But McKeever, amazing last ditch effort, especially when darling had the run on him. Also Ash McGrath's mark going back with the flight 50 out from the Brisbane goal was pivital.

That, and selling off one of our Melbourne games to Hawthorn in Tassie, or Melbourne up at Brisbane. Thankfully, the new people in charge of the club are going a long way to fixing those things, and re-embracing the old Fitzroy fans.

Mitch Golby and Jared Polec look like the best kids you have coming through. Rich is already there so the future looks bright for the Lions

I think what happened with those trade periods is very overstated. Vossy took a punt on going for a final Premiership tilt, and it didn't work. But you can't blame him for trying. Raines, Staker, McGuire have turned out very handy for us. I think there's a big upside in potential for us in the next few seasons. Leuey/Longer tapping down to Rocky/Redden/Rich/Polec is a fantastic prospect. I'm still not sold on Voss/and or our gameplan. We still make a lot of basic disposal errors, but hopefully those things continue to improve over time.

Its good that he had a crack but the hole Fev situation we lost big there and with GC coming through and pinching some of our players.

I thought we could tame him, but obviously not, the bloke is a lost cause. As for GC pinching our players well...Brennan can't even get a start for GC. Rischitelli had just 7 disposals for them today. I don't think either of them would make our team as it stands. Brennan definitely not.

Honestly I still think that Rischa is a good player byt Brennan... well he's just rubbish. And remember you have Docherty to come in also, he is supposed to be great of half back if my research is correct

I didn't realise at the time how dodgy the touch call looks. Was just elated that he got to it. But I'll give the umpire benefit of the doubt, he's right there, and made the call instantly, and was 100% sure.

They were talking about this umpireing review issue on Finey's Final Siren last night and how its becoming less common. There were a few examples over the weekend where it should've been used but wasn't, but that one was the correct call and great to see the goal ump just trust his vision.

Quote:AFL LEGEND Kevin Bartlett has no plans to vacate his post on the influential Laws of the Game committee despite fan condemnation of his radical call for an interchange overhaul. The @AFL Twitter page exploded with comments from perplexed fans after Bartlett suggested the current interchange system be scrapped and replaced with eight soccer-style substitutes. "I don't make anything of it, I don't make anything of it at all, people can always have their say," Bartlett told AFL.com.au. "I like being involved ... the rules committee is there as a sounding board, it gives advice that's what it does." Bartlett did concede "a lot of people might think it's radical," and that includes current Richmond coach Damien Hardwick who laughed when asked about the idea on Thursday. "Listen I think the game, and people said on the weekend the game on our Friday night, was outstanding to watch," Hardwick said. "I'll just worry about what we can control and let KB control the rules of the game. That's his mantra and it's his job." Earlier, the 403-game Richmond hero declared the game is "becoming like rugby" and is being tactically "hijacked" by interchanges.
"I'm confident the game would be better without interchange, pick your best 18 and have six to eight players on the bench to cover injury and flexibility for the coach, but once you've come off, you can't come back on," Bartlett told his SEN listeners.
"No longer is the bench about covering injured players, interchange is now running at an average of 129 per game," he said.
"Interchange has hijacked the game to such a point now that it's becoming like rugby, it's not an indigenous game of Australian Rules football any more.
"I think we'd see better kicking, I think we'd see more marking, I think we'd see more contest, I think it'd be a better game.
"Interchange was never ever brought into the game so that you could have 160 interchanges in a game and have players running in huge masses around the ground."
But Bartlett said he would draw the line at a suggestion from Greater Western Sydney coach Kevin Sheedy that five forwards and five defenders be restricted to inside the 50m arcs.
"I have never supported any move that stops players from having full access to the field of play except at centre bounces," he said.

When did rugby have 160 interchanges a game. I don't like the idea of restricting the number of players in each section of the field.

Interchange should be 4+1/2. Like the old interchange bench, with 1 or 2 subs. That's it.

I still think that there should be 1 sub and 4 avaliable interchange players but 8 subs is just ridiculous.
