Seriously, valentines day is a load of crap. If you love a person you don't need an arbitrary day to demonstrate that. And you don't need to meet the excessive seasonal mark-up that comes with it.

Got a planned trip up to Picton, already booked a reservation at a restaurant there for lunch, meander about town for a bit, walk along the sunset, then driving home at staying at the missus' with chickflick movies, champagne and maltesers. The day will probably involve roses and other cutesy things.

Though frankly I tend to do this stuff on days other than Valentines Day. If you need an excuse to have a bit of romance there's something flawed in your relationship.

Most men would agree with you here. Find me a girl that doesn't break your balls over Valentines Day and I'll be your best man.

Its not so much being whipped as it is my usual tendency to want to stand out from the crowd and be memorable.

Deep childhood insecurities tend to result in me making an effort to be memorable. Helps with job interviews and keeping romance alive. Not so good when it bites me in the arse.

That's kind of funny because I generally go the opposite way, the less people that notice me, the better.

I don't crave attention from a group, and certainly not to the extent when I'll post a status on facebook saying I'm going to kill myself, or post a video of me eating a used tampon to youtube.

Tbf, its a pretty cool pub and its a 3 course meal, wine/craft beer included type of thing. It won't be a chicken schnitzel and $20 in the pokies type of night. :lol:
