+x+x+x+xAny more playing signings in the works? I know they lost a forward out of England after the contract was signed - wife apparently refused to travel/leave extended family alone in England due to COVID.
I think they have 20 players plus Neville returning in March so there is room.
I wouldn’t have minded Juric despite his reputation - I think goals will be our issue again this season without a recognised goal scorer (for the n’th time .... unless DWH delivers). We my not have a recognised goal scorer but we will hopefully have more goals overall this season. A full season of Smac, Champness actually has a pretty decent goal scoring record (and hopefully has retained that during his time off), Jessie looks to be more of a threat than JOshae's 1 goal last season as does Riku. A 20 goal a season striker would definitely help but i think we have more goals in us this season than last and our defence looks to be pretty similar to last season so that would indicate a better season than last. The defence is average and will get exposed this season. Robbie Fowlers park the bus tactics made it look like the defence was good. This season under Moon the team will be more expansive therefore exposing the average defence. On the flip side, the team will score more goals. Will be much better for the neutral. The defence wasn’t average nor was it built around ‘park the bus’ (at least not according to the stats). But the problem is Neville has left so 1/3rd of the back three has gone and that’s huge - I can’t see Moon sticking with a back three so it’s probably all a moot point anyway as we’ll have a new defensive system compared to Robbie.

+xWe’ve known about the absolute problem in not having a decent striker for a year now but somehow the club doesn’t see that as priority. A sign that they’re just happy to show up and fill in an A-League spot. We don’t agree on much but I agree with you here. This is a known problem - they need to have an answer for the seasons start.

Any idea who the forward was Waz? If we can see the sort of player they were looking to sign it might settle some nerves (or confirm their fears). Championship player. Was being compared to Noon at City in terms of style.

I can't imagine they would just stop looking because one signing didn't work out.

Yeah I feel like we're in trouble if we don't bring in another striker. I was chatting earlier this week about Moons formation. At Lions he seemed to favour 4-2-3-1 but has been setting up 4-3-3 this preseason. I feel there’s more goals in 4-2-3-1 tbh

+x+xHey. Apologies for posting. Only liked reading your conversations , just to keep up with any new info that you might know about. Not looking to post negative things. But thought id throw a post out there , that I heard recently. So good luck to you all. Enjoy your forums The main point is that a lack of sourcing for significant information generally denies any poster credibility - unless they have a proven history on the forum for hearing things. If January rocks around and something happens like you suggest, you will no doubt gain a great deal more acceptance next time you drop a bomb :) Fair comment. Would buy a lottery ticket on his/her suggestion were that to happen too 👍

Anyone know more about the Dolphin Community Shield game this Sunday. Meant to be 5pm kickoff at A J Kelly Park but very little detail to be found and nothing I could see about ticketing other than a Gold Coin donation mentioned somewhere. Wondering if it is worth turning up with my group or if we would be turned away.

+x+x+x+xI just saw that all our home games are up at Redcliffe this year, that sucks, i can see Suncorp from my place and it was a easy wonder down to the game and have a few beers. Im guessing a lot of Southsiders are going to be spending it of time on the bus/train. I've realized that a inner city 20k football stadium is never going to happen And while on the Brisbane Roar topic of the forum, I dont wanna create any enemies, a relocation to the North might open up room for a second side within the south? Welcome to the club....😏 F’ck that Lowy franchise thinking!!
Roars location should not determine where another side should go - pro/rel should do that
Yeah, there must be no commercial considerations at all.

Im guessing a lot of Southsiders are going to be spending it of time on the bus/train. I've realized that a inner city 20k football stadium is never going to happen Rumours were just pre covid of a plan to redevelop a current unname venue into a 15-20k seat stadium for the Roar, wouldnt say its never going to happen. But success at Dolphin might highlight the demand for it, and for it to be completed ASAP. And while on the Brisbane Roar topic of the forum, I dont wanna create any enemies, a relocation to the North might open up room for a second side within the south? Hardly a rumour when the club came flat out and said that was its intention - even naming Albion Park, Perry Park, Sleeman Sports Centre and QSAC as possible venues.
EDIT: That’s 2 venues in the north and 2 in the south ... doesn’t fit the postcode model for Australian football some people have but hey ! Waz, its all rumours in my eyes until the spade is in the ground... like you have pointed out they have named many locations, but nothing has ever happened. intention doesn't mean jack all after 15 years of "intentions" when it comes to the roar. I'll be taking every rumour of building a new football stadia within Brisbane as a rumour, if it ever happens it will be an amazing feat and i'd love to see it happen. But i've seen how the last 15 years how roar have "progressed in regards to a smaller stadia" That’s being astute and realistic. Lip service galore from the dodgie club owners.

+x+xSorry to spoil your dreams, but I'm hearing Bakries will bankrupt Roar in January and be gone after that. This is why their not paying due bills and finding temporary offices and venues. They have no intention of paying their bills This post just shouts Bullshit. Of course it does. Even the Jets look like they’re being sold for $5-$8m. This fella looks so detached from reality he could probably join Trumps legal team 😂

+x+x+x+x+x+x+xI was looking forward to an away trip in March. Might go anyway and see you blokes against Sydney or Perth Glad to welcome the shut ins from down south any time (after the first of December) and until our Princess determines otherwise. All jokes aside, I'm looking forward to the season ahead. It should be fascinating, and I am looking forward to see what MacArthur can do. It will be a big test for Milicic. Actually looking at the Anzac Day match. Do you usually get a big turnout? Assuming reasonable form I’d expect most games to sell out this season. 11,500 is the maximum and you can take about 500 off that for corporate type areas so not many tickets available considering we normally have more members than the capacity of Dolphin. Probably get decent crowds for the weekend games. Not so sure about the midweek games. Yeah, fair point. Midweek should be 8k if we’re going well and less if we’re not.
I’m discounting weather in all this as well. Even Suncorp drops 30%+ with rain and I’d expect Dolphin to be at least the same. The Wednesday night game at 6pm is the worst. Anyone working in the cbd or south would have to leave work early to make kickoff. But at least it’s only one game at that time ... perhaps just trying to understand the impact it may have. Good point - they might be looking as much for the families turning up to a midweek early game as seeing how much numbers drop off through southside/cbd travel after work.

This is a club that loses about $300k EVERY month .... please do explain why they would wait a few more months before going??
And if your comment relates to “the water bill” it’s quite clear the council haven’t been able to produce an adequate metered bill and that won’t proceed to court any time soon because such a bill doesn’t exist
