Holland got sent off. Wrong decision by the ref though.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

If he starts ten games he is a chance Not many Socceroo CB options getting regular 90 minutes at that level, if any with Williams, Good and Sainsbury out. the stars may be aligning for him if sainsbury good and williams arent back and he plays ten games im picking lucas Maybe playing at RB? it might be worth having him in the squad to cover for CB and RB if he does ok in this stint. i'd rather see a change but we really need some flexibility on the bench.

at one point he set up a serious goal chance with some skill on his feet taking the ball through the middle third and carving up the chelsea midfield and finishing with a nice pass out to the wing. really nice work, maybe he was watchin rogic in roo's training.

With Oar also ripping it up, our left side for the Socceroos is sewn up for the next decade, and I like what I see. Yeah agreed, except Chippers wasn't that great, highly overrated.

Great bit of individual brilliance on a counter attack nearly resulted in an assist. Hopefully some highlights are up soon. Based on what you've seen of him does he seem a lot better than when he was in the A-League? Can't remember much of him here but his awareness and decision making has probably improved a lot considering the pace is much faster and there's less time afforded on the ball. He also plays all across midfield (I'm probably wrong but I only remember Halloran as a right winger at Brisbane). It's worthwhile watching the whole thing but 10:23 is a good highlight pretty large skill sethallaron shows there

This Chipps was solid but it is very easy to look good when your'e team (Basel) is worth 5-10 times more than all of your domestic rivals

He won awards and shit. He was like one of the best in the whole league.

Ange surely will have kept an eye on him due to his obvious knowledge of and access into Greek football and his belief in casting the net wide, so ball's in his court if Ange think he's worth calling up. In Ange we trust.

I hope Giannou makes the squad but I feel it is unlikely. I have seen Giannou be down as playing LW, CAM and ST so is quite versatile and very skillful for his size (similar to Rogic).
The Greek league is not the best but according to UEFA coefficients it is above Switzerland where Vidosic and Bozanic are playing and making the national team. Going off goal contributions in the league Giannou is similar to the others also with 8 (4 goals, 4 assists), Vidosic 8 (5 goals, 3 assists), Bozanic 6 (5 goals 1 assist). On Form at the moment Giannou is ahead though. Vidosic has had some falling out and is missing games plus training with the under 21's, Bozanic is subbed virtually every game and hasn't scored since September. Giannou has a goal and 3 assists in his last 5 games so is should be in for at least a look at.
Troisi and Taggart are two others who will look at getting in for a similar role and with both having many more goals it would be a close call but I hope he is at least given a good look at.

I would have him in the squad without a doubt. The Greek league isn't the best but it is certainly ahead of Holland, Switzerland, Denmark, Japan, MLS. The latter two may have more money and better facilities but in terms of raw player quality it is right up their. Producing teams that have been making the CL knock out stages for a long time. He might prefer Greece but no one is going to say no to a WC.

No, because he was often out if position and gave away a ton of free kicks. Watch the Uruguay game, he gave Recoba almost a dozen free kicks out on the left. He turned into a bitter old twat much later.
