Villa fans are a bit fickle, next week he will play a blinder and will be a bargain signing again.

I didn't get to see the match between Boro and Blackpool but the general consensus seems to be that McDonald was the MOTM. He has been very good so far this season after the problems at the start and seems to be a much more rounded player this season. His work rate of late has been phenomenal.

Would be perfect if both Boro and Crystal palace make the premier league this season

It would be, especially if we have the three socceroos playing regularly.
That and we dont have reading and villa relegated

Captain's armband? Good to see. The Williams/Woodgate CB combo is surely a very good one, and may set the platform for making the EPL next season.

For the most part, strikers should be selected on form, more so than any other position. So IMO he should definitely be getting a recall.

+1. This time actually give him 3 or 4 full matches for the NT.

Based on which performances?

He's had a few mediocre performances lately, I understand he was a mega star in he Asia cup against superpower nations like UAE and Uzbekistan but if we are to be taken seriously at he world cup we need better players than he is. Why would you pick Matty when we have far superior players like Rogic who are destined for successful careers in Europe, and is technically 100 times better. I can think of at least half dozen midfielders I'd want ahead of Matty, nothing against him he is just a limited player and a fringe/back up Socceroo at best.

He's been consistently one of our best players when played in midfield.

You've consistently demonstrated extremely limited knowledge about the game so I hope no one takes this seriously.

You have some players who are your personal favourites and every Socceroo who's not on that list you continuously put down regardless of performances.

Matty has done extremely well against mostly very limited opposition, he's very rarely if ever been challenged at a higher level. I think he went to Rangers for a little while and it didn't go so well, that was his brief flirtation with a proper challenge. I hope people realise the teams that play at the World Cup are quire a bit better than those at the Asia cup and World Cup qualifiers, where its comparitively much easier to shine and look like a good player. I don think it requires "football knowledge" to realise this, just a functional brain. If we send out a team of Matty McKays and Jade North into the World Cup fray we are going to get humiliated. We need to think bigger.

And then putting forward Rogic, a kid who can't play twenty minutes without sucking wind, hands on hips, dogging it while the ball goes past him.

I'd take 20 minutes of Rogic over 90 min of Matty anyday
