Don't think I've ever been more disgusted than I am right now to be an Essendon member

The moment I start calling sides woeful they start winning. Anyway I always wanted to know why is collingwood is so well supported compared to Melbourne.

Okay so basically Collingwood are a bandwagon team, Melbourne are not.

Melbourne don't exactly have a poor/small supporter base either...But Collingwood are arguably the most successful side in AFL history. That drags in a lot of support. Think of them as Manchester United :p

Yea I know they are a big bandwagon team but shouldn't Melbourne have a larger supporter base because they are in the main city in Victoria.

Honestly most Melbourne fans are only there because of the MCC. However they are the oldest club in the AFL and one of the greatest clubs in the AFL despite their recent lack of success, which like you said Roar_Brisbane, is slightly confusing. Anyways with that said I'm still in shock that they fired up and beat us last night

Well I don't know too much about the geography of the teams down there. TBH up here in Brisbane I've been used to one team towns. With the Roar, Broncos, Reds and Lions.

Absolutely over the moon by Ports performance against the blues hope we carry the form to next week against hawthorn however what happened with the dees and bombers? Didnt see the game but were melbourne that good or were essendon just off?

Essendon were definitely off. But Melbourne played well

Oh my just tuned in for the lions and WC and we are trailing by only 7 points. Looking positive for once, a shame my Broncos will be taking preference now.

We were horrid. Just to name a few areas that they were better than us in:
Hardness/Toughness
Desire/hunger
Disposal both contested and uncontested
Disposal efficiency
Goal kicking
Speed/spread (which is what we've been good at thus far)

Basically Melbourne did their homework and as a result we were outplayed and outcoached, remembering that we also shot ourselves in the foot constantly

6.16.52 ouch goal kicking boots definitely werent on, flicked to the game every now and again and the dees looked like they knew what they were doing loved the celebrations at the end when the siren went true emotion

34 goals 40 behinds for the season says otherwise :p

Particularly when it was 21 goals 36 behinds before yesterday.

Not saying he's a bad kick, but when you talk about great kicks, consistency is key.

McKeever's smother on Jack Darling on the goal line was absolutely crucial, inspirational from the Irish bloke. Really should've been the final nail though can't believe it waasn't a goal

Was great to see the huge underdogs, in Melbourne, get up last night.

Comfortable so far for the Swans. I want it to stay that way, instead of another weekend dampened by a frustrating Swans performance.

Although as I type, the Dogs get 2 in a row.

That, and the Torp from fucking Polkinghorne from 60 out for the winner. But McKeever, amazing last ditch effort, especially when darling had the run on him.
