So you have no evidence to support this assertion, but I'm "silly bam bam ono the yo yo to get a spine and show some starch and stop the rhetoric".
OK.

Going over to Indo, being told to jog on by all their politicans and coming back heralding it as some kind of "success" to the Australian people. Which is complete and utter bullshit.

Nobody is steam rolling Australia. I think someone has moved on from enjoying their own fiction to fantasies of John Marsden novels. You're awfully snide lately. It's not like they've got an army 14 times the size of Australia's or anything... Indonesia are one of the fastest growing economies in asia, it would bode well for Australia to continue to placate them. And what country on earth, when told by another country what to do with its own territory wouldn't tell them to fuck off? That's how I feel about the UNHCR, just want to tell them to fuck off rather than them try to dictate who comes here, by what means and how many.

It's just your skewed interpretation because you don't like Mr Abbott and everything he does you will find fault with. All the sources I've read where that the talks were progressive and neither side conceded much, just the usual diplomatic platitudes exchanged and talks about "mutual cooperation" etc. but the important thing is the boat arrivals have slowed down significantly and many lives saved, so the policies are clearly working.

So we do as they ask with other nation's refugees as best we can. Y'know, trying as best we can not to take America's title as the global asshole. I love this. In the same Paragraph you've talked up Tony Abbott, admitted that he's achieved nothing and nothing has changed but also given him credit for thee decrease in boat arrivals. You know what's changed between 6 months ago and now? The final destination of the boats. You know where the boats are going now? PNG. You know whose policy that was? Kevin Rudd.

You know what's changed between 6 months ago and now? The final destination of the boats. You know where the boats are going now? PNG. You know whose policy that was? Kevin Rudd. Well I don't think we should base our border policies on the hypothetical scenario Australia breaks into civil war, lol. Every country has a sovereign right and responsibility to govern its borders and exercise discretion over who and how many can enter, we also have a responsibly to help as best we can. Helping isn't encouraging people to give their money to criminals so they can get on a boat that doesn't float, that's cruel and stupid. We are already "paying it forward" as we have second highest intake per capita through UNCHR, UN and governments should empower this program rather than people smugglers. Hahahaha. So Rudd dismantles the pacific solution claiming it doesn't stop the boats, which results in an influx of boats and people killed, and then reinstates the pacific solution with a new name, and claims credit for stopping the boats. Yes he was a times a brilliant politician.

We rank 2nd through the UNCHR. And we're able to provide a decent standard of living rather just than rotting under some piece of hessian.

In 1988 after being tired of the failings of their politicians the people of Rio voted to elect a chimpanzee under the campaign slogan vote monkey get monkey. That year crime went down, employment went up and the economy grew. In 2013 the people of Australia tried to do the same. However Abbott has not been able to deliver the same results.

The success or failure of operation sovereign borders doesn't hinge on turning boats around , it's just one aspect of a wider suite of policy measures.
The end goal isn't turning every single boat back around to Indonesia, the end goal is stopping the boats. Sometimes boats will be turned around (two have been already) sometimes they won't, clearly you're all just zeroing on one trivial setback because you're all terrified of the clear picture at is emerging and that is that the policies are working wonders and illegal boat arrivals are drastically down. So course any kind of "hiccup" you will desperately cling onto and blow massively out of proportion because you have no real ammo left.

Idiots That's not what Tony said when he outlined his plan and policy both during and after election time. As for boat arrivals being down, what actual factual evidence do you have of that? -PB

Idiots lol......like when Abbott and Hockey were jostled and roughed up by militant students last week......abused and prevented from entering the educational facility......all because of the changes to funding put in place by Gillard & Rudd.......but when Gillard & Rudd turned up no one was hassled.....it's just the agenda of lefties.....simplistic......

It could be left-wing agenda. Or in REALITY it's probably because Gillard and Rudd didn't slash education funding, cut jobs from the CSIRO and fold the ministry for Sciences portfolio. rusty wrote:Boat arrival are down by about 90% REPORTS of boat arrivals might be down 90%. Because Abbott passed bills banning it from being reported. The number of arrivals are still the same. Also, although claiming to have reduced arrivals by 90% he hasn't provided any literature or statistics to support that other than his word.

Mr wrote:rusty wrote:Boat arrival are down by about 90% From when champ? Seems to be the same level from When Rudd V.2 introduced Manus Island and Nauru. Nope they've dropped considerably since Rudd got throw out for a second time. Don't forget Rudd and Labor single handedly created this disaster by dismantling the pacific solution only to later reinstate it and incredibly claim credit for slowing boat arrivals. It's shocking hypocrisy and indicative of the kind of morally diseased party labor is.
