18 month loan. That is significant indeed! Hope he makes the match day squad on Monday for their game against Udinese.

Ex-Hearts defender McGowan lands at Dundee UnitedDundee United have confirmed the signing of Australian defender Ryan McGowan. The 25-year old has penned an 18-month contract with the Tannadice club after departing Chinese Super League outfit Shandong Luneng Taishan, marking his return to Scottish football. 12-time Australia international McGowan, who made 71 appearances for Heart of Midlothian between 2008 and 2013, admitted it was a great feeling to be back in Scotland and says he is eager to assist the Tayside club. “It is great to be back in the Scottish Premiership and I am excited about the challenge of being a Dundee United player,” he told the club’s official website. “When I moved to Shandong Luneng Taishan, I believed I would return to Scottish football one day and for it to be here at Tannadice is fantastic. “My time in China was a great experience but I look at what we can achieve here at Dundee United this season and I want to play a part in helping the club reach its goals.” http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/ex-hearts-defender-mcgowan-lands-dundee-united-4059713#.VMLSoi6rHng

Irvine wouldn't be allowed to play against Celtic, and Burgess wouldn't have unpacked his bags yet, if he's even physically arrived there yet. Nothing to worry about just yet.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here yet, but Burgess' loan came with a two year extention at Fulham. Great news! Fulham wrote:Extension & Loan For Burgess Thursday 15 January 2015 13:36
Cameron Burgess has penned a two-year contract extension with Fulham and joined Scottish Premiership side Ross County on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old defender, who has made four appearances for Fulham’s First Team this season, has signed a deal that will keep him at Craven Cottage until June 2017, with an option for a further year.
The Australia Under-23 international said: “I’m really happy to have signed a new deal that keeps me here for a lot longer and I’m happy to get on with my football again.
“I’ve got a really good affinity with the Club. It’s been a good time for me. One thing after another, it’s just been a surreal experience and I just hope it continues. Things just seem to be going up and up for me so I’m just delighted to be signing a new deal.
“I’m off to Ross County so hopefully I’ll get some good first-team experience there and come back for the start of next season. Getting a run of games will be good experience for me, playing first-team football on a consistent basis will stand me in good stead for next season so I’ll do as best as I can up there.”
Aberdeen-born Burgess could make his debut for the Staggies when they host St Mirren on Saturday. Ross County are currently level on points and goal difference with bottom-placed St Mirren in the SPL.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Amini hasn't played in any of the friendly games for Dortmund. if he was close start at Dortmund , you would think he be playing some friendly time

Halloran's 23 ey ? hard to miss. Rubbing shoulders with the best in this game, this kind of experience would be major for any player. I reckon he'll only get better this lad... fingers crossed. Halloran wide open then, looked like the Fullback had a shot. great Fortuna winning 1-0 fucking owning this BVB team.

Weindenfella looks like an old fella , a tad slow. Just doesn't look like a starting GK at all atm.

He had a few good moments and one howler pass that fortunately didn't result in anything.

Curtis Good (after 10 months out injured) and Ryan Edwards both played the 90 in Reading U21's win over Newcastle U21's, with the latter getting an assist. So glad to see Good back.

Armenikas came on for Udinese Primavera in the 62nd minute, getting two assists to turn the game around 2-1! That's the 16 year old's fourth game in a row in the U20s, and after this surely regular starts aren't far off!

There were full matches in the FA Cup for Mark Shwarzer, Federici and James Meredith (the latter in a 2-4 win away to Chelsea, Meredith assisting the equaliser with a long throw-in) while Kilkenny came off in the 62nd minute.
Loanees Alex Grant and Taylor Tombides played full matches in the non league divisions with an assist for Taylor.
Halloran played the last 23 minutes of in a 1-1 friendly draw against Borussia Dortmund, Amini nowhere to be seen.
Ugarkovic played the first half in a 5-0 friendly spanking of a 3rd Divison side during the Croatian holiday break.

Great stuff.
I'd be surprised if higher divisions wouldn't be interested in Taylor Tombides like a 5th division or League 2 outfit. He has started well at the level he is at currently.
Curtis Good playing is the biggest news of the week IMO.
