Giannou being 24 already would have to get a move on and start scoring more goals this season if he's to get a look into the Greek NT.

Serie B clubs have already been coming after him for a loan but Lazio think he's better off in-house. Hopefully a cameo for the first team is a realistic prospect within a year.

Aljay wrote:Close enough to halfway through the season, I thought it was worth putting together a scoring chart for the OS Aussies. All information taken from Transfermarkt including Cup games. Feel free to add players I have missed & update as the season progresses.
Giannou - 7 goals , 1 assist, 18 games Leckie - 4g, 6a, 19gm Troisi - 4g, 4a, 16gm Luongo - 3g, 6a, 23gm McDonald - 3g, 6a, 25gm Cahill - 3g, 3a, 25gm Bozanic - 3g, 0a, 12gm Vidosic - 2g, 5a, 16gm Halloran - 2g, 2a, 11gm Oar - 0g, 7a, 13 gm Kruse - 0g, 1a, 7gm
Edited by Aljay: 7/1/2015 12:11:37 PM A couple of things: - if we are going to play 4-3-3 Then I think Oar needs to be the left sided midfielder. That formation requires goal scoring wingers like Troisi or Kruse. i Dont think we will lose that much in terms of creativity. -Luongo averaging a goal/assist every 3 games is pretty good as he plays as a DM but I think those figures would be hard to maintain in a higher league he is obviously a class above league 1. Still good to see a more attacking minded midfielder coming up. -Vidosics form should have seen him make the Asian Cup squad I know people will get upset but I would rather he be in the team than Bresciano. I know Bresc has awesome passing skills but that is his entire game. Unlike Cahill he is really on his last legs super slow and unfit, Cant tackle, contributes very little in defense, easy to run around, cant beat players one on one, very average in the Air. I'm not saying Vidosic is the next Lampard but he is doing above average in an above average league and will be 30 come the next WC to Brescianos 38. I just think it will put to much of a burden on our wingers in terms of defensive contribution. -Leckie is about on par with last seasons haul of 10 goals and 10 assists playing in a much better team will be interesting to see how he goes in B1 where his team will likely be a relegation battler. -Giannou should have been capped a long time ago his progress has improved slightly from last season but he should have already been on the radar he has been scoring at a similar rate in terms of minutes per goal/assist for a couple of seasons.

So Taylor Tombides (18, turning 19 in February) has been loaned to a team in the 7th tier. First reaction is it was just to get him out on loan and they will release him at the end of the season except he has been around the U21's it seems who have a lot of players about 2 years older than him (born 1994 at least) and both sides have called it "work experience" not a loan. Anyway he started with a hattrick in a 4-3 loss. Work experience eh? I wouldn't be surprised if they kept Taylor around for another few years on some decent cash just to help him and his family out with the whole Dylan situation.

dam only checked back to 455, my reputation will never recover. Giannou scored 2 in a 4-0 in the cup against a 2nd division side. Also won a pen which got a player sent off, one report called it a dive.

Barca4Life wrote:Any rumours of Josh Brillante? on whether he will go on loan or not? pretty consistent ones that he will. Most recently I have seen Empoli (midtable Serie A) which is only 20km from Florence. Either they are waiting on getting a midfielder out before going for Brillante or Brillante was 2nd choice and they were waiting to see if they could get their first choice or both. I don't really know as it is just Google translate so it is hard to tell. Also Catania a team in the relegation playoff in Serie B appeared this week apparently looking at him. there have been 3 or 4 other clubs rumored in December but haven't seen anything recently. Fiorentina is expected to have a busy window getting players out, a lot of similar transfer to Brillante which haven't worked.

This is from an Empoli feed 12 hrs ago (i think 12 hrs) Quote: And with the track Cataldi which now seems no way out , the first name on the list seems to Brilliant , Fiorentina , Empoli who had already followed in recent months on the recommendation of former Grella , now FIFA agent and representative of the player . http://iltirreno.gelocal.it/infografica/2014/08/27/news/l-empoli-24-ore-su-24-tutte-le-notizie-in-tempo-reale-1.9825049

Tribal Football wrote:EMPOLI PREPARE BID FOR FIORENTINA MIDFIELDER JOSHUA BRILLANTE Submitted by Tribal Football Staff 3 days ago
Empoli are eyeing Fiorentina midfielder Joshua Brillante.
Empoli are keen to strengthen their midfield this month and have the Australia international under consideration.
Viola chief Daniele Prade had a one-on-one dinner meeting with Brillante last week to discuss his situation and the prospect of moving on.
Il Tirreno says a move to Empoli has been mentioned and developments are set to accelerate this week.
Brillante joined Fiorentina in the summer from A-League club Newcastle Jets. Tribal Football, I know, but they name their source, and there's a bunch of articles from the same day in Italian saying the same thing, but I didn't want to inflict google translate on you guys.

I rate tribal football. Back in the day it was real good and hinted to change in the state league system.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Not much out of his twitter other than he is back in training. Read a few UK websites saying that Fulham will be offloading a few strikers in January who haven't quite worked out, however are looking forward to getting Adam into the first team setup. He'd probably be 3rd or 4th in line once he is up and running, but should be able to break into that first team, they've had a horrid season thus far.

We have an issue guys. With the Asian cup and the lack of break, Swindon will be missing two key midfielders for a month. They arent in auto promo position at the moment and id hate to think what will happen to their league position without them playing.
