Unfortunately rogic didnt do much in the 20 minutes that I got to see. I was really hoping he would keep impressing and push for the starting spot. Just can't see it happening unless they get injuries.

5 3 dukla leading Stream better this half. I didnt see much of rogic due to the dodgy stream in the first half but i gotta say celtic look technically poor probably below most a league teams. Im guessing this isnt anything near a full strength squad the gk and a few of the back four have poor ball skills Im hoping deila made as much difference as elsewhere claimed but this game has me skeptical

Rogic just doesn't seem suited to defensive midfield. He's not fit enough, not quick enough defensively and can't screen well enough. He really isn't a versatile player. He can only play one position (and slight variations of it).
From the perspective of the Australian NT, this isn't a problem because he's the best Australian CAM hands down. Much rather he played there than someone like Troisi or Burns. Maybe De Silva will be similar in the near future, but he's also more versatile than Rogic. Luongo can play that position but is also very adept at CDM (note Luongo has English academy background and seems to be a more versatile player). If Rogic is fully fit and playing in behind the striker(s), that's great for Australia. You can have Luongo and one of Jedinak, Milligan or (ultimately) Brillante behind him.
So I'm not fussed about Rogic only being cut out for one position. But the issue is will he get any kind of gametime at CAM with the likes of Commons there, among others? I can't see him getting much of a chance at Celtic in the only position he can play. It's great that Deial rates him. But what hope has he of usurping the captain?

The CAM position is now locked in with Johanson. Rogic has zero chance to get ahead of him unless he gets injured.

A few thoughts what does Troisi gain from staying on the books of Juve despite the fact he weil never get game time ?
If Sarota can get back to the form of before he did his major injury then he should be a good to be our CDM after Jedinak.
As for Rogic its hard to see him play any spot but the false 9 like maybe wee Mac does at the Nix a little bit. He has a pretty small engine and im not sure he has the defensive traits to play that CM position the way Ange likes it or if he does it will stifle Luongos creativity.

We might be about to have a Lampard/Gerrard problem with our national team. It was always said they couldn't play together or there was no system that had the two best English players firing at once. We might have that with Rogic/Luongo. We've also got a few other CAM prospects coming through. We need some great prospects in other positions dammit.

Luongo is probably our most important player in the national team at the moment, and we really missed him against Kyrgyzstan. He brings just enough creativity and drive through the midfield, and puts in the hard yards defensively.
I think Rogic + Luongo would definitely work well together, and we'd create plenty of chances through the middle - it frustrates me when we are struggling for answers so we just rely on crosses into the box.
All that depends on if Rogic can ever get consistent game time and regularly last the full 90.

I can;t remember seeing this before, Cahill taking a long throw. Could have had four goals in this match. The service Cahill got in this match was very good. Looks like the opposition hung back which is really stupid when Cahill is there. However you can see the last chance a player with more pace would have got to the ball early enough so they would have had more chance of getting it past the goal keeper.

The system for Lampard and Gerrard to play together is a 4-3-3 with an inverted triangle like Australia has at the moment. England were just too dumb to know to use it. England spend most of that era trying to work out whether to play Heskey or Crouch as their much loved target man.

Was trying to find out if langerak would be starting in the friendly this morning and discovered hes injured. Quote:Hippach - Less than 24 hours before the VfB Stuttgart on Monday the training camp will end in Austria, the new goalkeeper Mitch Langerak has been injured. When warming up on Sunday morning attacked the Australians, who had joined the VfB Borussia Dortmund recently, suddenly to the right thigh and had to be treated in the sequence of the physiotherapists of VfB.
How long the goalkeeper will be out, is still unknown. But it is clear that he has suffered a sprain, which prevents him from on Sunday evening (19 clock, we live tickers ) in a friendly against the Czech champions Viktoria Plzen aground. Sport boss Robin Dutt said to the injury: "This is obviously a bad news." http://www.stuttgarter-nachrichten.de/inhalt.vfb-stuttgart-langerak-faellt-verletzt-aus.92371b08-423c-41b1-aa4f-2a99aebc6113.html

Luongo can get forward but also be a deep-lying playmaker. He has mobility. Then you have somebody like Brillante sitting up in front of the defence. It works nicely. Of course De Silva may well have a role to play too, by 2018.

Don't panic about Langerak. It doesn't seem anything major. He just needs to take it easy according to reports. Plenty of time to recover.
