A sin worthy of death sentence that.

Just another drop in the growing evidence puddle of Liberal fiscal incompetence.

I don't think a puddle quite compares with the ocean of debt Labor left us

Weird, it's a lot worse now than it ever was with the ALP. I thought that the LNP were going to fix everything? Now they can't even release reports that they are legally obliged to release.

So Labor left us with the fastest growing debt in the world and it's all the LNP's fault the shit is hitting the fan? They are obviously TRYING to fix the mess Labor left but there having trouble getting shit through the senate having to deal with intellectual bovines like Lazarus, Lambie and the Labor party blocking everything wanting desperately the government to fail by setting up the country for failure. Unless the LNP can implement their reform agenda the stench of the last Labor government and their fiscal recklessness will continue to derail and deform the entire economy.

"Labor did it" doesn't really fly after nearly 2 years in office.

Do have to chuckle at LNP stooges crying about blocking policy without a hint of self-awareness.

LNP incompetence, from the treasurer that doesn't understand income tax, to the communications minister that sabotaged a broadband project to be inferior and more expensive than the program it replaced, to the family minister who wasted time and money on "relationship vouchers" that nobody wanted to the attorney general that can't explain fundamental aspects of his citizen spying program that is apparently essential to keep us safe (from movie pirates)... None of the LNPs incompetence can be attributed to Labor.

Your mates are ideologically backwards assuming that they are born to rule rather than born to govern. The electorate doesn't want a bar of them.

As a stout Liberal voter, this Government is really crapping up at the moment.

What I don't want to see is another Labor party circus in another spill. Abbott is head-desk worthy but I would rather he stay in power for the time he was elected for than to go down to Labors level of infighting.

In other news, though Julia Gillard was the first female Prime Minister, I wonder if feminist groups will look on the first elected female Prime Minister with more importance

So what was Julia Gillard then?

I think the point he's making is Gillard became PM after forming a minority government with Windsor, Oakeshott etc. Technically the constituency didn't elect a government that day.

and the feminists don't care because she has a penis

No one found it funny the first time you said it.

so you have asked everyone????

otherwise STFU

You said it the first time. Not one lol or =d> or  . You repeated it . Frankly he made a fair call. If you were 40 years younger the joke would still be too immature.

Um, you just can't spend six years in government, go from having no net debt to $226 billion, inheriting billion dollar surpluses and committing the nation to the fastest spending growth in the world, plant landmines all over the economy and completely wipe your hands of it after 18 months because some other mob is in government. Where is the accountability in that?

I guess it's in Labors pscyh though, to completely deny any wrong doing, to shift all the blame onto others, and continue to leave the countries finances in a parlous state because it might be conducive to them winning government. Whether it be boats sinking and thousands of people drowning, insulation installers getting electrocuted, homes burning down or leaving a massive mortgage behind for some future generation to pay, the concept of accountability within Labor ranks is completely non-existent.

Why we may never see a surplus again

AUSTRALIA, we’re in trouble.
The country may never get back into budget surplus if the government’s spending cuts continue to be blocked by Labor and the Senate, the governor of the Reserve Bank and the head of Treasury have warned.
The ominous predictions on the future of the nation’s finances were made by new Treasury Secretary John Fraser and RBA boss Glenn Stevens in an extraordinary briefing to Cabinet on Tuesday, The Daily Telegraph reports.
In a 20-page slide presentation, the finance chiefs showed the budget position continuing to worsen without significant structural reform.

They showed that even with an economic growth path of 3 per cent per annum, the budget would continue to be in deficit beyond the 10-year prediction made in last year’s budget forecasts.
While Labor has labelled the government’s spending cuts as “unfair”, Mr Fraser’s presentation showed the government was now borrowing $110 million a day to pay its interest bills on debt and the growing budget deficit.
Treasurer Joe Hockey has been sharing Treasury forecasts with colleagues in recent weeks to highlight the mounting problem the country faces unless savings measures are passed through the Senate.
It is the first time Mr Stevens has briefed the Cabinet in his eight years as RBA governor.

That's really good. Just make up some large amount of money, pin it on the LNP and blame them for blowing up the budget. I suppose the Libs caused the GFC as well right?

You know I think I'll take the billions in surpluses, the billions in negative net debt (surplus) over some IMF report typed on a few dollars worth of paper.

Those same taxes that either raised no money, killed jobs, increased the cost of living pressures and strangled investment? Raising taxes is super easy, all you need to do is go "plonk" and calculate a whole bunch of extra revenue based on current trends, and then totally blind yourself to implications it will have on jobs, investment and cost of living.

Given the future projections for debt growth I'm so glad we decided to axe the super profits tax....I mean our four big banks only make an annual profit of something like a collective $300 million.
