You would be correct but unfortunately the game was a stinker for 70mins. 20 mins of decent play is not going to get you thousands of new members. Very true. It was a completely different feeling at the ground. I know alot of people who are not members who went who loved it.

It really helps that the best 20 minutes were the last 20 minutes.

Be great if they can get close to 10K, but a true footballing town. Newcastle only looks bad because they have previously had an outstanding result (over 10K), ignore that previous result and 8k is a fantastic result for Newcastle given size, recent results and everything else that is going on. if Newcastle get to 9k it would still be a reasonable result with all things considered. if they have a good year they will get more than 10k next year. Agreed guys and Davo, considering their under radar/underwhelming pre-season and even low key expectations under Stubbins (And with off the field) - they could surprise somewhat and their first game of the season against Mariners was a promising performance apparently. With the likes of Flores, Neumann, Joel Griffiths, Dave Carney, Montano, the talented young Mitch Cooper etc... They are certainly a dangerous team, with proven to be effective, A-League talent/threats upfront. Flores is still Flores too - the Johnny Warren medalist has a bee under his bonnet and will be seeking to recapture/prove some of the form of his AU days. The low-key Jets may finally be the vehicle for him to star again, hopefully. I thought they looked the better team against Mariners, hard done by, the looked very good in patches. I think they will get 9k, if they get 10k that will be outstanding for them, and the A-League as a whole. Edited by MrBrisbane: 17/10/2014 04:30:17 PM There is apparently a heap of GA season ticket members who are yet to renew their membership, solely because we don't see a home game until Round 5 and they're just lazy. I can easy see another 1-2k people start to sort their memberships between now and then.

Expect a nice little jump once FC and Victory announce updates. It's been longer than a week since their last one.
I'm hoping we can reach 105k. That would resemble almost 10% growth.

Impressive to see MC hit 10K.
Will be a huge challenge to get close to that next year though if the club has another disappointing season. There will be no Villa boost next year, and even this year that looks to have been short lived :(

If WSW win the ACL they might think that they are within a chance themselves.

Hopefully that means the fans are becoming attached to the club itself, not just rocking up to see David Villa.

How many of the 10k are going to actually go to games after Villa has left? I'm sure many bought memberships thinking they'd be able to watch Villa play 10 matches, including 5 at home which they can attend.

Considering the huge crowd Adelaide United had on Friday night against Victory, their membership is very small. Is enough being done to grow their membership base?

I can understand you are threatened as over the next 5 years we will build into something your team and club should have been, it will happen, and you realise this, as its just not talk. Cling onto journalists in Melbourne that are one eyed victory people. We no longer need to be surrounded by positive news, we have a solid core of supporters and members, a great financial situation and a clearly defined vision that can be met, to be the best in Australia.
