Asking some of the older heads for advice here...

I'm currently in the process of trying to get things heading in an official direction with a girl that I've been seeing for a few weeks. The catch is that we met through a friend (not a close friend) who doesn't know we've been seeing each other (or that we are even in contact) and the girl I'm seeing thinks the mutual friend would be absolutely furious if she found out that we'd been seeing each other.

At the moment we're thinking about staging a night were the two girls go out to our local bar, and I just happen to be there. The plan then would be to make it look like the girl I'm keen on and me are just really getting to know each other then... But we're still not 100% convinced it'll work.

We realise it was stupid to have kept it quiet from the beginning but there comes a point when you just have to bring it out into the open.
