What kind of salary would Kwame have been on? Only way I can see Solo coming in while Bes is still at the club if he is coming really cheap due the fact he hasn't had the greatest run since he left us

When is Lamba due back? he won't be making an appearance this season will he? I expect the Roar management have him penciled in to provide some depth in our midfield next year

I believe he was only on a Full time youth contract, so would that be $60k or what ever the minimum wage is?. And do the youth contracts count in the cap?

Well I assume we tried to sign Murray for 12 months on minimum wage but we just didn't have enough cap space. But we could have enough to sign Solo for 4 months on minimum wage.

I am a bit surprised we didn't go for a injury replacement for lamba, im pretty sure he is on senior contract as well. I guess we have enough players anyway, youth players are looking good.

I think it was more that he would take up a visa spot and the club wanted to leave that free. But anyway im glad he wasn't signed.

I'm talking more in position and playing type rather than wages, I would imagine he would fall under the injury replacement area in terms of wages.

Borrello has been very good in terms of his positional play and his rotation and cover of other players when they bomb on, but he hasn't offered much in the front third, that may be because of the limited game time of it may be to do with the step up in physicality from the NYL (as per Kwame last year).

Either way I don't really see him as a central striker, more as a winger.

So with Bes leaving at the end of the season, a new striker becomes priority number 1. Solórzano is back training with the club, so would assume that he is the guy Mulvey is looking at. I thought he wasn't bad for us, but at Victory was poor. That might have something to do with Victory and their use of him and his treatment.

Personally I think we have some cash to go out and get a deadly striker. Plenty big name who can bang in half chances and even be creative that are coming off contract or are currently off contract.

Ithink brisbane is a big enpigh club fork out some serious money for a really decent striker. A superstar would definitely add 10k to our already healthy weekly attendance and all of a sudden football competes with other codes in brisbane

Mulvey record for recruitment so far hasn't been to bad. if we can get Solorzano on the cheap and get another quality striker we should be fine.

the only dud so far has been neijland. its a better record than anges.

Unless we move broich into the cap, that won't really happen. then again i don't know how much cap space we have now. I expect we will also lose ivan and brattan in the near future, ivan would be on good coin but brattan not so much.

But seriously Brisbane must be having some serious salary cap issues.Steff was re- signed recently,but who knows if that was for any less than previously.It means any salary cap space comes from whatever wages Berisha was on.But to get a serious striker will require at least equal money with the Aussie dollar declining.Moving Broich under the cap doesn't seem an option because all he would get is what Berisha was on.If anyone else leaves it won't be a senior player on big wages,so it will be a cheaper player.
Time to pick the best of SFC youth,they are wasting away.Plus there are youngsters around that are being poorly utilised by other clubs.One or two ex GCU players maybe?

We can go back to enjoying the good old days of missing 5 tap in a game. god we had some awful strikers in the past. he did get better under ange ..... but definitely not int he realm of bes.

It's going to be hard to find another player like bes with the money we have. He can win games on his own, none of previous strikers could. Then again we played better in a first championship than our 2nd. It could be the fact that all our players have to put in an effort to score goals, rather than just pass to bes he will score.

im not so sure id like to see solorzano as our main striker for this upcoming season. He hasnt had decent game time for a couple of years now, but id still very much like to sign him for depth in our forwards department.

I wouldn't object to having Petratos play striker. But I agree, we should be going for a higher priced striker.

I'd still like Solozarno in the squad.

Petratos is too under devleloped right now to play striker for the top club in the a-league, he needs 1 or 2 more seasons before i think he can be our starting striker.
