I think that's the only option we have... less Harold upfront?! :s Anyway, FINALLY, Keogh will be back in January - Guest stint confirmed! Some welcome good news and none too timely. Just need to get his match fitness up - hopefully he's training with the team already? Adam Taggart rumours too, but quite confusing at the moment - we should hear more in coming days? Here: Quote:http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2015/12/11/glory-targets-taggartGlory targets Taggart Beleaguered Perth Glory are in advanced discussion to bring 2014 golden boot Adam Taggart back to the A-League. By Dave Lewis 11 Dec 2015 - 12:02 AM UPDATED 3 HOURS AGOGlory chairman Tony Sage confirmed to The World Game that they have been in discussions to return the former Perth junior to Nib Stadiun for the last month. Fulham confirmed they had been approached by a club but would not say who. Taggart is from Perth and made his debut with the club in 2011 before moving on to the Jets in 2012. It was at Newcastle where Taggart went through the best form of his career scoring 16 goals in 25 matches during the 2013-2014 season. That form led to a move to English Championship side Fulham, but injury plagued Taggart who never made an appearance for the senior side in a competitive match. On September 1 of this year Taggart was loaned out to Scottish Premier League side Dundee United where he has played over 543 minutes but failed to score. Dundee currently sit last in the league. Taggart has played seven times for the Socceroos, scoring three goals. It is unknown at this stage if the move would be permanent or just a loan and when exactly the move would take place. Taggart's loan deal with Dundee was expected to expire on January 1, 2016. Quote:http://www.fourfourtwo.com/au/news/fulham-dismiss-glory-taggart-bidFulham dismiss Glory Taggart bid 3 hours agoJohn Davidson Socceroo striker Adam Taggart is not on his way to Perth Glory, FourFourTwo understands. Glory are set to make a major announcement on Friday and Taggart has been linked to a return to the A-League. But Fulham, Taggart's parent club, told FourFourTwo, that despite media speculation there has so far been no approach from Perth for the centre forward. Taggart is currently on loan to Scottish club Dundee United until Jan 5. The striker will return to Fulham unless an agreement with another club can be reached. :? Fulham have confirmed or haven't they?!

No way is Taggart coming back. If Kenny is going to persist with the 442 though I wouldn't mind seeing the front two being Taggart and Keogh, bit like having Keogh and Maclarren for the hold up play and someone to run off.

The Worst is often pretty close to the mark with their 'possible lineups' each week. Admittedly a lot of that is because it only takes 20 to 30 seconds for any living soul to read Glory's approach.
So Sidnei is injured, we can't score goals and our attack for the first 8 games is yielding nothing. Big opportunity to play 1 or even 2 of the young strikers. Take the novel approach of even playing a striker as a striker, and who knows, it just may result in a goal of two. We're again playing a bottom team. This ain't Victory or the like, so it must happen now.
And what does the Worst expect: Let's just rearrange again, Castro as a striker, Garcia as a striker, and so on. No sign of even half an opportunity being given to anyone else, let alone a real striker.
I've sort of no doubt goals will eventually come from this approach, like this is only 9 games in now, and the more games we use up, the closer it may get to succeeding ... but it ain't no answer to anything.

You can't handle the truth, Glory ARE bottom. Unbelievable how Kenny shows little faith in the youngsters. It is a perfect opportunity to blood the young players, Glory's season is shot, doesn't matter if they finish bottom by a point or by 20, they will still be bottom, but younger players will be blooded. A fucking opportunity wasted again. Get Reimers up front for and extended spell. Imaging him running onto silky smooth through balls from Castro. [-o< But nooooo. Can't do that. Garcia is captain, so Glory are fucked. Golec & Warren on the left again. It's like a red rag to a bull. Fuck, put up a neon sign on the left side that reads "Goals this Way". Expect another left side goal or two from a Waren or Golec or Warren/Golec fuck-up. What's up with Grant, is he still injured???? EDIT: Grant is in the game day squad, so hopefully gets on the bench Warren or Golec stuff up and he gets a run Edited by hotrod: 12/12/2015 04:57:35 PMEdited by hotrod: 12/12/2015 05:03:02 PM

Um, I don't follow. I can handle the truth no problems, we are crap. Yes we are bottom, and all I'm saying is we're playing another team on a par with us, just as we did last week with Adelaide. They're not one of the top teams, and if we can't give others a run in these matches, we never will. I am just so sick of the approach of sitting kids on the bench, and bring them on with 15 minutes left when we're a goal or two down. That serves no purpose to anyone. Start them from the beginning, and you'll soon see if they measure up. There's a very true saying about your position on the ladder no matter what sport you're in, and you finish where you deserve to finish. Right now, Glory's position on the ladder is exactly where we deserve to be.

Selections are as predictable as during the dying days of the Ferguson era.

It is a sad indictment on the club and coach that the coach can't just say "fuck it, I've fucked up the season, let's blood some young players for the long term benefit of the club even if it means I get the sack" instead of "fuck it, I've fucked up this season, let me keep playing the same players to try and keep my job even if it means I fuck up the club". It seems it is the second option every season no matter the coach. Seems the coach is pressured into the short term results. No coach seems to have the long term security of a long term vision, no matter what the short term results are.

There's talk of Taggart coming back home as well. That would be a thrilling front w/ Keogh with Harold thrown in there as well. Keogh can play as early as January 2nd ? We need to dump Sidnei , sad as it may be for the guy, he has done close to nothing. I'd rather pay for Keogh to play than to keep a free foreign player

Taggart is not coming. We are already paying Keogh even though he can't play. How are foreign players free?

... well, didn't see that coming ... no youngsters up forward in the starting 11, and Warren keeps his spot. At least I can be pleasantly surprised ... I hope, but it still ain't a plan for future success.

Won one game this season, absolutely terrible playing style, no decent players, club a shambles, owned by a knob head. Playing the 2nd bottom team and all this on a Saturday night. Anymore than 3000 people is a solid turnout. Edited by perthjay85: 12/12/2015 10:24:24 PM

Honestly, what's going on in Perth? Population over 2 million. The people are there, the participation in there, and there should be more than enough investment available. And none of it wants to go near the club.

But there has been no where near the level of interaction and promotion from the club like there used to be. Glory are one of the few clubs who seem to be going backwards more often than forwards.

But is there much difference between him and Sidnei? not, fucking, really Gallas made one major error. Otherwise he was solid defender who performed well when he played. His positioning was fantastic, he worked well with Thwaite and still had a good turn of pace. Was he injury prone? - yes Was he a good investment on marquee wages? - probably not Was he still a very good player? - yes
