Cant stand this pathetic confected adulation for "Aussie" Gavrilova, she's been here les s than two years and every second question is like "soz how duz it feelz to be Strayan, Gavvo?." They dont come here to become Australian they come here for our tennis resources and to further their careers. Womens tennis must be so bereft of home grown talent we have to poach talent from Eastern Europe, we are like the Croatia of football. Still Id rather look at her than Nicole Pratt, Stosur and every other masculinised lesbian Australian tennis player

And at the end of the day: you just need a pickup artist like Stepanek to clean up :-k

And at the end of the day: you just need a pickup artist like Stepanek to clean up :-k From memory, Wimbledon organisers admitted to this tactic. For what it's worth These Russian tennis players do not help perpetuate the stigma against Russian women, ie the ones that are wanting to hear from you/ marry you All of which started by the original Russian bride-> EDIT: the question that rages is what happened to tennis players being tennis players? The old days of Pratt, Stosur, Kuznetsova, Bartoli are old hat, and theres a troubling thought that women dont watch tennis or what needs to be looked at is more important rather than talk about the game itself. That compulsion has white anted the competition and the standard of women's tennis, where only Serena Williams is the one that wins all the time, because a tennis player (like Bartoli) could challenge her in a game of tennis, not a supermodel who can hold a tennis racquet to look pretty (conversely: sex sells and makes money for the game). Even more troubling is nobody cares or recalls that Serena Williams wins all the women grand slams Ah whatever, tennis is a sport for the yuppies anyway! =; Edited by condemned666: 23/1/2016 12:41:33 PM

With Djokovic & Federer in the top half of the draw & Nadal knocked out early the bottom half of the draw has really opened up.
Murray & Wawrinka are still there but a huge opportunity for Monfils. Raonic, Ferrer, Isner & maybe even Tomic to go on a really big run and potentially even make the final.

Cant see Tomic ever making a final, not enough power. What he lacks in power he doesnt make up for in other areas of his game like speed, volleying etc. Top 15 player at best.

It does my head in when people sook about Kyrgios in regards to his behaviour and how it's an embarrassment to our country, these people still can't get it into their heads that tennis is an individual sport all year long outside of Davis cup, Kyrgios represents himself not Australia on the tour , absolutely no need for anyone to take offence.
The reality is all players start off as semi lunatics, Djokovic was hated, Hewitt was running around calling umpires spastics, serena Williams has threatened line umpires, even the golden boy Federer was prone to losing his mind, McEnroe was a lunatic, who could forget that epic martina Hingis tantrum against steffi Graf at the French open where she went as far as serving underarm to gain an edge...if any Aussie players did stuff like this it would be like the end of the world.
I'm not a fan of the way Kyrgios carries on, but it's hardly something that I'd ever take personal, at the end of the day it's up to him to snap out of his ways, his natural talent can take him very far.

I dunno about Top 15 at best, he's only 23 right now about to enter his prime and he's ranked 17th. Inside the top 20 there are eight guys over 30 years of age as well, I'd expect him to make top 10 at some stage of his career.

Then you have the flip side, Sampras for eg was disliked for being boring and labelled a robot. But he let his tennis do the talking.
People just place unrealistic expectations on these tennis players. They demand the perfect mix of tennis ability, entertainment and behaviour, it's never gonna happen.
Tomic can definitely sneak into the top 10 but I don't think he has the weapons to win a slam. Kyrgios can pretty much time his run to enter his peak just as the big 4 depart..plenty of slams in him if he really wants it.

Djokovic is known as 'the cat'
He has 9 lives in a grand slam, he probably has the experience to get past Simon?

there is no confirmation bias or bias of tennis players on the basis of how they look but when-> plays this-> the bias is strong in this one! * although one of them might be a Rushin' Bride... :-k Edited by condemned666: 24/1/2016 08:30:13 PM
