That is super impressive for heart, surely there would be plenty of heart fans that wont buy memberships because of the big stadium (for them) with their draw, they should surely average above 10k. who knows, if they have a good season, with the amount of FTA games they have, could this be their breakthrough year?

My only concern at our current figures is we could really be heading to a point where wellington might get left behind, with CCM and Heart, which you could argue are the smaller clubs, really stepping it up. who knows.

I am beyond excited for this season, with fox, sbs, youtube there is still not enough video lead up to keep me content atm :P

Fantastic numbers. Most of those would be full paying memberships ie a paid seat. We will get 85K members before the first match I would say. Great stuff.

Wellington can't even make 3k. Piss them off.

Most likely coz of 3 game intro packs or 7 game savers etc but who cares

These are still individual members who are signing up to support the club before a ball has been kicked

As far as I know those 3 game packs are for the first 3 games of the season so you get a taste then want to jump on board properly. I think that's a great idea

Of course there may not be very many of them at all because that counter of ours was never in live time and it was always going to jump come the final week before the games start. Guy at work got his 7 game pack yesterday for example

'Song' said the 'HSG Shop' in Newcastle had a 'membership counter' in-store? Last he checked a good month ago he said the counter stood at '8,300-something'. Indeed, as you suggest, surely that latest update accurate, but, maybe you or a Newcastle fan can check that counter in that Jets shop in Newcastle, to confirm?



This has been said a few times before, around here, but... The more this number may increase over coming seasons (hopefully), closer it pushes to 15 even 20k, the concept of 'scarcity' may inch further to reality - especially for those potential full house games like the visit of Wanderers, Victory and perhaps even the likes of Mariners and Roar?

When 'the floor' of SFC's crowds raise too, suddenly the 45k venue may not seem THAT 'over-large'? But we'd be talking massive crowds here, probably just surpassing Victory, a 25-30k average or some such.

Granted, if SFC had their own 'Bubble Dome' ala a 30k capacity rectangle venue like Melbourne, then that WOULD drive up memberships much further, and higher they are, higher they will be, with scarcity and crowds pushing closer to capacity for every fixture. None the less, SFC aren't doing too bad!

Very close to 5.8K, so there is a strong possibility we will hit 5.9K by kick off on Saturday night.

I'm not fussed if they are counting 3 or 7 game members now. They've all committed to the club just a bit more than a single game ticket buyer. The first step in hopefully becoming a full season ticket holder in the future. Its money in the bank before a ball has been kicked in anger. As long as we never go down the path of a certain other sport that counts pet memberships in its annual dick measuring contest.

Its membership day on SEN for Victory, expect a decent jump for them today like it did for us a few days back.

I'll probably check out the counter in the shop when I head in some time to pick up the new away jersey.

I still don't understand why/how they can update the memberships at the store, yet can't spend 30mins to setup a membership counter on the website, and then spend 5 mins updating it every few days

We'd be going close, that's an extra 138 since yesterday morning... There must be some like me that still haven't got it, buying it now.

When the Jerks were first chasing 10k members, I know a fair few people were holding off because they figured they'd get a prize/recognition for being the 10,000th member to sign up. I wouldn't be surprised to hear SFC hitting 10k by tonight TBH

That's outstanding. After all the doom and gloom about their viability in the Melbourne market it's nice to see them finally turning a new leaf.

Amazing what happens when the owners stop sitting on their hands and get stuck in to some decent players and a proper membership drive. Now watch them give 10k average a good spanking as soon as they get on a winning run and the Yarraside lads cool it a bit on the negative press.
