First Valentines day as a single person in 6 years. Got work the next day, so can't even drink away my feels.

Eh, used to be a little bothered about it but now I've just learned to let it go.

Just went to Fiji with the mrs, so Thursday will be pretty simple.

Got a planned trip up to Picton, already booked a reservation at a restaurant there for lunch, meander about town for a bit, walk along the sunset, then driving home at staying at the missus' with chickflick movies, champagne and maltesers. The day will probably involve roses and other cutesy things.

Though frankly I tend to do this stuff on days other than Valentines Day. If you need an excuse to have a bit of romance there's something flawed in your relationship.

Fake holiday for weak arse people who can't be bothered putting the effort in for the rest of the year style rant here.

Its not so much being whipped as it is my usual tendency to want to stand out from the crowd and be memorable.

Deep childhood insecurities tend to result in me making an effort to be memorable. Helps with job interviews and keeping romance alive. Not so good when it bites me in the arse.

See, Dan's girlfriend Laura chose that particular day to break up with him via public billboard.

What a piece of work, eh?

It gets worse. Not only did Laura pay $150 for a billboard at a local petrol station to announce her breakup, the announcement also said she was leaving Dan for some bloke called Gary.
