In the lecture after the suspension of a senior professor of english at Sydney Uni, the lecturer stated: "the opinions of the senior lectures do not reflect those of us, and you are all equally valuable to us"

Why do lecturers think leaving blanks in online lecture slides will make more people show up to the actual lecture? All that happens is the people that always go get pissed off and people like me have extra reasons to avoid studying and going to classes

But you have to reward people who make the effort to turn up to lectures. true, more than happy to give people who go an advantage over those who dont but there must be another way rather than making them note every second or third word Helloworld1992 wrote:Some people from my uni travel up to two hours to attend their lectures/tuts. there must be a correlation between distance from uni and likelihood to go me and a mate live 15 mins from uni and never go, our other friends live at least an hour away and always go

I lived on residence for my first two years and the ammount of times I'd fuck off class for being hungover or because there was a FIFA session on the cards was ridiculous, It came back to bite me though as I was meant to graduate last year  I live about 15 minutes away now and get to heaps more class, I find that when you've got to actually commit to travelling you're way more focused on getting there.

Complete opposite for me. Live about 45 minute drive from uni. As soon as it looked like I was going to be late I wouldn't bother. And any classes that started before 10-1030 was a no go due to freeway traffic. Not joking when I say I would of gone to about 10% of classes in first year while second year and 1st semester of this year was barely an improvement on that. Got in a relationship around the start of this semester. Stay at hers a lot, she lives about a 5-10 minute drive from uni and I go a hell of lot more now. No surprise either that this is my best semester results wise Guess it is a bit of a different comparison to yours though since you were actually living on campus. When I started being able to drive I got more slack with attendance.

Funny that some, cough cough above, that tout themselves as the repository of all all wisdom can't seem to finish their degrees in the allotted timeframes. There were blokes at my uni that took 6, 7 and even 8 years to finish their degrees. Fucking no-hopers.

I can't remember touting myself as such tbh, but I vaguely remember having a crack at you for whinging about something once and you've been pissy about it ever since, it's a bit sad I reckon. FWIW I haven't failed anything, I'm doing the extra year because I was really lazy and short sighted and have dropped a few classes I wasn't interested in over the years. I don't regret it though, as the main reason I dropped so many classes over the last two years was because I was really hating what I was doing, but this extra year has actually been the best I've had results wise and enjoyment wise so in the long run I think it was worth it in order to rediscover my passion.

I had all my shit due within the first three days. I'd have preferred it to be stretched out a bit more though as I had to cram pretty hard, it's nice being able to just fang around all day doing nothing whilst my housemates are still slaving away though.

Shit group members cost me a distinction in one of my subjects. :x
Also find it interesting that I'm getting better grades in my HR Major than my Sport Management one.

Has anyone had any experience transferring credit to a new uni, either domestically or internationally. Applying for uni in Europe and I have an eu passport so admission isn't an issue but i don't really want to start my degree again if I don't have to.

I started study this year at usq external. So if you can't transfer internationally you will at least be able to transfer to them and study distance. It's ok, you don't get face contact with other students though. But you can study 10 units per year. 2 over Australian summer.

Thought about that as well but couldn't deal with doing a whole degree online. I'm only two years in and Dual Degreeing so it's not like i've made any substantial progress, but yeah i'd rather not do it again if I don't have to. It's a pain enough finding Uni's that do a whole course in English (my germans good but I wouldn't want to do uni in German), let alone one that is in English and specifically mentions Credit transfer.

I couldn't find any full degrees in English in my city and I wasn't willing to move. Plus i didnt want to go through the entry process, if I had to do the Swedish courses etc. Just one thing to think about is that you know the Australian system. I know in Sweden it is a lot less supportive (as I've heard from my partner). Do your research as to how the German system works. I guess it depends on what you are studying as to whether you would have to retake some subjects too. I like online because I don't fancy the prospects of spending my days around 18 year olds. I'm at the worst time of the year though. It's almost winter solstice and there is no snow yet. So it's 6 hours light everyday. It's hard getting motivated sometimes.

Got two 6's a 5 and a 4 this semester, pretty happy with that. In the same boat as RB, 3 subjects to go until I finish uni and open a fish and chip shop to rival PB's.
