Jowel wrote:So, it appears the FFA have now gone dead quiet regarding whether a western sydney club has ACTUALLY been given the green light.
If a team will be playing at the end of this year, isn't it time we bloody knew about it???
Edited by jowel: 7/3/2012 11:04:27 AM dont worry mate they wont be silent for much longer, its about now they release a statement describing another set back for western sydney

They can't release a statement saying that WS is in and GCU is out.
That will kill off any fans or hope in the Gold Coast for a team there next season.
They are obviously waiting until the end of the season for the nature of the announcement. 9 team comp, 10 team comp with GCU, 10 team comp with WS in place of GCU, or 11 team comp.

Would any of these colours or colour combinations be considered? particularly the orange/blue of parramatta, seeing as that is most likely going to be their home.
after the red/white/black of sydney rovers, i'm beggining to see it as the colours west sydney must have. cant imagine anything else. only alternative would be orange, if they felt the urge to allign themselves with west tigers, gws. they couldnt possibly go yellow/blue despite being in parra.

Should they get the next expansion licence yes they should have a one to two year lead in time whether playing national youth league and state league football to build a base.
Think what you like about the AFL but they gave both the golf coast suns and the GWS giants a good lead in time to build a team

Just go complete white. Then everyone is happy as its a neutral colour.
Every colour in the light spectrum combined gives you white light ;)

Every colour in the light spectrum combined gives you white light ;) And the opposite is true for subtractive colours, gives you black (or dark grey really). White and Black? ;)

top one for me, the "A" with the falcon wings makes it look like a shoe brand or ice hockey logo.
EDIT: just did some research apparently the "Black Falcon" is only found in Australia and concentrated in NSW so is that where the use of the falcon came from in your logos. Also good reason to keep the black in the team colours.

The traditional colours for all Western Suburbs rep sporting teams are black and white. By Western Suburbs I mean west of the 31/32 junction.
I can't see why we need any name other than Western Suburbs FC. Any "marketing" nickname could and should evolve naturally.

Like the falcon idea, not too keen on the badges. Look a little too ice-hockey, baseball i.e. American for me.
Maybe a blend of the first one with a more heraldic based falcon design? Colours I likey though

Edited by jargernaut: 8/3/2012 12:20:28 PM The idea came from this picture below and i just left Rafin/Rabbi design the rest using the Sporting Lisbon Logo with colour alterations.

I don't know about the falcon idea, it could attract a lot of 'below the belt' comments.

Like the third one. Ball ruins the first one. Having Football club or fc on a badge should be enough. A ball is just a pointless space taker, you cant market a football as a club symbol. Falcon in the second distracts from the overall badge. Fourth is just blah. 'A' on the fourth could easily be a supporters symbol encompassing both the name and symbol of the club (I'm no ws fan of course). Fits into the badge without down playing the colors As well. Of course the end result will most likely be a football with West Sydney written in small letters and ATHLETIC right in your face. much like Hearts badge instead of that Bats mock up.
Of course that doesn't mean its too late for the Yarraside to adopt Batmania. You're (for notorganic)the voice of the club, make it want you want.

A lot of rivalries are red vs blue. they are very strong opposing colours. -- I really like this kit design That's a great looking kit, would be instantly recognizable in a lineup of HAL teams. I Like it.
