Using ELO football ratings system, to follow Aussie Abroad Those of you don't know, Elo rating system, is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of Chess players vs other Chess players http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system1997 Bob Runyan adapted the Elo rating system to use on international football and posted the results on the Internet. and now this rating is on each nation team wiki web page, along with FIFA ranting http://www.eloratings.net/world.htmlhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Football_Elo_RatingsNow clubelo.com provides Elo ratings for Euro club football from the early days of the European Cups until today http://clubelo.com/Like all ranting or ranking , is an estimation of strength based on past result. Ranking don't tell where a team will be in future..but as we can't watch all games of football in Europe, then a ranking systerm base on Maths , is the best unbiased way to view football across all Euro league and teams here a list of team rantings where some Australia players are base (number is ELO points) 1931 Borussia Dortmund, Ger (Mitchell Langerak)1869 Chelsea, Eng (Mark Schwarzer)1815 Bayer Leverkusen, Ger (Robbie Kruse)1754 Liverpool, Eng (Brad Jones)1659 Mainz 05, Ger (Nikita Rukavytsya)1603 Aston Villa, Eng (Chris Herd)1595 Dynamo Moscow, Rus (Luke Wilkshire)1584 Parma, Ita (Terry Antonis)1565 Celtic, Sco (Tom Rogić)1547 Club Brugge, Bel (Mathew Ryan)1524 Fortuna Düsseldorf, Ger (Ben Halloran)1513 Atalanta, Ita (James Troisi)1508 Reading, Eng (Adam Federici)1497 Sassuolo, Ita (Carl Valeri)1491 Austria Wien, Aut (James Holland)1476 Luzern, Swi (Oliver Bozanić)1468 Utrecht, Hol (Michael Zullo, Adam Sarota, Tommy Oar)1455 AZ, Hol (Eli Babalj)1424 Crystal Palace, Eng (Mile Jedinak)1424 FSV Frankfurt, Ger (Mathew Leckie)1358 Hajduk Split, Cro (Steven Lustica)1330 Heracles Almelo, Hol (Jason Davidson)1326 Middlesbrough, Eng (Rhys Williams)1305 Millwall, Eng (Scott McDonald, Shane Lowry)1247 Heart of Midlothian, Sco (Dylan McGowan)1215 Kilmarnock, Sco (Jackson Irvine)1118 Derry City, Ire (Mark Griffin)I hope this is helpful, when looking at Aussie Abroad Edited by adrtho: 17/8/2013 11:15:03 AMEdited by adrtho: 17/8/2013 11:15:58 AM

Nice list, I think we could say Reading and Crystal Palace will be close to swapping spots though with them swapping leagues and Dusseldorf will also drop with their relegation

Edited by moofa: 17/8/2013 11:53:46 AM yes. Moofa, this could very well be the case this ranting, would still be very much base on last 10-15 games of last season

Celtic v Aberdeen tonight - Celtic have a number of injury doubts, Rogic being one of them. Hopefully he manages to make the bench or something.
Think Kilmarnock are playing at midnight too, will be interesting to see if Irvine makes an appearance.

Little paragraph on Halloran in a Dusseldorf transfer article (translated) Quote:The rumors about Ben Halloran on the other hand have not been confirmed. The Australian will remain in Fortuna. "He's just starting times for eight weeks," coach Mike took Büskens the player's defense. So perhaps some chatter about Halloran being loaned or not up to standard? Anyway as the article states, the manager says he's only been there for 8 weeks and certainly needs time to adjust. http://www.rp-online.de/sport/fussball/vereine/fortuna/timo-furuholm-wechselt-nach-halle-1.3608919
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Kruse starting...please don't make me laugh. It's horrible as he has Hegeler, Hilbert and Can to fight for game time today.

Amini subbed on at HT. Currently down 3-0. Halloran scored for Fortuna II. Currently up 3-2.

Highlights here (he is number 29). You would have to wonder what he must be doing if they want him away so quickly especially since he is getting full games for the reserves. If he is going on loan you would think playing in the 4th division in Dusseldorf's system would be better than a different teams system in the third division. here is another article that suggests he is going. http://www.rp-online.de/sport/fussball/vereine/fortuna/erwin-hoffer-trainiert-am-freitag-bei-der-fortuna-mit-1.3606224Quote:In addition, Timo Furuholm and Ben Halloran stand before the departure from the state capital.

Concedes from a penalty. Got a hand to it but not enough and it squeezes in to the back of the net.
FT. KV Mechelen 1:2 Club Brugge
After watching a couple of Ryan's league games have to say I'm impressed. Seems like he's carried his A-league form to Belgium. Expecting people to disagree but if he can continue to impress and if Schwarzer continues to stay on the bench I'd rather see Ryan as our no.1 in Brazil.

Geez, sad to see Kruse not involved early on in the season. Personally, would've thought most of his involvement would be early on.
