TBH I can stomach city winning for there is hardly any supporters I know, infact just 1, whereas quite a few gooner ones incl a team mate, they'll never shut up go Pep.

Nuts, like I said it "looks" like he has bottled it but infact has done pretty well for first year at EPL level. 

I saw a stat the other day and he has more points than Klopp arteta and someone else good at the same stage when they started coaching in the EPL

as jas88 mentions media, and more so UK football no surprise's there, thats football in the biggest league in the world.
Some posters here even surprise me with their expectations and conclusions like they know better.

Ange is Ange, has that snarky arrogant streak in him that comes out when the blow torch is on him, he should take a leaf from his normal flippant ways in the good times as tsf mentioned, thats his DNA and the media will always test him but he's done OK as I've mentioned imo, seriously could have been alot worse.

As many have said I actually think he HAS done well at Spurs.... they where a basket case and have been for a while, was always going to be a transition period for them losing Kane before a ball was kicked in agner etc etc... Main problem is Ange's meteoric early success now looks like Spurs have "bottled it" in the final stretch..... ... 

ange has to take the good with the bad, he goes on a charm and PR offensive when times are good but then gets his back up when criticized and put under pressure. He did the same with Aus when he said he should get more scrutiny from the media, then when he did he cracked it, 

I hope he gets the time to refresh his squad, because the truth is, with a great squad it would be awesome to see them play under him. I was hoping he; 'd do well at spurs then move to a really big club 

the English media are more at fault.. they built him up calling him the next Pep when Tottenham was top of the table in October. He was always going to have some bad results at some point. The draw he has made the last few weeks pretty crazy too. Expectations seemed to change but finishing 5th with no Kane and this squad is still an achievement.

Not sure its so cut and dry.. Spurs first 15-20 minutes was great football to watch....  I was relieved when Liverpool scored...  Son doesnt work as a central striker yet Ange insist (that bit I agree with you on) ,... I believe the reason is that Richarlison is not a 90 mins player and he has  no other option... 

Comfortable in the end for Liverpool but 10-15 mins in each half Spurs played some trully pretty football .. Spurs fans are crazy if they see this year as a failure, they haven't been so enjoyable to watch in a decade I reckon... UCL be damned.

I've watched united many games and at times didn't have any on target till late 2nd halves nor corners, their GD is at 1.
Spurs @ 11, 8 sides are on the positive side the rest @ --.
IF you expected more was coming with Ange at the helm this season your in lalaland.

But he 's only 2nd half coach. 0 on target in 1st half.  Under Ange the players only play for 45 minutes and wasting another 45. He can talk it's on him to fix but he can never fix this issue.

obviously will be a shake up just depends how much loaded Lewis US6.4B family/ENIC and Levy (29% share holder) open up, normally never enough to change the course of Spurs so hopefully AP finds some diamonds cheap in the rough.

yep its a ruthless world tFl - even I have been harsh at times and depending who but as I've quoted he's jumped in the deep end and heaps of baggage etcetc.....
I hope he's backed for he's worth it imo just no wins over LFC next season :)

I find it really mind boggling how people have responded to Ange over the last few months. 

Where was Tottenham before Ange? They lost their best player over the summer and are currently 5th. Most people were predicting them to finish well below their current position.

As Aussies who have followed his career, we should know better than to throw him under the bus. He has gone through this process over and over again (at least since I started following his Brisbane Roar team). Tottenham will come good if he is backed. I hope the club have let the doubt creep in. Just trust him. 

Can feel a Roar like shake up brewing.... although not sure it's possible given the upper echelons of EPL wages.

Sure we can all sit here and say he should do this should do that - no Plan B yaddayaddayadda.
Every gaffa has their ways and get found out - even the best do.
He's in the fire of the most competitive league of them all first time ever, lacking players, suffered key injuries, a nothing bench to a degree, so many other variables look at the clubs below them.
ETH/United has had a season under his belt, resources a plenty - they have failed everywhere but somehow jagged being in the cup final by the skin of their teeth.
Hammers look at them and Moyes has had a few seasons and seasoned campaigner.
Chelsea say no more, a resurgence of late but all way too late.
Toon, Howe has had 2 seasons and one with alot of loot for this season.
IF he manages P5/6/7 - without Kane I'll give him credit keeping the ship from sinking under the water.
Kane kept them from finishing lower than 8th last season they should have been 9th.
They are on 60points as they finshed last season with 3 to play, he grabs the 2wins upon city loss he's done ok apprenticeship for a newby.

They didn't complain about being 5th. They got worried about losing 4 in a row with poorest 1st half football week in week out and problems never been fixed. They didn't see future in Angeball. 

The end of the season is all it's matter. All good managers will finish it strongly not got going backwards. Angeball is getting worse every week.

I blame Ange for that for not getting his players understand his system. Some players looked lost 

Maybe communication problems or the players didn't trust him.

first 2 minutes golden... then just fell apart... they have 0 confidence... at some point he has to tell emerson to just stay back.. he cant be given license to go forward he cant get back and cover..The amount of times Romero gets the ball completely stops and waits a good 30sec-minute to pass it must drive Ange crazy. The passing is just way too slow... reminds me of the socceroos so much. 

I think there's two things at play here. 

1) The squad is really unballanced. This was highlighted really well by the guys over at Tifo, and it has been clear to see when more teams have worked out how to counter Ange's tactics. The lack of flexibility means Ange has very limited solutions to address tactical problems on the pitch.

2) The question of whether Ange can change the culture at Spurs. It is a culture of player power, mediocrity, and profit before silverware. 

yer agree, TBH the 1st half looked dire due to the score but I was anxious watching for they outplayed us a lot and won alot of 2nd balls to stifle our engine room.
They had more possesion might I add and @ Anfield.
We hit them on counters and the diff was finishing (thankfully we started putting them away compared to the last 4games) whereas Spurs broke down the final pass into our box many times.
Some good cross's right across our box but no one there a couple would have been tap ins.
Nontheless glad my LFC done the business (some rippa play and goals) BUT again lost the plot mid 2nd half and let them back in.
They had their chances making me squirm alot even though we had chances to finish them off really well.
Ange error was not starting up Maddison/Richarlson.
They play good football just need to get their defensive lines sorted ie Emerson terrible defending and Ange needs few more better players.

They have to get points from Burnley/Sheffield.
