May) - 13th Boavista (Petit.... not Emmanuel Petit btw, this coach just goes by "Petit", BUT... wasn't appointed in May !!!!!! :P ) - 14th Academica (Paulo Sergio....... May) - 15th Nacional (Manuel Machado) - 16th Arouca (Pedro Emanuel) - 17th Penafiel (Rui Quinta.... changed coaches TWICE since May !!!) Mmm Bayliss broke the story and he said its someone from a better/bigger club. So not necessarily one of these guys. Tbh best bet would be working out which of them can speak engliah. That's fantastic that they have managed to start negotiations and get them to this point in just 5 days. Because the club would never have started these negotiations before they sacked Mike, right?
Going to the game tomorrow - but feel very empty about the whole thing.

I was more in mulvey sacking was inevitable camp. Just thought he had a bit more time to improve things with the injuries but things were looking pretty grim.
Who knows how the signing of the new players happened at the moment. this season and very evident in the pre season the mulvey wasn't doing his job.
Just the leaking was disappointing.

The way the sacking happened was amateur. Mulvey won us the double playing a more pragmatic style of Football last year.Against pressing teams we struggled and always ,I repeat always were vulnerable in the first 20 mins of a game. I hated that Mulvey never fixed this. Over the off season ,recruiting was pathetic and I have not seen any evidence of any change in style or a solution to the the pressing game. I had little faith before the season began that we would be a serious contender this season. But watching a team self distruct virtually every game is well below my expectations. Clearly Mulvey could not get the team to the next level and was struggling. He even admitted after losing the FFA Cup game to AU that he got things wrong and needed to change. When he said that I thought WTF?A whole preseason and no idea what he was doing. The sad thing with all this is that we had a quantum leap in memebership and this really is a worst case scenario. If the diehard members won't even turn up ,what hope is there for the rest?

I wonder whether its a manager from the Primiera Liga though? The tweet just says a coach...so it could be a youth coach or an assistant. I wonder if the Bakries have any business interests in Portugal. The link could also come from Frans Thijssen, but i couldn't be bothered to look into the link between him and any Liga coaches.

Honestly cant be farked either, sick of leaks and rumors. Probably the same guy that leaked Mulveys sacking.

What is ironic is how they sacked their coach, two games later theyre back in the top 6
Although granted, if Mulvey was still in charge they might have had troubles trying to be WSW? :-k

In terms of an innovation to raise awareness of football outside the australian cities: do roar fans think the roar should take a couple of games out of Brisbane - ie townsville or cairns to fill the fact there are no a-league clubs, up in that part of the world?
The A league doesnt need expansion, but 1 or 2 games wont hurt?

I am surprised at how well the roar supported outside of Brisbane went to mckay for a wedding and was amazed at seeing roar shirts all over the place. more than any broncos or cowboys. But it's brisbane roar, not the queensland roar anymore. I am not a fan of playing in alternate locations, payed good money to be a member i don't want to a home game taken away from me. I highly doubt they will get more than 10k for a game. the preseason games in townsville was a flop with numbers. The business case is just plain bad. piss off the fans you already got and not getting any more bums on seats.

I see with the Matt Smith transfer debacle that management continues to take knee-jerk decisions and does nothing to address serious issues.
When I emailed club about Mulvey's departure - instant reply saying how it was the right decision.
When I emailed to find out how the investigation of the 'Mulvey leak' was coming along - deathly silence. Complete cover-up no doubt.
Who'd have thought you could cock up a great club in less than 10 weeks!?
Glad we're playing a few games away - I might have some interest back by the time we are back at Suncorp.

Sydney and MV were both a total joke for a few seasons there, they look to be cycling out of it. Probably our time to be the laughing stock again :/

The club doesn't have to answer to questions on who was the cause of the leak. I'm sure the curiosity from outside is there but like any organization they can deal with it internally. The problem with the club was Mulvey. Poor recruitment, poor pre-season preparation and poor decision making. This ensured a very ordinary season was imminent. Magic Mike's terrible results on the pitch vindicated his incompetence and was reason enough for him to get the sack under the disguise of club philosophy for contractual reasons. The snow ball affect is being dealt with quite promptly by the club IMO. Edited by paulc: 10/12/2014 09:13:51 AM

Cant find anywhere this rumour being mentioned before here anywhere, however it had nothing to do with money apparently. From what i can interpret is that the Coach(Mulvey) was not interested in him as he was not impressed with his CV.

Edited by paulc: 10/12/2014 09:13:51 AM So I suppose Mulvey is to blame for this season and everyone other than Mulvey is the reason for last season, right? Mulvey is the only one of them with any class - as shown at last week's awards night.

He is fortunate to have been sacked early ,so he can retain some dignity. If he had stayed until Jan ,he would have been chased to the hills by rabid fans. The new Coach now has limited time and options to change anything. Thanks a lot Mulvey.

Their are rumors about who signed who so maybe some doubt on the signings the roar made. But preseason was the killer. Then you had players like miller (who i am not a fan of anyway) leaving, soon by smith. with time lines that all points to the mulvey period. We can't have a situation like the heart/city were you just keeping JVS on, because he wins that one game in every three that keeps him alive for a little longer, but in the long term he is a rubbish coach.
