Holman's still at it in the UAE, currently playing against Al Ain. You'd think Abdulrahman would test himself in Europe.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Could be something tangible in what you're saying there. I felt he didn't hit his potential, a little timid when mixing it up with other NT players.

Perhaps he doesn't back himself well enough or the other boys don't back him enough for the NT

Bursaspor he gets into these little grooves. I would say, he's as quick as Brad Smith on the ball and in recovery. I def want Ange to back him a bit more in the NT setup

Probably more to do with being the biggest fish in a small pond. Also he probably doesn't pay tax in UAE and wouldn't necessarily match the wage he gets now.

Home Superstar vs some Arab guy playing on some team

Troisi came on in the 89th minute in 2-0 win. He has been on the bench lately amid speculation of a January move

Like many Arab's, they are treated like rockstars in their native culture. Arabs, along with the Chinese, just don't have this mentality of testing themselves against the best the world has to offer, thus their national teams suffer as a result. Compare that with East Asian nations like Australia, Japan and Worst Korea, who routinely send their best and brightest to Europe, and it's no wonder that the nations competing for honours at every World Cup and Asian Cup come from the East.

Iran is probably an exception in the Arab world - they tend to have a few players kicking about in Europe, but their international status probably hinders their development and the exporting of more players.

Arabs don't have the mentality. Look at their teams, when do you see comebacks by them? Whenever they go a few goals down they throw in the towel and start arguing. They always seem to give up. And If they're winning they're faking injury to waste time. Mental midgets so no wonder they cannot cut it on the big stage.

Exactly. The selection of Meredith was a mistake. He is at the peak of his career and he's only at League one level.

Elder on the other hand at age 20 is playing better in that league. Not saying he should've been selected but if you are going to select someone from that level..........

The same could be said about Elrich. Who is at his peak and hardly special.

FC Tokyo will still be in the ACL if any of the three remaining teams other than Kashiwa win the cup, but not in a group with any Aussie teams unfortunately.

The main thing I think is money the chinese and arabs are just so heavily overpaid. Most would be lucky to get a full time pro contract in the UK. So for them a move abroad is a massive pay cut and they aren't likely to really make it anyway. Nicky carle I think said when he was in arab land their were no more than 5 players better than him in the entire league excluding foreign players. This was when he was in his 30's. The WC is a good guide no arab team ever make the round of 16 they get pumped if they even qualify.

Only four Arab clubs have won the AFC Champions League or it's predecessor the Asian Club Championship ever. You were saying?

So 22 AUGUST 2016. That is pretty far away, we could just be forgetting all about poor James Troisi, until the year 2017. Now you read that, 2017? yep

That's realistic. I know Juventus probably want top dollar for someone on their books. After his contract is up for him I'd be looking to Belguim again. It's a tough gig for our boys, they'd need to get a spot on some decently positioned mid-table club and then just win the clubs fans over, not being too big headed in the progress, but being in the right places at the right time to help their clubs (win games).

That is the only way I can see these boys maintaining good FORM and regular game time. I mean we're not looking at player talent pool like Brazil or some such shit. The guys need to keep playing and fighting for minutes, and hopefully just finding stable clubs. Fuck, how many of our players are changing teams at the rate of a season

Jedinak bench as with Cabaye. Mutch into the starting side. Wright, Luongo, Davidson and Oar on the bench. News is they all received trainer of the week awards with a lolly bag and Nando's voucher.

Elder out with an injury but I don't think it's too serious.

I reckon all our English based players could walk into this Manchester United team though. Rubbish from the players and coach.

Very frustrating. Arguably a decent core of our squad inactive. Mixed performances for the Roos too this year. The moves all made great sense initially. At least these clubs have so many fixtures so rotation is inevitable.
