Have Goodwin exhaust himself them bring either McGree or Mabil. I think Irvine's height will be useful. Mooy being touted but Genreau must start. I think Arnold is going to start Leckie and Stensness.

Question marks for me is still who plays number 6 and 8 and who will play left wing. Unless we go Stensness (or Dougall, who was very mediocre) we don't have an out and out 6 and we are more than likely going to go for Irvine or Mooy. Mooy is super calm on the ball and obviously will build up play well for us however you have to wonder whether he has the defensive nous and pace to match the Emiratis and Peruvians. Genreau was strong I thought too however he doesn't seem to be a 6. For me, McGree goes left wing or into 8. 

More questions come out of that Jordanian than answers and I don't think that is a good thing. 

I'm going for a similar team to you, however I think we need McGree's creativity ahead of one of Genreau or Goodwin. And perhaps Irvine misses out too, but for who I don't know.

D'agostino is the only forward player with a bit of sack. 

Duke for what he lacks in technical dominance make sup for in defending from the front and moving around - stuff JMAC thinks he is far too important to do. Taggert has a higher level of play but half the time you donlt know it the 25% of time taggert will rock up who is good, or the 75% of time Taggert who is useless at any level above a-league 

Mabil for me seems like a hinderance whenever he plays 

Need big games from Hrustic and Boyle. 

Rowles was our best back on the night.
Wright, a poor passer and gives the ball away way too much.
Dougall was poor.
Mooy is the best midfielder on the ball and along with HRUSTIC the best chance of creating penetration with a pass but Mooy is slow in defence.
Mclaren needs supplies and is no threat on his own.
Mabil frustrating, poor finishing, great opportunity to score another goal but poor decision/technique to go with the outside of his right foot and generally makes bad decisions.

I've just realised Jeggo isn't in the squad, why is that? Dougall played badly and Stesness has not been up to scratch so far.

I’ve been an advocate for dougall to be in the side as the 6 but off his performance the other day he is very very poor. 

How do people actually want Jeggo in the squad? Mid tier A-league player at the most with a great agent.

After an almost total lack of open play penetration in final 3rd v Jordan I would seriously consider bringing in G Kuol and Cummings as Front 2. Could they really not offer more of an open play goal threat than current squad options?!

150 games in Europe in a decent league. 

I agree, I've been asking for Dougall to be included for months - he really let me down. Passing was average, missed tackles, got dribbled past a few times. Just didn't bring his club form.
Stensness did ok considering he got thrown into the deep end, next to Metcalfe, against Japan in a must win game - ridiculous decision by Arnie. Look at his ratings at club level - he's very consistent. I reckon he deserves another chance. 
Arnie will probably play Irvine, Hrustic & Mooy - which would be a decent combination

I don't think you can play Genreau and Irvine together with McGree in the AM role.  Not enough steel in the middle

He was so out of his depth against Jordan that is would of been funny if it wasn't so sad that Australian national team standards are so low that a player of his ability is in the team.

Not bothered anymore who starts for it will be what it will be, all I want to see is whoever is on the pitch putting in 150% to FT, 150% effort do or die throw your body on the line.

Old games came up last night on youtube, watched a bit of Uruguay 06 game....

Damn, we were lucky. A lot of fans cry about decisions at the WC but Popovic shouldve been off very early in that game.

The stadium and excitement though - incredible. Amazing seeing the uruguayans freak out from the reception 

Mate I know your going to hate me for this but I dont think Im gonna get up for this tomorrow..... I just can't. Dont expect you to understand but this is so disappointing I just dont want to even entertain the faint glimmer of hope because Im sure it is just going to lead to NOTHING. First time in a VERY VERY long time.

In saying that I really, really, really hope I am just being melodramatic and I wake up in the morning and the headlines read "Socceroos Triumph" and 40 posters calling me a weak willed, plastic supporter... I really do :)
