+xMelbon - says it all Scrooge cancerous https://sydneyfc.com/news/gameday-guide-sydney-fc-v-western-sydney-wanderers-2/Yeah no worries bloke, Shitney football fans are going to be forced to wear a wristband so they can be easily identified by police and its "Melbon" that is cancerous....

+xwhereas the WSW fans will have ankle monitors on. Lol Mono wristbands is no big deal but a good directive imo whereas having a opposing code with all the media influence and clout protecting its treasured handball game on a national scale is and has been a cancer against our game for decades and yes I’m afraid it’s your town.

Sure mate, wristbands are awesome, forcing a group of spectators to be easily identifiable by police and security is a great way to NOT be a cancer on our game... whats next matching necklaces?

Last time I was in Germany to get in the ultras I had to pay basically bribed security because I didn't have photo id or card for that section In south America though its still very old school, they're too scared to tell people what to do lol I'd just flat out refuse to wear a wristband though. Like primary school

Unfortunately the in fighting within some members of the football community would rather call out the cancer within our game than the big one outside called the AFL & it's horrible media. This is why this game will never grow we are not united. So glad I don't live in Melbourne, apart from AFL you have the stench.

The thing is there are people in active that act like flogs and when you have 100s even thousands that's hard to control so yes the media is wrong but football does have a hooligan problem

unpopular opinion.
whilsts at games i like ultra support more, l'm meh about hooliganism and not really bothered by it. These a-league ones are mostly sad cases (and so are a lot of euros tbh) but the anarchy anti-authoritan, powerless struggles and wanting to be a part of something ideas at the centre of it is understandable
if it's not involving the public, kids - and somewhere else, who cares?
I also don't think it has a negative effect on crowds like the powers that be believe. The game was never as packed as when we were in the headlines every week.

Issue is the media, and the lack of knowledge and culture surrounding football in this country. Its been an issue since the NSL, nothing's changed.

No argument with me in regards to the APL government. Hopefully the A-League can go back to the FA. As John Lennon said loosely We all want a revolution, but if you go around carrying a picture of chairman Mao, you can count me out. If you want a return to the old NSL clubs with all their ancient European rivalries, well you can count me out.

The rival comp run by the APL is going to have to step up its marketing if the NST does get such large crowds.

+x+xWTF is going on up in Shitney? Is knife crime a trend now? According to Americans on twitter we need more guns. I think we should all be able to legally tow cannons behind our Dodge Ram pick ups...... lol Seriously though, guns wouldnt have done a thing to stop that poor mentally broken man who stabbed all the innocents in Westfield. He was holding a knife and NOBODY had the guts to tackle him to the ground and diffuse the situation... I couple of tourists threw a plastic bollard at him and the scarpered.... Now I know "fight or flight" kicks in and its hard to tell what our reactions would be in the face of such danger but the dude was clearly sick and on a rampage .... not one big dude stepped up to clock him one on the chin as he was running past? Such a sad sad situation all round...

I just think we have become a society unwilling to defend what is right and good in the world. A couple of hefty lads sitting on this guys chest until the coppers turned up would have prevented a whole lot of suffering and death.

You'd like to think you'd do the right thing but if 50 people are running at you saying there's a lunatic stabbing people and your wife and kids are with you you're probably going to get as far away as quickly as possible.

Yeah thats a fair call.... its easy to bluster about on the internet... but still a little saddened that the bloke ran past hundreds of people. He sidestepped quite a few blokes who squared up to him was more my point and they, as soon as the danger went away from them, just stepped back... Sure maybe I would have done the exact same thing or even pissed my ants in fear but this could have ended so differently if thousands of people didn't have to wait 40 mins for a brave young constable to pop him one with a gun and kill him.... thats all Im saying.

No I get it. I said the same thing to my wife. I'd be way more comfortable heading towards trouble if I was standing with another bloke who was full of piss and vinegar, the size of a house, covered in tatts and was egging me on and we had chairs or something to put some distance between us and fuck knuckle. Otherwise I'd probably be on my bike too. Too often you read about some poor bastard sticking up for someone and then they get the shit kicked out of them and their head stomped on. It's grim.
