+xhaha have faith, main thing is the title anyway. What the heck has happened to the Greens ? MK not that far behind. Definately a 4 horse race atm here. SO slipped to 9th now. Yeah Bentleigh is having a shocker..... They got gutted of players and cpach at the end of last season and are in a re-build phase.... a serious chance of being relegated this year which would be a shame.

I just wanna know who's playing well who to keep an eye out for Mate, FV does a half decent round review mid week and NPL.TV has highlights packages of most leagues. https://www.footballvictoria.com.au/news/nplm-round-12-previewMost clubs are active on facebook and twitter to some degree but there isnt very much out there in the way of un-biased review, opinion. Check out my buddy Paul's blog below. Its 99% South related only but you might be interested in the links to some old match day programs and the occasional tidbit from down in the NPL weeds... https://southmelbournefc.blogspot.com/

Sad to read you are getting disillusioned by the APL shenanigans... Get yourself down to a local NPL game (even if it IS blechhhh Oakleigh) , hopefully you will re-discover the real football :)

The APL "shenanigans" are nothing compared to what we experienced during the NSL. Let's not forget, the NSL was run by some of the same clubs that want to enter the NST.

You stated the "shenanigans" towards 1 body without the total story. There were greater "shenanigans" elsewhere. I said or implied nothing about effniks, as you put it. Another deflection. BTW, the NSL never mentioned cruise ships because all they had is tinnies.

+x+xgreat win to SMH over the weekend....... As for NSWNPL the Italians done good ! and SU might I add. SO coped a sound defeat by the Stallions. APIA re grouped and smashed newcomers Spirit. SFC were brought back down to earth by Rockdale. Let’s check out the mini reviews from Round 14 of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition. Wollongong Wolves 0 v Blacktown City 0 at WIN Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights Wollongong Wolves and Blacktown City played out a 0-0 draw in an exciting clash at WIN Stadium on Friday night. The Wolves dominated the chances throughout the match but couldn’t find the decisive touch to win the points, however, Blacktown City also had opportunities to claim victory. A missed second half penalty by Wolves striker Lachlan Scott was to be the hosts best opportunity, but the points were shared as Tristan Prendergast pulled off a heroic save that set the visitors on their way to earn a point. Bulls FC Academy 1 v Sutherland Sharks 2 at Sydney United Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights Sutherland Sharks fired home a late winner to claim an important three points against Bulls FC Academy on Saturday afternoon at the Sydney United Sports Centre. Jesse Photi found the opening goal for the Sharks in the 33rd minute before the Bulls’ Rhys Youlley levelled the scores just before halftime. Super-sub Connor Rose came off the bench to great effect scoring Sutherland’s second goal in the final two minutes of the match to secure the win. APIA Leichhardt 5 v NWS Spirit FC 0 at Lambert Park – Full Match Report and Highlights APIA regained its composure on the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s Premiership race following last week’s shock loss by handing NWS Spirit FC a heavy lesson with a clinical 5-0 victory at Lambert Park on Saturday. Jack Stewart opened the scoring in the 11th minute, striking the ball with his left foot. Despite a vital touch by Spirit keeper Christopher Marques, the shot was too powerful to be stopped. This would be only the beginning for APIA, as Rory Jordan and Sean Symons joined the scoresheet. After being the main attacking presence in the half, the former slotted the ball into the left-hand corner. The latter got the ball into the back of the net after a lovely assist from Jordan, who dribbled past three Spirit defenders. Sean Symons would continue his great performance scoring another two goals to claim a hat trick. His second goal was bulleted past Marques after an error in the Spirit defence in the 60th minute, whilst his third was scored into an open goal in the 63rd minute. Sydney Olympic 2 v Marconi 4 at Belmore Sports Ground – Full Match Report and Highlights The Marconi Stallions registered a highly entertaining 4-2 victory over old rivals Sydney Olympic in Round 14 of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition at Belmore Sports Ground on a chilly autumn Saturday evening. After a Round 5 Australia Cup NSW Preliminary loss against Olympic last week, Marconi were able to even the score and leave Olympic without a win for five National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s matches. An own goal from Marconi’s Roberto Speranza and one from Olympic defender Peter Politis were trumped by an own goal from Ben Van Meurs and goals from Domenic Costanzo, Kyle Cimenti and Chris Hatfield to give the visitors a valuable victory away from home. St George City 0 v Sydney United 58 1 at Penshurst Park – Full Match Report and Highlights Sydney United 58 FC swooped late into stoppage time through a Patrick Antelmi strike to snatch all three points against a gallant St George City in a phenomenal Round 14 clash at Penshurst Park on Saturday. St George City can justifiably feel aggrieved with the result because in many ways they threw the proverbial kitchen sink at Sydney United 58 but couldn’t penetrate, including a missed penalty that Danijel Nizic saved. However, football is game where chances must be converted, and St George City learnt that the hard way against a Sydney United 58 outfit that was desperate for all three points after a series of recent draws. Mt Druitt Town Rangers 2 v Western Sydney Wanderers 1 at Popondetta Park – Full Match Report and Highlights Mount Druitt Town Rangers picked up three vital points in their 2-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers at Popondetta Park on Saturday night. It was Mt Druitt Town Rangers’ first home win of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s campaign, and it was well earned. Nikola Djordjevic and Kotaro Katsuta fired home in the first half to settle the points as they look to continue their move up the ladder. Western Sydney Wanderers put in a huge shift despite being rocked with illness and suspensions throughout the week. Marcus Younis equalised in the 16th minute with a stunning side foot strike that will be on the end of season highlight reels. Manly United v Central Coast Mariners at Cromer Park – POSTPONED The round 14 clash between Manly United v Central Coast Mariners was called off with three minutes till half-time following a serious leg injury to Manly United’s Max Martinello. Rockdale Ilinden 4 v Sydney FC 2 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights Rockdale Illinden FC have defeated Sydney FC 4-2 to move up to second on the table with an excellent performance at Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre. The home side put on an outstanding attacking display, finding goals through four different scorers. Nikola Ujdur, Alec Urosevski and Jaden Casella all found the back of the net for Rockdale, while Loic Puyo scored a beautiful freekick in his last game at the club. Clayton Taylor was Sydney FC’s bright spark throughout the 90 and scored two goals, but they were only consolation for the sky blues, who will look to bounce back against Sutherland Sharks next week. NIIOIIIICE win by APIA, saw the highlights... Rockdale and Marconi back on track..... SO are having a horror season...... Looking like its gonna be a 3-4 horse race up there this year... Down here, its looking like a Hellas/Avondale (and maybe Oaqkleigh) race until we finish clear top by 6 points and lose the GF again :( lol After a slow start to the season CCM Academy have since the beginning of April had a narrow 2-1 loss to Apia drawn with St George FA and Sydney Olympic and then beaten Rockdale, Sydney United and Marconi.

In the NPL SA, the table has split into three groups.
At the top, you have Metrostars leading with 28 points with Campbelltown City and Adelaide United Youth on 26 points.
There is an 8 point gap between 3rd and the newly-promoted Modbury Jets in 4th place and FK Beograd in 5th place while Adelaide City and Adelaide Comets are two points behind them. City being so low is a big shock.
And then you have the bottom 5 teams fighting relegation with West Adelaide with 12 points, an Adelaide Olympic featuring Michael Jakobsen with 11, Croydon Kings with 10, South Adelaide with 9 and Sturt Lions with just 6, despite having Michael Marrone on their books.
Interestingly the top two sides plus State League 1 side West Torrens Birkalla have submitted a joint bid to enter the NSD. They could become a real force given how successful Campbelltown and Metro have been and how both are performing this season.

With the resource they have and pretty much have the leverage to hand pick up and comers and proven players both should be doing better over the years and be with sfc who have always been the better of the alm clubs but they all run out of gas at the business end. R15 Review...... First timers in top flight Spirit beat wsw. Sutho draw with sfc. APIA sound against StG. Good Manly win. Rockdale does BC. pj would be happy ccm doing Stallions away, Pluim is always a good advantage every game. SO stops the rot against foes SU58. Wollongong Wolves 0 v Mt Druitt Town Rangers 0 @ WIN Stadium Wollongong Wolves played out their second scoreless draw in a row sharing the points with Mount Druitt Town Rangers on Friday night at WIN Stadium. Wollongong put in a strong first-half showing but failed to make their chances count before the Rangers came into the game in the second period to earn themselves a hard-earned point away from home. NWS Spirit FC 1 v Western Sydney Wanderers 0 @ Christie Park It was a match that NWS Spirit FC needed to win and they did just that defeating the Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0 snapping a three game winless streak at Christie Park on Saturday. Richard Darko was once again the hero for the hosts with his 26th minute wonder-strike recycled from a set piece which earned his side the three points. For the Western Sydney Wanderers, the effort was there but they couldn’t find the back of the net, the story of their season, to grab anything from the contest. Alessandro Lopane went close twice alongside George Antonis in the second half but it was not to be for the visitors. Sutherland Sharks 0 v Sydney FC 0 @ Seymour Shaw It may have been a scoreless 0-0 draw but the Sutherland Sharks and Sydney FC entertained the crowd who were on hand to witness the Round 15 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s clash played at Seymour Shaw on Saturday night. Both sides had chances to win across numbers occasions but it wasn’t to be as the two teams settled for a hard earned point. St George City 1 v APIA Leichhardt 2 @ Penshurst Park APIA Leichhardt remain at the summit of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition, having defeated St George City FA 2-1 at Penshurst Park. A brace from Jack Armson, including a stunning, 9th minute lob from range was enough to secure the three points for the away side, who have won four of their last five matches in the competition. St George City showed their quality in moments but struggled to trouble APIA goalkeeper Ivan Necevski although Dean Pelekanos scored a late penalty which was a mere consolation for the hosts. Manly United 3 v Bulls FC Academy 2 @ Cromer Park An inspired second-half performance saw Manly United recover a two-goal deficit to register a priceless 3-2 victory over Bulls FC Academy at Cromer Park on Saturday night. Ali Auglah did the damage for the Bulls early, scoring an impressive brace inside 20 minutes, but the academy outfit would be reeled back in by their experienced opponents. Jesse Piriz pulled one back on the hour mark to spark the home side into life, as a Matt Sim penalty and Kristian Santich stunner turned the contest on its head and secure a vital three points for Patrick Zwaanswijk’s side. Blacktown City 1 v Rockdale Ilinden 2 @ Landen Stadium A depleted Rockdale Ilinden side scored two goals in the last ten minutes to produce a Mother’s Day special against Blacktown City in a game for the ages as Paul Dee’s men triumphed 2-1 at Landen Stadium on Sunday. In the 36ht minute, after a deflection off the wall, a brilliant lobbed through ball by Mario Shabow found a wondering Jak O’Brien in transition, who managed to stay onside. O’Brien finished the counter-attack with his speed nailing the ball into the goal, making it 11 goals for the season and 1-0 for the home side. While Blacktown failed to take their chances, it was a different story for Rockdale. Out of nowhere, Urosevski delivered an amazing cross into the box, finding William Mutch for the equaliser in the 87th minute. Going down to the wire, Rockdale earnt a penalty in the 97th minute after a handball in the box. Stepping up to the penalty spot, captain Alec Urosevski slotted the ball into the right-hand corner, producing one of the best wins of the season. Central Coast Mariners 2 v Marconi Stallions 0 @ Pluim Park The Central Coast Mariners have continued their unbeaten run in the NPL NSW Men’s First Grade to five games after a Miguel Di Pizio double secured a 2-0 win against Marconi Stallions. The first half saw few chances created, with neither side capable of threatening the opposition’s goal. That changed in the second half, though, with Miguel Di Pizio scoring an 18-minute brace from nearly identical positions on the park. His first was driven low and hard into the bottom-right corner in the 49th minute, and his second sent flying into the top-right corner in the 67th minute. Sydney United 58 0 v Sydney Olympic 1 @ Sydney United Sports Centre Sydney Olympic have gotten its National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s season back on track after securing its first win in five games, taking down bitter rivals Sydney United 58 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Sydney United Sports Centre. After a tightly contested first half, it was the visitors who struck first after a late penalty in the first half which was converted by Roy O’Donovan. The second half saw a back-and-forth battle between the sides with Olympic in pursuit of a second as United 58 aimed to salvage a point. United 58 were denied of a famous late comeback after Mathew Bilic’s powerful effort struck the crossbar in what would be the final chance of the game.

Down here, its looking like a Hellas/Avondale (and maybe Oaqkleigh) race until we finish clear top by 6 points and lose the GF again :( lol After a slow start to the season CCM Academy have since the beginning of April had a narrow 2-1 loss to Apia drawn with St George FA and Sydney Olympic and then beaten Rockdale, Sydney United and Marconi. with the AL season all but over, are these academy sides dropping down any AL players into their squads?

+x+x+x+xgreat win to SMH over the weekend....... For CCM - it's more the other way. The Bayliss boys, Di Pizio, Windust and Duarte have all had 1st team minutes because of 1st team injuries and suspensions. Otherwise Farrell, Triantis and Steele at a minimum would be eligible by age to drop down. Won't happen. Now a lot of U20s playing up because of injuries to Kasalovic, Larson, Hong, Tapp, and Duarte.

I piked out and ended up watching through youtube on the couch :) Sokol goal to put it out of reach was nice... well done Hercules.... Menelaou and Ghadi impressed and pleased to see Zak Bates has found his level and still has the speed. Snoreland doing "NPL things" and giving the opponent the ball all game and NOT being able to successfully counter was hilarious. Favourite moment of the match (the other commentator with Ollie was appalling BTW, wtf dude 10 yard box? WTF is a 10 yard box? and stop screaming) was 2 minutes into extra time, Northcote up 2 zip and one of the kids just boots the bejeezus out of a throw in ball just to waste time....... hahahah love to see such shithousery.
