I haven't seen much of Yengi, but he has immense physical strength.

He absolutely outmuscled an enormous  Syrian player, turning him,  also having good technical use of the body.

Could he be used as central striker?

I have only seen very brief snippets of Iredale so would like to see him play a role in the Uzbekistan match.I think Fornaroli will start and if the Uzbeks play an open game he will get his get goalscoring opportunities.

He can hold the ball  The problem is he just can't score or find opportunities to score.

He did good holding up and link up against Syria.  But he was awful as a Super sub against Palestines last month.

Sydney Wanderers 18 games 4 goals
Portsmouth 12 games 3 goals

His scoring record wasn't impressive. Fornaroli is much better as central striker

Iredale is more of a starter than an impact player so it's probably worth throwing him in for a good 50min then assessing what's next. I think Yengi and Fornaroli are more likely to thrive if we have a lead and Uzbekistan start pushing as they've got strength and smarts against a tiring opponent.

Holes all over this post.
1. He didn't even get on the field against Palestine.
2. Played mostly at LW, out of position & off the bench for the Wanderers.
3. He's barely got off the bench for Portsmouth, started only 3 games & scored the winner against Bolton. He's done well to score 3 goals, considering the limited opportunities he's had.

Yengi would start for pretty much every other League One club. Portsmouth’s other striker Colby Bishop has been in great form and unfortunately they can’t fit both into the XI.

If you count cup games Yengi has 7 goals in 17 games for Portsmouth also. That isn't a bad record.

My mistake. Bahrain in Friendly I mean not Palestine.

What make you think he can score as a central striker for a Socceroos?  Were there any moments that you think he almost score for the Socceroos?  Maybe as a winger but not  a striker. Yes he scored a few goals in League 1, however not consistent enough and that's why you see him would start 1 game then back to the bench the next game for Portsmouth.

Wanderers wouldn't put him as a central striker so why would you put him there when you have Fornaroli? I showed you his scoring record so  you see nothing suggests he can score.

I totally understand your hope to find a new young striker. Just like some people here used to say they wanted Leckie or Rogic as our central striker at one point.  Someone even wanted Koul there b4 too.

I haven't seen any sight of him as a great striker.  What are his strength other than holding the ball? Heading? Tapping? Short/long shooting?  Is he a poacher?  Any evidence?

Which game that shows he can be a good striker? I'd love to see it.  He looks awkward as a central striker.

Okay now I know for sure that you’ve only seen him play 1-2 times at most.

He can hold the ball up well, he’s very strong, got a powerful shot on him and he’s very confident in front of goal.

I used to see him (Yengi) scored for wsw as a winger where another team played high Line and pushed forward.

I remembered this, at the peak of Rogic career at Celtic. At that time he scored many fantastic goals as AM outside the box.  Celtic fans wanted Rodgers to experiment and put him as a central striker so BR did.  The result was he was awful in a tight space when being marked. He couldn't do anything and missing in the game.  Rogic legs are too long once he touched the ball he got no time to do anything , he was too slow to be a poacher and he was bad in the air.

So this is a pretty tricky position

Our pet Aussie Uruguayan whose only talent is that he was once mates with Louis Suarez.

Don't suppose you've watched him play in the a League this season mate? Easily the most skilful striker available for the NT at the moment. Originally I found it difficult to accept him playing for us, but he's an Aussie citizen and he's very vocal about how much he loves the country & the pride he has for playing for the Socceroos. Fornaroli for now -he can shoot, willing to play across the field so pulling defenders with him and can hold up the ball.Long term Yengi worth persisting with and Iredale  if he gets his chance in this tournament.

Also Alou Kuol,.Archie Goodwin and Botic have potential.I also think Irankunda as he matures could have all the attributes needed to a top striker-speed,size,a thunderbolt shot and willingness to take on defenders.Lately he has shown better temperament  and  some passing ability.I am not sure about his heading and whether he can hold the ball up with his back to goal.

If we can actually get some decent crosses and corners he would.. some of the deliveries the other night were disgusting.
