I thought Gillards impact was minimal. I like that Malcom held back and took the job only when Tony had made it untenable beyond a doubt, where-as Gillards challenge seemed to not be inspired by anything other than ambition relying soley on the fact that the rest of the ALP thought Krudd had become a bullying cnut.

Krudds approval ratings had dropped but not to anything that would be too worrying. And it showed when they asked him back to dethrone Gillard at the end.

In reality Gillard holds a lot of responsibility for us enduring the worst Priministerial run with Tony at the helm.

Why does Abbott get credit for stopping the boats? The only thing he stopped was the flow of information to the media.
