Going to see Kruse today. Hope he gets some time.

Are you in Germany mate? How much does the average soccer match there cost to go to in comparison to one over here?

Average seat is 25€. Seat season ticket is 400€ for 17 games. My standing season ticket costs 170€ as a full paying adult. Makes England so shameful. Dortmund though while cheap, has seen a higher average percentage increase over 10 years.

Kruse with a good flick to get into open space. He ran into a lot of spaces but the passes didn't come. He kept putting hus hands up to let his team mates know he was there. They seem to ignore him
Brandt had a good game. Hannover need a wide man. They should have put a loan contract in his hand after the match.

Tyton conceded 3 again. Rough on him but it's something that plays against him. All close range things which Langerak often stops well.

Interesting.

I would've thought having to break up attacks isn't Rogic's strong point.

Great to see some observers considered him MOM.=d>

If Rogic is rotated and plays regular minutes it all helps the Socceroo cause. Good on Deila.

that was close, Ryan almost conceded from a well worked play except for great last ditch defending. Matty didn't know much about it.

Boy he was lucky not to concede twice in that 2nd half. The Rayo keeper had a top game.

Was a very good standard of match to watch and with Ryan playing in this league weekly its only going to improve him as a keeper.

Agreed - that was one of the best scoreless draws I've ever watched. The crisp short-passing attacking football from both sides was beautiful to watch. It's going to be an enjoyable season following Maty's games :)

It is good to see comments made like this.

It would never have happened in Australia 30 years ago.

I've known a number of former football fans from the Old Dart, who have turned to AFL as they find 'too little action' in the style of current Oz and Continental ( namely Italian) football.

Must admit I haven't visited this thread that much previously.

Appreciate the work of Voice Of Reason and Moofa, or whoever, for setting the thread up. There is so much info from so many posters. =d>

That is, as opposed to half a sentence in a one page journo round up of the all Aussies playing overseas. I've enjoyed reading those too, but when forum members like Jonszasz are on the ground watching games in Europe it makes this thread even more interesting.

Really happy with Rogic playing well but I hope he can get chances further up the field this season, we have a lot of players playing defensive mid currently. Holland, McGowan, Degenek, Jedinak, Griffiths, Milligan and Irvine have played there this season. If Brillante can find a club to give him time he probably will and players like Mooy and Valeri and decent options locally.

There are far too many Aussie DMs who are very proficient ball winners and reasonable distributors for Oz to use Rogic in this role.

I think Grazor has said that Deila is rotating Rogic as an AM as well as a DM.

Rogic needs game time above all else and a sustained playing period with no injuries.

Luongo played brilliantly and once again in my opinion has missed out on Man of the match from people scoring braces. I must admit QPR i have been proved wrong about Ramsey as the team has turned a very significant corner since the Cardiff game. We have played brilliantly and have begun playing with a decent amount of flair and precision

Overnight Aussies summary:

EPL:

Jedinak came on at 82 mins in Crystal Palace's 2-1 home win over Aston Villa
Federici was an unused sub in Bournemouth's 4-3 away win over West Ham. Good to see the number one Boruc conceding 3 goals.
Schwarzer was an unused sub in Leicester's 1-1 home draw to tottenham.

Championship:

Bailey Wright started and played 90 mins in PNE's 2-1 home loss to Ipswich. He picked up a yellow in the game. Neil Kilkenny started and played 75 mins in the match as well.
Luongo started and played 82 mins and picked up an assist in QPR's 4-2 home win over Rotherham
Davidson started and played 90 mins in Huddersfield's 1-1 away draw against Fulham. Apparently Taggart and Burgess played earlier for Fulham's U-21 side.

Bundesliga:

Kruse came on at 75 mins in Leverkusen's 1-0 away win over Hannover
Langerak still missing through injury for Stuttgart as they lost 3-2 away to Hamburger SV

Seria A:

Ikon was not in squad for Lazio's 2-1 home win over Bolgna.

Eredivisie:

Rostyn Griffiths started and played 90 mins in Roda's 1-0 home win over de Graafschap. De Silva and Juric not in squad unsurprisingly.

SPL:

Rogic started and played 79 mins in DM role in Celtic's 3-1 away win over Dundee United for whom Ryan McGowan started and played 90 mins. Couldn't work out how Rogic played as my stream kept jerking but good minutes nonetheless.
Jackson Irvine started and played 90 mins in Ross County's 4-0 away win over Kilmarnock.
McDonald started and played 78 mins in Motherwell's 2-1 away loss to St Johnstone

La Liga:

Mat Ryan started and played 90 mins and kept a clean sheet in Valencia's 0-0 away draw to Rayo Vallecano in opening match of the season.

Bundesliga 2:

Holland played 90 mins in Duisburg's 2-0 away loss to Karlsruher

Greece Super League:

Bulut not in squad sadly for Iraklis's 1-0 away win over Kalloni. Injured? Out of favour?

J-league:

Burns started and played 72 mins in Tokyo's 0-0 away draw to Nagoya Grampus
Mitch Duke played 90 mins for Shimizu S-pulse's 1-0 away loss to Gamba Osaka. They are languishing in 15th spot after 8 games.

K-league

Wilkinson was not in squad for Jeonbuk's 1-0 home loss to Incheon United. I believe he is injured.

Shimizu S Pulse primarily played with 3 at the back during the first stage of the competition and Duke played as a wingback. They're now at the second stage and since then they've sacked their manager and reverted to a back 4 with Duke playing as a more traditional winger.

I was kind of worried whether his first touch and close control would be an issue before he left for Japan, but he's actually been playing pretty well and has formed a good understanding with Utaka (their main striker). The main issue for him is his team's defending is shockingly bad and the manager seems to have no idea how to fix it. Right now he's managed to get some assist to his name if he could get some more goals as well I wouldn't be surprised if there were other J-league sides interested in him when S Pulse get relegated.

Transfermarkt has him playing as a left winger but the team's style might be for wingers to play deep?
