Iridium1010 wrote:^ ahhhh that makes sense.
Also forgot to say, Stannis is back in action:cool: .
Any ideas on what his next move will be? He has 4,000 men, plus I imagine he'll buy 10,000 golden company.
Oh and like all Game of thrones locations, Braavos looked great.
Edited by iridium1010: 13/5/2014 07:04:46 PM I should probably add that we should never take Varys' actions on face value. He could be trying to manipulate Oberyn in the throne room scene. It is plausible that he allowed Oberyn to detect his accent to establish a personal connection and used the allusion to the throne to subtly imply he has no fondness for the Lannisters. I agree that Shae could have been a plant from Tywin, however I also believe she came to love Tyrion deeply and is wounded by his actions. I'm not sure on Stannis, I feel he is doomed to fail but I don't know how he is going to get to that point. He won't try and seize King's Landing again, at least not so soon. He will surely try to consolidate his power by uniting disgruntled factions under his banner using his newfound wealth. I was pretty excited to finally see Bravos, even if it was only briefly.

his best of the series so far.
He's already gotten a best supporting actor Emmy for the role, maybe a best lead one is due! I hate to sound like that one c*nt who always big notes Breaking Bad...but I'm going to anyway. That speech was brilliant and Dinklage owned it it, but we're talking about one scene here and he's going to face very stiff competition from Aaron Paul in the best supporting category. Paul's character underwent greater suffering and anguish throughout the final season than Tyrion has in GoT S04 imo, and he was captivating throughout. I'm not trying to start a dick measuring contest between GoT and BB but this is one phenomenal scene, whereas the BB writers afforded Paul far greater opportunities to showcase his talents. As for best lead, I'm not sure about the eligibility criteria but considering the large cast size of GoT and resulting shared airtime would he even be eligible? Even if he was though, Bryan Cranston and Matthew McConnaughey were phenomenal in BB and True Detective respectively, I can't see anyone pipping one of them for best lead tbh. Spacey will win for House of Cards, if the Emmys have joined the 21st century and include streaming. I fucking love Spacey in House of Cards, but imo no way he wins over McConaughey. And I'd say Robin Wright winning an Emmy last year shows they have joined the 21st century ;)

There is a scene in episode 2, where Cersei ponts out to Tywin that Shae is Tyrions whore. Tywins response is to have her brought to the tower of the hand after the ceremony, but there is nothing said about it at all. That could be where it was all concocted.
Bronn also told Tyrion that Shae was on a boat to Pentos, but obviously she wasnt. Is Bronn a Lannister spy? Has he been bought out?
Im interested to see who will fight in the trial by combat. I had a thought that it could be Jaime (fighting for Tyrion) vs Bronn (fighting for the Realm), but Tyrion is smarter than to choose a fighter with only one hand.
Thoughts on who will fight? Please dont spoil if you have read the books!

Judging on next episode preview and the season preview we got..
Looks like the giant will represent the crown. He is there best warrior after all. Which makes me think tyrion will nominate Prince Oberyn.

Good spot, I watched that episode today too, I also noticed that Bronn said that someone had followed them when Shae was taken to a ship. On Varys I noticed in episode 2 that when Tyrion asked him to lie, he said he will not because he has no protection against Cersei and Tywin, who could have him killed. I think he had no choice but to provide evidence against Tyrion, and that when he said "Sadly, I never forget a thing" he meant that he is sorry that he has to. The fight will without a doubt be Oberyn vs The Mountain, which was gave away in the season trailer, and makes perfect sense really. Edited by iridium1010: 14/5/2014 08:42:33 PM

I thought that they really shouldn't have shown Oberyn fighting the Mountain in the previews...along with the Headline of the episode. That is a massive spoiler.
It should've been title "The Mountain and the Challenger" instead of the "Mountain and the Red Viper".
Absolute Giveaway.

Edited by iridium1010: 15/5/2014 12:07:39 AM From the books - Safe to read Quote:Have no fear, sers, your king is safe... no thanks to you. Even now, I could cut through the five of you as easy as a dagger cuts cheese. Barristan the Bold, described as one of the best fighters of all time, incredibly devoted Kingsguard, one of the few survivors of the old regime after the War of the Usurper. But... is admittedly getting older. Edited by YerNathanael: 15/5/2014 12:15:01 AM

Absolute Giveaway. From the moment Oberyn was introduced he was frothing about fighting the Mountain, and he struck a deal with Tywin that he would get the Mountain if he sat on the Jury for Tyrion's trial. The Mountain v Oberyn fight was going to happen regardless, and it will be the trial by combat- but it isn't necessarily a giveaway to say it is happening.

That's actor number three for the Mountain. Big unit, but doesn't bare nearly as much resemblance to Sandor as the first one, who was Strayan.

TWO WEEK BREAK, DAMN IT ALL. I WANT OBERYN V MOUNTAIN NOW.
Also 433 that will probably be 3 weeks, as I'm pretty sure ep 9 covers that whole event.
