So close, was a brilliant save.

My mate definately watched him first-hand play against Aarau and said he was truly unbelievably good. Why do people keep mentioning Antonis? He didn't play the first half of the season, and has had two good games ffs. If anyone is damning of Lucas Neill, they physically should be unable to support the idea of Antonis going to the WC IMO.

Both Bozanic and Vidosic have played bugger all in the last few months.
Antonis has a future and Neill doesn't. I wouldn't take Antonis, but I would have him ahead of Neill in a heart beat.

I think our midfielders should be Milligan, Jedinak, Holland, Sarota, Leckie, Halloran, Oar, Trosi, Bresciano and Rogic. Brattan and Antonis need to go to Europe, but I think they will be good enough in the future. I'd take all four of Vidosic, Bozanic, Brattan or Antonis before I would take Holland. Simply looks good in a winning team and goes missing when needed. If Holland is on the plane to Brazil it will be the biggest con job since Dexter Rosales. Holland was solid in the UCL I think he has done enough for the back up DM spot.

PV4 said that people shouldn't mention Antonis if they aren't also considering Neill as they have played similar amounts over the last season. I was replying to PV4.

In cricketing terms he is a flat track bully. Looks good in a good team but if the team is under pressure don't look to him. Since we will undoubtedly be under pressure in Brazil - especially if we are down to a backup DM - then I would much rather have someone who won't go missing. Whether it is Brattan, Vidosic, Bozanic or Luongo - as long as it is not Holland.

Can't imagine Mainz will have any use for Ruka, seems to have really declined. Wonder where he'll end up?
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I think it's a sideways move at best. Should be aiming for a team pushing for promotion if he's going to stay in the Buli 2

Yeah poor move for Leckie. If they buy him out he should knock back the contract and at the very least stay with FSV. A B1 team would be mad for not getting him at 750k, thats below what the guy is worth for sure.

Thought he was going to wait until after the World cup to make a decision, will be interesting to see how many players Ingolstadt sign as going off this season they are not close to getting promotion

Meh....
At least he'll get another full season under his belt. He should be first choice up front for them. It would be hard for him to break into the starting eleven of a bundesliga club and maybe there was no interest from the Bundesliga.
FSV were definitely on the slide and lost a lot of games towards the end of the season, I think they'll struggle next season so he had to leave the sinking ship.

just looking into this transfer a little more. Apparently they have signed two other players on free transfers, a striker from Austria and a CB from another 2.Bundesliga club. Also two things I found funny, firstly Ingolstadt are officially on snapchat and this. Quote:Leckie is more expensive than Ronaldo The FC Ingolstadt has a new hope. Mathew Leckie is his name and plays in the Australian national team. Therefore, the 23-year-old is at the World Cup in Brazil in use. But as of now Leckie is in great demand - but not only in Ingolstadt. Because on the well-known Internet auction site eBay will cost Abziehbildchen Leckies for the panini Sammelheft World Cup 1.21 €. For comparison, Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo can be had for a mere 99 cents - here is the but with 94 million euro transfer fee is the most expensive player in the world. Fortunately, the Abziehbildchen are not a measure of the transfer fee. Otherwise would have the Leckie FC Ingolstadt cost the equivalent of around 112 million euros. So deep the Schanzer then had upon the engagement of Leckies not reach into his pocket. But at least in one point Leckie is already worth more than Cristiano Ronaldo - even if that only applies to eBay.

Silly decision by Leckie should've waited after the World Cup and then make a decision about his club career, who knows if he does well in Brazil he might get a better offer from another club, especially a Bundesliga club, such a wasted opportunity.

little weird, maybe they offered him a fat contract but to move before the world cup is not the smartest thing.

Not sure why people think it's a bad move. I put Leckie in the class of being a very good BuLi2 player but not quite good enough for BuLi1. I don't think his touch is good enough. So why not move to a decent club for some good coin and look to spend the next few years there?
As for moving pre-WC - why is that such a bad thing? Do people seriously think we'll have so many attacking opportunities that Leckie will be able to show how great he is and score a higher level contract?
Besides which, it gives him certainty on what he is doing after Brazil.

Hmm guess we will have to wait and see what happens with Leckie. On face value its a terrible move, but who knows. I can't see a team like Ingolstadt earning promotion, but stranger things have happened. Id be more inclined to think that FSV would have had a better chance, but if Ingolstadt are aiming for promotion maybe they are splashing some cash. I would have thought the development structure at FSV would be superior as well. Interesting to read that they tried everything to hold on to him, maybe they just threw too much money at him and the offer was too good to turn down. Did he sign a 3 year contract? I think if he has a good season and they don't at least finish top four he should be looking to get out of there, they are a mid table club and have been for the past few years after earning promotion to B.2

VVV play their first match in the Dutch promotion play-off early tomorrow against Dortrecht. Whether or not Ascroft gets a run is anyone's guess.

On Leckie's move...why is it bad for him to move before the World Cup? For some players, I could see why...as they have a chance to impress at the tournament. But, for most of the Aussies, I don't think this World Cup will be the shop window some think it will be...
Also, looking at a conversation on twitter, seems like Leckie's new club is looking at spending some real cash in the off-season to make a big push for promotion.
