In tsf's defence, he does have a point. Hopefully it doesn't jeopardise Kruse's resurgence with Leverkusen. Having said that I don't think it should stop a player being selected for international friendlies as many of our players would fall into this category.
I actually think some minutes for the national team might help Kruse at this stage.

Edited by tsf: 5/10/2014 11:14:02 PM No, actually back up why you think a player will lose standing when going away on a FIFA date. Is Son going to lose his place too, going away to play for a "4th rate side"? Is Kruse going to miraculously do something in a couple of training sessions that he hasn't done before? It's a ridiculous notion and you know it. As I said, these players have proved themselves. If you cannot understand the simple notion of a player that hasn't played in a year, is fighting for a position when the coach has proven players in front of him, then I cannot help you. The last thing he needs is worrying about games against teams as pathetic as UAE. He needs to concentrate on his club football.

You've still yet to explain how game time, as opposed to a couple of training sessions is guaranteed to make his status within the club worse. I can imagine the Leverkusen coach now "Damn, Robbie got some more competitive minutes into him post ACL instead of staying behind with half of the team going through the motions he's been doing for the past 3 months, he's dropped".

Game time? Yeah, the coach will be frothing at the lips that a striker he barely knows just had a hit out against the might of UAE. He'll be rushed straight into the starting line up. Also, if you know anything about football, it takes mentality and concentration in getting back from injuries. Let him focus on his club and their program for him. Worry about Australia come January.

Where did I say it's going to get him a first 11 place? All I've asked is for you to back up why it's guaranteed for him to lose standing, not state the obvious that it won't make him an automatic starter. You're shifting goal posts. You also need game time coming back from injuries. He's played 8 competiive minutes in the past 9 months, he needs the minutes. Quote:lukerobinho wrote:

No shit, Son also plays for a 4th rate country which was one of his statements, hence why I brought him up TSF wrote: AND are not playing for a 4th rate side like Australia Son plays for a footballing nation that isn't that much better than our own. Edit: This is going to continue going around in circles, we'll see in the weeks after the international break if it has had a negative effect. Edited by jlm8695: 5/10/2014 11:47:13 PM

Vidosic assist
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Maty Ryan played his 50th league game for Club Brugge tonight in their 3-0 win over Standard Liege. He hasn't missed a second of every official game since his arrival fourteen months ago.

Getting minutes including a start in your first season for a megaclub is excellent.

Read that he had a good chance to get on the score sheet, not sure if this is true or not.
