Quote:Pre-season fixtures finalised Friday, 27 July 2012 2:29 PM Brisbane Roar has finalised its pre-season fixtures ahead of the commencement of the Hyundai A-League 2012/13 season in October. The current Hyundai A-League back-to-back Champions have added another local fixture to the four against fellow A-League opposition as Head Coach Rado Vidosic ramps up the club's title defence preparations. Brisbane will head to Redlands United on August 29, which will mark the club’s final match in Queensland’s capital before hosting Melbourne Victory in Week 2 of the Hyundai A-League on October 13. Two interstate fixtures follow with Brisbane set to take on Newcastle in Tamworth on September 1 before heading to the South Australian capital to take on Adelaide United on September 8. The club’s pre-season schedule will finish in Queensland with a match against Sydney FC in Mackay on September 16 and winding up with a huge clash against the Central Coast Mariners at Stockland Stadium, Kawana on September 23. “Our pre-season program is an important part of our preparation on several levels,” Brisbane Roar General Manager Sean Dobson said. “First, and foremost, it provides our squad with the best possible preparation for the upcoming Hyundai A-League season. “The players will be tested by both their local and Hyundai A-League opponents as the season preparations intensify. “Furthermore, taking our brand of football to the regions is an important part of the league’s long term growth strategy. “This growth strategy runs parallel to our own platform of growth of the Brisbane Roar brand across the state and country.” Ticketing details for matches against Hyundai A-League opposition will be released as they become available. Wednesday, 29 August 2012 Brisbane Roar v Redlands United (Cleveland Showgrounds, Long St, Cleveland) Kick-off - 7.15pm Saturday, 1 September 2012 Newcastle Jets v Brisbane Roar (Scully Park, Tamworth NSW) Kick-off - 7.30pm Saturday, 8 September 2012 Adelaide United v Brisbane Roar (Hindmarsh Stadium, Adelaide) Kick-off - 7.30pm Sunday, 16 September, 2012 Brisbane Roar v Sydney FC (Virgin Australia Stadium, Mackay) Kick-off - 3.00pm Sunday, 23 September 2012 Brisbane Roar v Central Coast Mariners (Stockland Stadium, Kawana Waters, Sunshine Coast) Kick-off - 3.00pm http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/brisbaneroar/news-display/Preseason-fixtures-finalised/48307

I think he probably wants to be closer to his extended family perhaps. Do we get the $500 000? i wouldnt think so, but if hes a free agent, why would they need to pay a fee.

Quote:Roar's ONE GOAL program starts brightly In the one month since the ONE GOAL program was launched, Brisbane Roar has been overwhelmed by the support shown by the local football community. 63 football organisations have signed up to the program, including clubs from both Football Brisbane and Queensland Christian Soccer Association, local schools and the Futsal and Commercial leagues, spanning from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast and all the way out to Toowoomba. The Clubhouse, the designated area at Suncorp Stadium for ONE GOAL clubs, is selling at a rapid pace with the ONE GOAL member clubs and organisations also contributing to Brisbane Roar’s season membership tally. Local clubs Albany Creek Excelsior, Oxley United and Toowong FC are leading the way in the program, well on their way to achieving each of their club’s ONE GOAL, which include hosting a Brisbane Roar pre-season fixture in 2013, coaching clinics and player appearances. ONE GOAL Senior Account Manager Brendon Boss has been active in the local community, visiting a plenty of ONE GOAL clubs with the Hyundai A-League Championship trophy, Roary and Roar players during Brisbane Premier League and Division 1 fixtures. “We’ve been really pleased with the response from the local football community about the ONE GOAL program,” said Boss, who has been to Brisbane City, Eastern Suburbs, Queensland Lions, Redlands United, Albany Creek Excelsior, North Star and Capalaba Bulldogs in recent weeks. “We can already feel the relationship between Brisbane Roar and the local football clubs and organisations strengthening and we’re very happy to be rewarding them for supporting us. “Some of the players have been out with me to see ONE GOAL clubs and show their support for the program which has been great to see as well.” http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/brisbaneroar/news-display/Roars-ONE-GOAL-program-starts-brightly/48299

With Danning gone, we have 4 spots left with one of those being a foreign spot. So what does everyone want to happen? I don't think we need to replace Kofi, because we have Henrique, Do, Halloran, Fitz and Visconte. However I would like to see us get another CB.

Centre-back Berisha back-up LB with pace A defender or DM with some height (if Paartalu is off the park we are very vulnerable in the air to set-pieces).

CB CDM LB
Bring back Mackay,
George LAMBADARIDIS!! should be promoted to the Senior squad, He is better than Brattan IMO, plus Nichols is recovering from his injury.. can he play CDM as well as CAM/CM?
possible aussie Defenders we could target (that have experience) From League one in England:-
Shane Cansdell-Sherriff 30y.o. CB/LB never played a League Aaron Downes 27 y.o. CB never played Aleague
K League Robert Cornthwaite - only 6 months to run on his current contract
Jleague-
Jade north =; still a quality player although he gets bagged at international level..
Beau Bocsh - CB formerly from NQF, has been in Scotland D2 , but as far as i can tell he might be club less...??

George LAMBADARIDIS!! should be promoted to the Senior squad No need to promote him just yet. We are still able to call him up and he is on a youth wage. I really think we need a CB. We only have Smith, Jurman, Donachie and Geria. With the last two only having one game between them. Although I'd like to have another CDM, I doubt we will get one. If Paartalu becomes injured we do have Brattan. I believe he is a better passer but is not as good in the air or in defense like Paartalu. I doubt we will see a LB. If Stef isn't up for it we can play Hingert and Brown there. Lets just hope Bes doesn't suffer an injury or has a lack of form. Does anyone think we will use the last foreign spot?

So our transfer's this season. Quote:In: Do Dong-Hyun (South Korea), Ben Halloran (Gold Coast United), Matt Acton (NYL) Out: Mohamed Adnan (released), Andrew Redmayne (Melbourne Heart), Issey Nakajima-Farran, Matt Mundy (released – Rochedale Rovers)Kofi Danning (CS Vise) Essentially speaking Do is our Issey replacement. Halloran is our Kofi replacement and Acton is our Redmayne replacement. I would say two of those are an improvement. (I'd rate Redders higher than Acton). But the glaring omissions is that we have lost two CB's and they haven't been replaced. So CB's which could feature this season from our club are Smith, Jurman, Don and Geria. 3 very young Cb's so hopefully we get that CB from Tokyo.

That said, as much as I want my club to do well, best not to hold a promising keeper back, better Redders be set free to chase #1 spot than hold him back. I'm sure Acton will step up.
