McCarthy has been sold to QPR, so looks like an assured full season in goals for Feds.

Much more exited about this than the Demetriou one, really think he could get a chance in the first team at some point in the season. Will have to impress in the U21's first of course but hopefully after not too long he will be on of the first to be called upon if there is an injury or just fixture congestion. On a one year deal for me suggests they want to try him out but not commit, also in there article they mention he is signed as a midfielder. http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/gallifuoco-signs-1884484.aspxQuote:The 20-year-old arrives at the Liberty on a free transfer after his contract with Tottenham expired and will now link up with the club's Under-21 squad. Australian-born Gallifuoco spent three years at White Hart Lane and played in the same development side as Swans loanee Tom Carroll. And he is relishing the opportunity of starting a new chapter in SA1. "I'm very excited," he said. "It's the perfect club for me to take the next step in my career and I can't wait to get started. "I had a brief chat with Garry Monk and he said that there are opportunities at this club if I work hard and that's what I intend to do. "I was excited when I learned of the club's interest and it's a Premier League club that plays brilliant football and I'm delighted to be here." Meanwhile, Giancarlo's arrival in SA1 reunites him with fellow new recruit James Demetriou, who he played with at Under-11 level in Sydney, Australia.

A friend of mine is good friends with James demetriou. He tells me he played/plays for Cyprus because he can. Doesn't think there is much to it at all and tells me he would choose australia over Cyprus if/when the time comes. Also tells me he is a very good footballer and it's a matter of time before a lot of people know that

Brillante is going to at least be on the bench for Fiorentina's first game. They have named a 21 man squad to travel to Roma and since you are allowed up to 12 on the bench he should be there. Was some talk of Pizzaro not going but he has been named. No Rossi though which is disappointing if anyone wants to watch the match. Quote:Fiorentina squad for Roma By Football Italia staff
Fiorentina have revealed their 21-man squad for the match against Roma tomorrow evening.
New signings Jose Basanta, Joshua Brillante and Ciprian Tatarusanu all make the trip, but Vincenzo Montella will have to do without Giuseppe Rossi and Marko Marin.
Fiorentina squad: Alonso, Aquilani, Babacar, Basanta, Bernardeschi, Brillante, Gomez, Gonzalo, Hegazi, Ilicic, Joaquin, Lazzari, Lupatelli, Neto, Pasqual, Pizarro, Savic, Tatarusanu, Tomovic, Valero, Vargas. http://www.football-italia.net/55072/fiorentina-squad-roma

Leckie out of Austrlia squad? I feel like he was operated on before the last game so maybe he has gotten worse or he is going to play for Ingolstadt but they just want to hold onto him so are going to tell the FA he is not fully fit/he will so happen to pick up a knock this weekend. If he is out Troisi now being in Belgium would be pretty easy to bring in. Other forwards wouldn't be too disturbed to travel to the games are Taggart (injured?), Williams and Edwards with the Saudi Arabia game being at the first two players home ground. If it does happen it will probably be an A-league player or no-one though. I know this would over-hype him and he isn't better than many A-league players but I would find it cool if Ikonomidis got called up and at 19 he isn't that young. Quote:A pause, however, must Moritz Hartmann insert which this week again had problems with his ankle. It looks better however, with Mathew Leckie. The Australian was fit according Hasenhüttl, but still need time until he was 100 percent. Leckie is therefore also not going to the national team.... http://www.augsburger-allgemeine.de/neuburg/sport/Wiederholung-erwuenscht-id31163982.html

Quote:West Bromwich Albion @WBAFCofficial · Aug 28 Sebastien Pocognoli has not trained today and is a doubt for Saturday's game at Swansea #wba Saw some sites reporting squads without him but nothing from WBA so so I am guessing they are just predicted squads.

Reading's Alex McCarthy has signed for QPR. Means Federici will be reading's no.1 for the rest of the season (barring injuries or a huge dip in form).

Any news on Kwame Yeboah lately? Has he trained with the first team at all? It will be a little disappointing if he spends another season in the 4th tier German league. :?

Halloran on bench for Ddorf as they go 1:0 up afetr 2mins vs lowly Aue. Ddorf aren't much better themselves right now but this is the perfect start.

I remember a few forums years ago that used to have a goals scored table for OS Aussies. Would be an awesome addition to this thread. Not sure I'm on here often enough to maintain it, but any for regulars it would be a great idea. Thoughts?
That is, unless there is another one online that gets updated regularly .

Amini on the bench Halloran on, 79'. Looks like Cisak is #3 at Burnley unfortunately.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

No Kruse again. Leverkusen are that good right now that Drmic is on the bench. Top attacking form.

Are there any Bundesliga clubs who could use him right now? Makes things really difficult when you miss out on a solid preseason.

There are tonnes who could use one more player to add some depth and contribute positively. I'm not going to go through a list but there are tonnes. Even a few better Buli 2 teams offer lots of game time.
