Ive got me a copy of FIFA 09 on 360 already. Any one else pre order it?

if u are new to fifa ps3/360 i'd recommend playing around with the control settings. You've got different assists u can turn on, off or semi, plus a game speed option this year. Really changes the feel of the game. Plus there's manual option for online now

Won the UEFA Cup. Beat Bayern 2-1. 2 very early goals (4th and 10th), Lahm gets sent off before halftime, managed to defend the clean sheet out till the 70th or so, then held out a very nervy final 20 minutes, including having a player sent for a last man foul 6 minutes from time.

The form that shows in those pictures, is that the players form from in the game, or is that using the new feature that takes a players real life form and influences the in game player as such?

I would assume its just from the game, otherwise keane would be in terrible form, and cahill would not be in terrible form

Yeah, took a closer look and you're right. That is one feature I'm not too keen on with Fifa09. I don't care how a player is playing in real life, his form should be based on how I perform with him, not what he does in real life. Say in game I'm scoring tons of goals with Keane. Then I log on to XBOX live and it downloads his real life form, and all of sudden he's gone to shit. It just doesn't seem right.

Ah, I was under the impression it just automatically downloaded once you logged on, but if that isn't the case that's not so bad.

What is with this "buying Live Season"? In the FIFA 08 podcast it is said that a "small cost is incurred when first buying the game" does this mean that the price for live season is automatically covered by the price you pay for the game? If not how would you go about it?

edit: how much does it cost BTW? If it's anything more that a few dollars then it's a total piece of shit and not worth getting.

You get one league free and then for each other league you want or if u want some next season it costs something

I know that, I'm more interested in the means you'd go about paying for the leagues and the price of it all.

I assume it would be the same way you buy most stuff off of XBOX live, buying Microsoft points in stores like EB and Game. If you're using a PS3, I haven't got a clue.

I haven't really been following the hype for either game, But I'd say the other big feature is the "become a legend" mode, where you take control of a rookie and play through his career.

haven't seen any prices for adidas live yet... i went for ligue one for the freebie, wanna add bundesliga and spain. If its a one-off fee fair enough, but i won't bother if its any ongoing subscription.

End of Season Report:
Spanish 1st Division - 3rd, 66 Points (1st Real, 2nd Barca, 4th Sevilla). Barca and Real on 97 and 95 points, only lost 1 game each, and Barca's was to Real. Have nfi how I'm going to shift them.

Champions League - 3rd in Group Stage, 8 Points (Lazio, MU qual). A last minute penalty against us knocking us out in the final game vs Lazio.

Spanish Cup - Semi Final, lost to Barca 2-5 on Agg. Again. Fucking barca.

UEFA Cup - Won in Final vs Bayern 2-1. Defeated Genk, Palermo, Zaragoza, Olympic Marseille and Bayern. Quite surprised when I saw the Bayern team sheet, they have a ridiculous line-up.

2nd Season, Opening Day Update:

I strengthened the defence and midfield quite easily, bringing in some good signings, pretty cheaply without much fuss, then had the usual dog and pony show trying to sign a striker. Teams won't sell, players won't come, teams want to "negotiate", can't find one who I want and who will come to me at a reasonable price, the usual.

Ended up getting my man (Pazzini), only to be screwed by the transfer window, after the other team delayed for a week, then the player signed before the transfer window shut, only to have it go past anyway.

Transfers:
In: Thiago (7m), Valon Behrami (8m), Khalid Boulahrouz (Loan), Miguel Veloso (13.5), Gai Assulin (3.1m)

Out: Basically everyone in my 2nd team that were crap, on free transfer, before the game told me that Valencia B were promoted to a playable league. Hildebrand (4.1), Ziglic (6.5m), Del Horno (2.1), Estoyanoff (1m).

Lost to Barca in the Super Cup, 1-2 with a penalty denied that should have been given, powered into the Champions League group stage with a 10-3 Agg win vs Salzburg. Was given Bayern, CSKA Moscow and Fenerbache.
