Plus didn't the Socceroos play an Asian qualifier at a time / smaller venue because something to do with the tennis?

Wrong thread - there's a dedicated one for rumours and guesswork elsewhere on 442 ;) Should have mentioned the source was Fox. No further information was included. My best guess would be a Spaniard - flavour of the month for the league and JA spent the majority of his time away from coaching back there. On Saturday, Moorey also briefly mentioned his/JAs overseas contacts have been working overtime with them this off season. It is relevant as this is our club thread either way :) Okay, you got me - just read it as another "club xyz is signing the man from the moon" sort of post. 😳 anyway, the couple of players Roar sign next are really important - if they can inspire a positive fan reaction we have a chance of decent crowds, if not who knows? As for Spanish - I thought flavour of the month at Roar was Getman???

We have to remember that when there's a cash flow crises and people are not being paid or paid on time, loyalty goes out the door and less caring decisions are made. When people are dismissed from their employment to cut costs because there's no money, those surviving are constantly looking over their shoulder and act indifferently to situations and what they say. Some call their actions bad management however the common denominator in all this is the lack of cash from the mining magnate. If you call the Mulvey incident bad management then there are many here who believe it was good management as the team was heading for the wooden spoon with its consecutive defeats and playing some of the worst football we've seen in many years. There was also a conflict between Mulvey and management at some point which is of no surprise given the under-performances with a champion winning team. It is of no comfort to me at least if the Bakries just keep the club afloat. It has to do more. Win the trust of the fans for one, but it will be difficult if not impossible. Injecting additional funds to grow the club into one the best in Asia as promised is another. Given the financial status of the Bakries we can kiss this good bye as well. I hope I am wrong. There is only one viable solution and that is for Bakries to leave immediately. Leave some-one else run the club with the sniff of an oily rag, at least they won't go backwards and the players and staff will get paid.

I'm not sure how the bakries get trust back - putting the first million in, paying off ALL the debts by the end of the month, settling the Mulvey matter before it hits court, injecting $100k a month, signing the 4 players promised (and good signings) - all of which have been promised - will probably be a good start ... trust may grow if on field performances are good and we stop reading about the club on the front pages ! What the article fails to note is the absolute contempt with wich fans were treated by the club and FFA last year.Last year memberships were an unmitigated waste of money.Fool me once shame on me! I see the old throw the fans under the bus strategy is in play now. I will say though nothing annoys me more than the assclowns in the media berating the fans on how they should support their team. Quite ironic given that Marco has spent the majority of his time writing shit. Yep having a crack at the fans is an easy target, he's far to gutless to have a go at the Bakries or the FFA and he's been doing some serious brown nosing of Aloisi and Moore the past few months.

The first and only rumour I've seen on Roars mystery foreign midfielder is out: Corona from Spain. If correct he'll fit in with all the other visa signings this off season firmly in the "wait and see" bucket :)

Knowing nothing about the player or if true or not. My worry is he has to be a lot tougher than than the Adelaide Spanish players, specially in the DM role. Brattan was not the strongest player, but he didn't need to as he could read the game and make an interception and wouldn't go down cheaply. Also all his stats where better than everyone favorite milligan.

Article today in the Courier Fail by Marco Dicktervede, says Lambadaridis has signed a 2 month contract as an injury replacement for Henrique, who will be sidelined until at least late November after his knee reconstruction. Also mentioned we are close to signing the mystery foreign midfielder but no hint of any names.

But didn't think he did anything wrong in his time in the first team not to be kept in the squad. I guess he got first bit of the season to prove his worth.

Agreed, i forgot to say Aloisi said he has left the door open for him to stay at the club after the fish returns, so its up to him to prove himself and not get injured i guess. It's tough to get the balance right - we're not short on young players at Roar but we do need quality and experience to drive the midfield which this guy may bring. Roars squad is out of whack at the moment - we have too many people who probably shouldn't be there alas have one more year on their contract. We've got a major clear out due next close season so if this guy gives us one more year that'll be good enough.

Also information that should be emailed. Poor business practices when they should be looking after the fans.

But it was against CCM.... ;)
Good to see Petratos and Brown scoring. Might give them confidence going into the season.
