been figured out they done ok today against one of the best world over let alone the epl champs. robbos is a ronaldo lad not surprised by his angle :) Sorry off topic, whats happenning with angie baby. Sorry off topic. Yes, it was tongue in cheek comment, very impressed with Liverpool under Kloop these last 4-5 years. Best frontline & TAA what an attacking defender. I suppose the Flat Track bully comment comes from Liverpool having very little in the midfield apart from hard runners & can struggle to break down top team defences when they sitting back.

thats players not being switched on early after re start more than anything else. 57min. They were attacking Shalke's box, lost possession and his back 3 more so 1 left alone in the middle caught out on a flunky counter. Plus they stood off him having recovered (3 of them) and allowed him plenty of time to shoot rest was history. Happens to the best of them. I don't know what more you would expect tbh that early in the game and Shalke missed quite a few chances long before in any case it was gonna come even if they parked the bus imo.

Celtic’s lowest point tally in a Champions League group stage campaign ever, Rangers with 0 points if this Champions League campaign has told us anything it’s still when it comes to this level that Scotland’s big two are still miles off this elite level and being clinical..... Well great experience for Angie got to say - having a greek/aussie amongst the CL is great to see but no fault of his in the picture being punted out. Do the Hoops have the funds to recruit another level of player x 2/3 ? Sure they lacked finish, what might have been but even the best of them in the CL don't convert but they have the cattle to survive and grind to qualify. Same goes for Rangers Sutho, mind you I expect others to say you got no $$'s. Is VBronckhorst gonna last ?

Must be gutted with CL performance this year but hopefully has another tilt at it next year with a better roster and more favourable draw.... 100% agree on the club connection attitude, it is the basic building block of the sport and i wish we embraced it more here.... I can't understand people who "just support the league" whether thats Aleague or old NSL or whatever.... never made sense to me. .... "South Melbourne wasn't really ... well, it wasn't just the football club for us, it was always more than that," Postecoglou said.

So they are not that bad, They surprised me as I thought they'd be stronger defensively Ange just flat out coached poorly and naively. Weaker clubs got a lot better results by playing smart. He had plenty of time with the squad and he did build them.

He recruited and built a team and system - on a shoestring - that competed in the CL and created enough chances to win several games. It's the players who let the system down and any decent judges will have taken note. I expect he'll now go into the transfer market looking for a much better striker and a Vieira type midfielder. That's the main thing missing in Europe for Celtic - probably needs to give Siegrist a run in goals also.

Sure, the attackers let him down (he did buy them though) But it's defensively that's an even bigger issue. Too many holes at the back. 1-0 in a must win game the other week, and they're got everyone around the box. Strong finisher and hard midfielder, would be fantastic. Wondering why he didn't already have though. IMO if Ange coached a exceptional team of footballers, they would be incredible to watch. He needs to do well in Europe to have that opportunity.

Would they win though? yer thats the ? - there have been countless coachs who want their squad playing attractive football in the big leagues and most have failed but defense wins titles game after game and the treasure chest used well. Trouble for me its the SPL with all due respect, 2 clubs who win forever and a day, maybe 2/3 loss's max a season therefore whoever is coaching them is in the box seat to get the accolades. Besides those 2 clubs the rest just don't have the resource to compete period so is it surprising seeing Ange's team look attractive through their season. Heck even SG looked good during his tenure as a green horn. Is Ange way better than Lennon who won 3 titles,2 Cups and qualied for a CL run ? We await whats to become in the future that is for sure.

the japanese boys are above SPFL level but once in the UCL its a different beast.
Ange needs to go for some proven players in the UCL. Maybe grab some from the lower euro UCL teams. Guys who have experience winning at this level.
