+x+xStill don't understand it. My hunch is Iran win 3:1 giving superior GD and outright first which then leaves us against Vietnam and we're 3rd due to H2H? Yet where would our H2H against Iran be validated? So stupid why don't they just use goal difference not really. no excuses for not beating vietnam. now we pay the penalty by finishing second.

No real penalty, we have to win next game either way to qualify for Under 20s World cup. This is a good team, lets hope they can do it.

Adam Sarota played for them but they were in the 2nd division when he did so.

We now play the tournament favourites and home nation in front of a packed stadium of 32000, rather than a less imposing opponent like Indonesia or Iraq in an empty stadium. When winning or losing the next match determines whether we qualify for the u20 WC or not, we now have a massive, massive task ahead of us. Lets hope after this recent win we're not overconfident and cocky

If so, there will be no overconfidence will there. We could have played Iraq, who lost 1 nil to the Ubeks & the Ubeks only drew with Indonesia.

Pretty cool seeing Cassio and Christiano's sons combining for the goal From my understanding, the club has been trying to get Raphael over for a couple of transfer windows. How good would it be to see both of them playing together in red? :)

So if Vietnam had scored one goal, it would've seen them level with Australia on GD.
Does the H2H result come into play there or must they go onward to goals scored, i.e next tie breaker? It would've been 3 goals each then. After that it was total GD (sanity)
As they used GD to rank 3 teams who'd beaten one of the other, I wonder whether they would've reverted back to the original H2H for the hypothetical Australia Vietnam GD tie or if that's not allowed because H2H has already been 'used' to break all three teams up.

The process is listed on the wiki site. They go back to H2H between the two teams.
